  • “Preowned New” confusing as!

ahaha thats the consoles name 'NEW" 3ds xl
Its weird but better then Wii

  • Really tempting price.

Too bad I already own a 3DSXL and a 2DS, along with these unplayed games: Pokémon Omega Ruby, Luigi’s mansion 2, Kid Icarus, as well as Red Dead Redemption 2, Wolfenstien II, Forza Horizon 4…

Sell them all and buy this and install CFW its easy!

    • Lol so few games, i have mine hacked and have over 100

    • Did you get Wolfenstein 2 at that $10 sale and still haven't played it? Lol
I would put it way below FH4 and RDR2. It's an ok shooter but you should only play it when you have nothing else to play - which is not the situation in your case.

If they have updated the 3ds to 11.8 installing cfw is a pain

    • why?

      11.8 is hackable

      https://3ds.hacks.guide/

    • I picked up a new 3ds xl from gumtree last week, running 11.8. Initially was annoyed but just bought sudoku (any dsi game works) for like $2 and then it was easymode from there.

  • I would look this up myself but thought others might be interested in knowing too, can this run N64 games with CFW and if so can you play multiplayer with other CFW'd 3DS's?

    • N64 is technically possible if you're techy but it's unplayable. Unlikely to improve much, just not enough power on tap.

      • thanks, not a deal breaker but a bit of a shame still.

    • The new consoles fair better with emulation, but N64 is definitely pushing it. What games are you looking to play multiplayer?

      • hypothetically Perfect Dark, Mario Kart and Conker's Bad Fur Day.

        • Extremely unlikely, sorry bud.

The Mariokart on 3DS is great though. There are some N64 games that were fully ported (such as the Zeldas, Diddy Kong Racing, Starfox, Rayman) but COnker and Perfect dark were very demanding games, Perfect dark especially: it required the Expansion Pak.

  • Will this come in its original packaging/box, with manuals and everything else?

I bought a refurbished New 2DS XL recently; it came in a generic box labelled as a DS Lite with a generic USB charge cable and generic USB power adapter.

      • Thanks for the info.

Refurbished LOL. EB Games LOL. Yeah right…

  • Memory card access for n3ds xl is a pain in the ass compare to the slot card access to memory card for n2ds xl.

    • +1

Not really a big deal, I think I've removed it twice since setting it all up. You can transfer files to it over Wifi with CFW.

  • nice deal

  • You're better off getting one from Gumtree with a few games included for around $120.

    • +2

      They aren't this cheap

        • +2

Not near me, I only tend to buy off gumtree if it's local

          • +2

@thord: they don't have to be available in every suburb in the country for his statement to stand.

        • Not the "New" model though, is it?

          • +2

@JaxSantiago: Nah it is, it has the c-stick-nub thing

            • @thord: So C-stick-nub thing = "New" 3DS XL.

Noted. Would've been better if seller had put in "New" — would be useful for the unfamiliar peeps like me.

              • +1

@JaxSantiago: Yep. It's poorly branded, there's so many variations of the thing and since it's primary a kids consoles it's probably the parents selling them. Not a big surprise they don't know.

But yeah, c-stick nub = new 3ds xl. Also has extra shoulder buttons and a micro-sd card slot (but you can't often see those two)

      No warranty from scumtree

    • I paid $80 for one last week from gumtree, it had a scuff on the bottom but checking activity log there is less than 50 hours on it and the buttons feel basically new. There are a few around the $120 to $150 mark still up in the Perth area. I'm gonna buy a galaxy shell and reshell it.

  • Is a flashcart still needed for CFW?

    • +1

      Nah, all software now

    • Not needed but I personally prefer r4 for nds titles. Games played through ndsbootstrap requires AP patching whereas r4 doesn't and it also takes away space from your 3ds titles.

  • New to the whole ds thing. How do I get multiple games into ds? After hacking with cfw do I then buy r4 cards? Where do I download the games from?

    Thanks

    • best to google or watch youtube vids they might help. or https://3ds.hacks.guide/

      • Thx halvar. I did check the link but I couldn’t seem to find references for downloading the games after cfw is installed.

  • Picked one up. Pretty good overall condition only marks I can see are a couple light scratches on the back removable plate. Other than that, really good nick. Also came with a 64gb microsd

    • 64gb???? Lol. You just got lucky there.

    • Thought NINTENDO said highest capacity it takes is 64gb?

      • You just format it to fat with guiformat or any other program that forces fat format. You can use up to 128gb without issue

  • Just curious, anyone know if multiplayer would work on these? Like with legit games and / or with other CFW games?
