ShopBack came to us a few weeks ago to co-sponsor this event. For them, they are having a Christmas party with some of their top-users. For us it's the celebration of OzBargain turning 12 — so we end up hosting an event together. A few details are still yet to be confirmed (as ShopBack is doing all the work organising it), but

Date: Thursday, 29 November 2018
Time: 6-9PM
Venue: Spawn Point Bar, 199 Clarence Street, Sydney
Theme: Christmas, Fun, Food, Freebies & some Retro Gaming

However, placements are limited due to the size of the venue & finite resources (i.e. food & drinks). Therefore if you wish to come, you must RSVP by Wed 21 Nov (by using the poll below). OzBargain has been allocated 40 places, and to prioritise existing members in Sydney, please only RSVP

I'll update the thread when more information arrives. Also note that Tycn is also organising a meetup on Thur 22 Nov at Pizza Autentico in Surry Hills. I will also try to get to that event.

  Orange ones or the Black ones? Black ones are the women sizes from last year. Orange ones are of quick-dry material this year, and they actually run a bit large.

    Bummer! I missed out on a quick dry orange one this year (ran out at the party). Hope next year I'll get one with the same material!

Orange Ozbargain shirts are correctly sized in my view. The shopback ones are small. I have a large in both and the shopback one is too small for me.

Further clarification - I have a black shopfest t-shirt and a red shopback t-shirt. they are both made by 'The Inkers'. The red one is OK but the black one is too small. They are both large.

  It's like when you're shopping for clothes from a Chinese website and they specify the size as "Asian large" which is actually a "Westerner small". I think the Shopfest ones may have been made in Asia so they run smaller (which is perfect for me!)
  
  Speaking of which, I'm wearing my black Shopfest shirt to work today. Was meaning to also ask for a red Shopback shirt but forgot before I left the party!

    They had adorably cute knit-look festive sweaters too. Very handy for the chilly commute home, especially for anyone who dressed for intense gaming.

Hi all, what an incredible night it was!

While we've only been here for a few months, we'd like to thank the OzBargain community for the tremendous support over the time we've been here so far, and everyone who made it to the event last night. It's awesome we were able to meet some very familiar usernames in real life, and to see some intense competition with our Mario Kart tournament 🔥.

Also a massive congrats to our Mario Kart champion, Scrooge, as well as the winners of our raffle!

Lastly but not least, a big thank you to Scott for building OzBargain to what it is today, and also being able to support and make it to the event last night to meet the team and community. Without OzBargain, where would we discover all these deal hacks? Cheering you on for StartCon today!

  Well we didn't win (understandably). Vinomofo won E Commerce Company of the year. I guess we aren't hip enough for the startup crowd, not to mention we aren't an e-commerce company in the first place.

    Nominees are: booktopia (sells books & DVDs), Catch (sells overstocked stuff), Kogan (sells rebadged Chinese junk and parallel imports), Vinomofo (sells wines), and OzBargain (sells display ads). OzB was nominated for the wrong category.

Despite not winning anything (unless you count a stash of oversized t-shirts), this was probably the most fun I've had at any OzBargain event.
