    • But Vodafone which has very patchy phone coverage away from cities and town areas.

      • The tail doesn't wag the dog

      • We do a fair bit of travelling and so far the west coast of Tasmania was the only real problem we have encountered with Vodafone. (I suspect other telcos much the same as several were asking for the free wifi codes at Cradle Mountain). I have heard the north outer suburban coast of Sydney has had some problems in the past, but have not known this ourselves. Our particular area has problems with Optus, but I know a few people here are happy with Telstra.

Is it too late to ask Kogan for a refund?

I got this for my wife last time around. She does little browsing or social media so for her this deal is incredible value. A few months in and she still has nearly 10GB left.

    Perfect for light users.

  • What's the situation regarding phone to text when you miss a call, Is it available?

So there are two "activate by" dates for the super pack voucher. According to the T&C,

    (1) for a new service, "Make sure you use the voucher code that is inside the pack by the date shown on your pack." Packs from the previous sale have activate by date of 31/12/2019. Presumably the packs being sold this time will be newer and need be activated by sometime in 2020.

    (2) as a recharge on top of an existing super pack, the voucher must be used before 1/3/2019, much much earlier than (1).

The T&C are not clear what would apply for a recharge of an existing Aldimobile account that does not have an existing super pack; to be safe it's probably (2)? Guess all these are to make sure that people do not stock up and use them over several years? Though it's not clear why won't they allow this, as it would just mean they get our cash in their pocket early…

Can I port my number to this if i'm on post paid?

Why would someone get this over the Belong $10 a month deal (with no contract) ? You'll get 12GB as well anyway (data banking) and can leave anytime a better deal appears

    • +1

Same thoughts and gonna stick with Belong for my old folks. Only if Belong had roaming as this one does.

    • Why would someone get this over the Belong $10 a month deal
      .
      it's cheaper….99 divided by 12 = $8.25

In that case, for $49 for 180 days ($8.20 / month) https://www.lebara.com.au/welcome-offer (Offer ends 30.11.2018) has far more generous data (5GB / month) , with unlimited calls to 10 countries and locks you for a shorter period

        • What happens after the first 180 days?

          • +3

@LivinginEastwood: Find another deal after 180 days (or just before the 180 days is up).

        • Lebara uses the Vodafone network, whereas Belong and Aldi use Telstra.

        • đź‘Ť (Ran out of +'s)
          Way to go!

Only negative is the deal ends 3oth November. I assume that is when the sim must be activated by?

  • Thanks OP - I need 3 of these to cover the kids. Any restrictions on how many I can buy at one time?

    • I've bought 2 at the same time. So probably not.

  • Does the pack include nano sim?
Can you recharge with the same super pack after 365days?

  • +1

I have a feeling that ALDI can very well launch a yearly plan with reasonable data allowance and decent price, which can give tough fight to Kogan and Lebara. They aren’t too far already.

Just skimming the comments and there seem to be more than a handful of people observing (complaining?) that 1 GB of mobile data per month is far too low.

If 1 GB is not enough then this plan, and many like it, are simply not aimed at you.

And not everybody is like you. 1 GB is more than enough to meet a lot of people's needs.

    • true…there's people out there and i can recommend 5-6 people already…

  • +5

Belong is $20/year more expensive but may be better for some people as there is unlimited data*, data gifting, international calls for an extra $5/month and it is with Telstra.

*It is 1gb per month and then unlimited data capped at 64kbps for the rest of that month.

  • not bad not bad

  • I'm using Pay as you go + Date pack combination which expires in 4weeks…
Can I buy this plan and use it? simply put"voucher code" for the Super Pack??
I just wanna make sure before I buy it.
    Thanks

    • +1

You can. When you put "voucher code" for the super pack, your current data pack will be replaced with this super pack

  • What happens at the end of the plan? Can you get the same deal/plan again or does Aldi put you on a different plan?

    • +3

It's pre-paid so you have to find something else. If Aldi are smart they will have a similar offer when this 12 month plan is about to end.

  • My heart skipped a beat for a second. I thought it said 12gb per month

  • +1

Just bought two. Kept at cash-till not on display. Activate by 31 Dec 2019.

  • Fyi Templestowe store in Vic ran out when I picked up the last 3 earlier today.

  • +2

Runaway Bay store did not receive them this morning. I was planning to buy 2 but after reading about Belong 1GB plan I think I will change my mind and go for Belong

    • Yep Redbank Plains / Springfield QLD didn't receive theirs either, they said no stores in their region received them. They said to keep checking back and they have no ETA when they will arrive. Hopefully they receive them soon.

    • If you can wait, buy Belong when they are on sale. I got a $25 sim for $10 recently.

    • The big difference is no international roaming on Belong. If roaming is not required, data banking in Belong is more attractive.

  • I bought these in store yesterday, and the back of the box says they can be activated any time until 31 December 2019. Does anyone know if we're to believe the box or the ALDIMobile site?

  • I saw about 9 packs in display shelf at Aldi Bondi Jct yesterday.

    • Saw a few at the Qld Salisbury and Stretton stores today. Perhaps some new stock has arrived?

      • I think so…we do this so others who are interested knows where there is stock :-). Thanks.

  • my cousin considering this offer right now..low gigs but most importantly calls and txt

  • Anyone know how often they offer this deal? Was keen to get it but realised it's now expired :/
