We know this is targeted already and that everyone has wildly different offers.
Points differ, spend differs, amount of weeks differ.

    Also mine is $130 :(

    • +3

This deal/post serves as reminder for others to check their emails.

I benefited greatly from others reminding me to check my unmonitored email for all sort of bargains.

    • Also mine is $130

I've never had any offer from them.

      • +2

Because you don't have a flybuys card?

      • It's probably because you've got an older card?
I have several flybuy cards, my original oldest one gets nothing at all, ever, period.
The same thing with my parents, they've got older flybuy cards, never had deals on them either.
So, I've since registered a couple new cards and I've been getting these deals ever since, only on the newer cards.

        • No, it's because I use my card every few days.

  • $60 Spend for my card

  • -2

    Got it. Thanks

  • $110 for me :/

  • +1

I got this offer yesterday evening, but not sure if I can justify spending $60 each week at Coles for the next four weeks straight. https://imgur.com/a/rihgenr

They offered me 2,400 points for one-time $60 spend that expires tonight, and I am struggling to get anything good to buy from this week's specials. Imagine wanting to shop at Coles for four weeks straight. This would be handy for a family who always shops at Coles. Woolies and Foodland/IGA stores are closer to me than Coles.

    • The quilton 48 pack toilet paper is on special this week for $18 per pack - 38 cents per roll. with the 2,400 points (20%) it brings it down to 30 cents. Surely a great deal and has no use by date. You just need to buy 3 packs and some milk etc.

      • 3 packs of tissue takes space unless you want to build a tissue castle around the toilet

        • Lolll exactly my thoughts hahahaha I’ve seen this before

        • I'd store it in the cupboard.

      • +3

Just buy like a big bag of rice, Vegemite and tea bags lol. Takes up less space. Or just expensive necessities eg hair dye.
$60 can be easily spent, but just as long as you are playing the game right and not spending money to get money.

        • +2

Agree with pennypincher. Just play the game. Find the stuff that you actually use on sale (generally 1/2 price sale is what I go for) and load up.

          • @youngchinaman: Harder for singles and low income households.

But if you put in a little bit of effort, you can get 65% off your Coles groceries stacking offers/discounts……, it’s a no brainer, but try as I do it’s hard to convince people it’s really easy to do.

Sad seeing full priced items in a trolley where people are spending hundreds and not even using flybuys.

            • @Coops1: Yes and I often see people just grabbing things off the shelf and if they look down or next to it they can see a larger size of the same item that cheaper because its on sale. I do not expect them to change brands but they do not even look around. Many people who are time poor never try these things out and do not realise how quick and easy it can be. At least collect the flybuys and use $ off shopping but as you say it's hard to convince people. When I say I always get 30% off and sometimes more they say great - how, but when I tell them they are not interested even through it's hundreds of dollars saving per year.

        • Not a big fan of Vegemite (O no! lol), have bought a bag of rice just last week, and I am bald. See my predicament? Also, I am single, so buying stuff from one chain of stores for four weeks straight is weird. haha

  • $120 for me which is unobtainable

  • Gone up from the previous $60 to $70 per 4 weeks for me! hrmpf!

    • +1

I think they spy on people's spending habits (both Coles & Woolies do). The more you shop and spend in their stores the smaller the offers get. When you stop going to one of their stores for a few weeks then they start bombarding you with more and bigger offers.

      • +6

I think they spy on people's spending habits

Well they most definitely do. It's all statistics, demographics and marketing (even bits of psychology) that goes on behind the scenes that makes you most likely to visit but also to spend more.

It's why you should have at least 2 of both.

      • +3

        That’s not fair is it.

Rotating the family’s cards means I have a $50 and $70 spend, but will give the $90 and $100 offers a miss for a couple of months, apart from a $5 spend here and there :). They will drop back to $50 soon enough….

  • $60 for me

  • +2

I had $50 previously. Gone up to $60 as well. Not sure I'm going to bother this time around.

Also annoying that I had done my week's worth of grocery shopping yesterday already. Also didn't get offered the $10 discount for 2000 points when I did my shopping yesterday. How rude is that?

  • +2

Went up from $50 to $70 from the last offer. Time to spend money at Woolworths.

  • mine is also $60 per week over 4 weeks

  • 110 for me, last month 80 which I achieved. Prior to that I shopped at woollies the last several months so they are just baiting again.

  • Across 3 household cards I got $50/$60 spend for 10,000 points and $90 spend for 15,000 points

  • +1

I got $210 for 10k…. time to get a new card!

    • Glad it’s not just me with a high amount - $190.
Annoying thing is, I easily spend that in a week - but not in an individual shop.

      • Had $190 several months ago and did manage that, normally about $150 a week, by just doing one big shop and then adding in long life things… but recently they have given me one off spends of $230 and now $210 for 4 weeks and that’s just too much… only so much toilet paper I can stock up on.

        • lol are they tracking this…. also now sent "collect 9,600 BONUS POINTS when you spend $240 at Coles!" … might actually do that one, get two weeks shop in.

    • Same here. Won't bother trying and will punish them by going to Woolworths instead.

  • $80\wk for 15,000 points or $75 off - last round it was $60\wk for 10,000, and the round before that was $50/wk for 10,000. Definitely encouraging spending above my usual shop - the 3,600 points for $90 spend is just too high for me, and I think I'm going to skip this one

  • +1

    $50 for me.

  • I've heard that you just ignore a few of those activate for xx points emails and eventually the spending amount will reduce

  • +1

Every now and then, in your flybuys statement, you will get series of coupons which in my case contain coupons such as WEEK 1 Spend $50 get 2,000 points, WEEK 2 Triple Point on Single Coles Spend, etc etc.

Combine this with the periodical email / app offers such as what OP is saying means that if you spend $60 each week (that's my spend criteria by the way), you could potentially get 2,000 points week 1 (week 1 voucher), 180 points week 2 (triple voucher), 2,000 points week 3, 180 points week 4, then 10,000 week 5.

14,360 points ($70 equivalent) over 4 weeks doesn't sound too bad for $240 or 29.1% rate of return for one month.

    • Yeah I've currently got:
      - Triple Points on biggest shop (docket deal each week)
      - Double points on fruit & veg
      - 6500 points for $150 shop (one off)
      - 10000 points for $130 shop (4 weeks)

      $520 for 1560+6500+10000= 18000pts or $90.

Compared to $150 over 3 weeks for Woolies with $40 off (literally one offer). Wonder which I'll choose. Coles likes to send multiple offers that still aren't as one Woolworths offer?

  • $170 for 4 weeks, what I realize is if the amount go higher, not taking the promotion (not click the activate) it will drop a bit on next promotion, mine was $190 last time.

  • Seriously… Mine is $150. Not this time Coles. Thanks OP for the heads up.

  • +1

$50 minimum spend for me… I rotate between 4 cards so pretty much always get either $50 or $60 minimum spend on one of the cards. Trick here is to buy some stuff on all 4 cards each month.

  • +1

Mine is $70 which I won't activate. I'm losing interest in FlyBuys.

  • $80 which is pretty much my ceiling. Think ill do the new card trick too!

  • $160 for me. Jesus

  • $80 / week for 4 weeks. 🤨

  • $140 on one card that’ won’t be activated.
Other card is $60 this week extra 2800 ends tonight
Remember to check your dates first week is usually 10 days

  • The spending amount might depend on size of household (disclosed while you register flybuys card), how often you shop with coles and how much do you usually spend.
    Just guessing.

  • +1

Just out of curiosity, what does everyone use their points for?
I was a big fan of redeeming JB Hi fi gift cards but they have recently removed them and now i'm stuck for ideas.

    • Yeah I was saving them to buy something at JB Hifi… then when the day came boom not available anymore!

Kept most, on the off chance JB will come back again, but used a few on ebay things that were not in sales and got a few things in Target… I know i could just use them in Coles as its the same value but it just seems nicer to get something other than food with them.

    • +1

Convert it all into FlyBuys dollars ASAP.

Then whenever I go to pay at a WesFarmers store, I pay in this order:
      * First use any store specific vouchers (e.g. Kmart store credit from refunds) or store-specific egift cards (e.g. Coles eGift cards)
      * Then use FlyBuys dollars at Coles / Target / Kmart / First Choice Liquor / Liquorland, until the FlyBuys balance reaches zero.
      * Lastly use a credit card, preferably a Frequent Flyer one in the bonus period. (I don't have a way to buy Coles eGift cards at 5% off, but if I did I would instead be using the same card to periodically buy eGift cards).
      * I.e. always pay from most-restricted to least-restricted payment method.

I also have a rule that for groceries that I won't shop at Woolies or Coles unless they're offering me rewards ratio of >= 25% (e.g. $50 Flybuys dollars for 4 x $50 shops qualifies; as does Woolies spend $40 get $10 off instantly, or even better spend $50 get $15 off instantly). All other offers at a lower rate I ignore (unless I can stack them on top of a 25% off offer), and just shop at Aldi instead. So this year I'd estimate about 70% of our supermarket spend has been at Aldi, 20% at Coles (they've had quite a few reasonable offers this year, as they try to juice their numbers for the Coles spin-off), and about 10% at Woolies (they've been pretty rubbish this year with offers, need to step up their game).

    • You can use flybuys in ebay now, that's what I'm saving them for.

      • How do you use flybuys in ebay? I know you can earn flybuys point shopping at ebay but didn’t know you could use them there.

        • +1

You can redeem your Flybuys points to eBay voucher at Flybuys website. But the voucher cannot be stacked with any eBay voucher or eBay gift card code. 😂

          • @O O: So does that mean you can get a bunch of vouchers though flybuys and buy a TV for example? I was thinking of doing this..

    • +1

Ive been converting to velocity points during the 15% bonus points promo peripds (theres one currently) although might have to rethink that given the negative changes to the velocity program recently :(

      • +1

You can always use them for domestic flights which isn’t impacted by the devaluation.

        • Yeah which represents less value for the points. A reward flight from sydney to brisbane is 7800 velocity points + $28 taxes. Thats a terrible conversion rate for your points in my opinion.

          • @harthagan: Not if it’s used for last minute and peak season.

          • @harthagan: You don't have to pay taxes for velocity flights. I'd just use them that way.

    • +1

Velocity points mostly. I have the Coles CC that gives me 2 points per $1 for most things and transfer during the 15% bonus period. 6 months of Flybuys scored me 'free' $600 return Virgin flights the other day and I still have plenty left.

  • I didn't receive it this time :/

  • $110 for 4 weeks for $75 off a shop

  • Mine is $140…

  • Mine is $100. I've activated, but won't be chasing it in the first two weeks. If I happen to get through the first two weeks, I'll chase it from there.

  • +1

Thanks for the heads up OP. $50 for 4 weeks might be doable. Also got a liquorland offer: $40 for 3 weeks giving 10000 points. Time to stock up for Christmas

    • Same duo of offers here. $80 for 4 weeks ($60 last offer), with $45 for 3 weeks at Liquorland (was $30).

Gonna ice using the flybuys card at Coles for a couple of months to knock the next offer price back down. Will take a run at Liquorland as I can still find a couple of things that aren't marked up %30 on Dan Murphys prices…

    • Dang I never get liquorland offers, maybe they know I'm a booze hound?

  • Spend $50 for 10k points for me.

I usually shop at Woolies as I stack Wish gift cards and my partner's staff discount (5% off everything or 10% off Woolworths branded stuff).

I guess I might just buy $200 worth of Coles gift cards discounted through RACQ (4% off) or Suncorp Benefits (5% off) to make the most of the Coles offer :D

  • Thanks OP mine is $80 spend but for 15,000 points which I think I can definitely manage.

My question is I've got multiple bonus points offers i.e 2000 for $90 spend, 4400 for $110 spend and they're all activated right now. Can I spend $110 and cop points from all three offers at once?

  • FROM 50 TO 60~~

  • Minimum $240 for the Coles offer.

Also got an offer of points/$50 card for min. $60pw spend at Liquorland over 3 weeks.

    • Be careful with the Liquorland offer. I did one in September ($35 per week) for 10,000 points or the card and have not received the points. I rang about is and the CSO agreed I met all the requirements which I can also see on my statement. The only thing I do not have proof of is that I activated the offer, so if it shows up in your saved offers take a screenshot. Never had a problem with points/bonus for shopping or purchasing gift cards but just shows always need to check.

  • I have found though if you activate the deal and dont meet the spend they might offer a sweetener like spend x in the last week and get a bonus amount,

  • $250 for me - this is what annoys me with flybuys! Such a large spend in comparison to other posters but for the same amount of points…. Is it easy to run a second card/account ? Otherwise might be worth shopping at Woolies for 6 months and see if they entice me back

    • Dead easy, just sign up another family member. Just remember to NEVER EVER link them together into a household. It's a trap, because once you link them you cannot unlink them without manually phoning flybuys, and it means your points are all pooled together, so I think you probably get the same offers. I.e. it's all downside, just keep them separate.

      • So you can have seperate accounts with the same address?

        • I have 6, after all you could have a share-house. You also need them for when they have egiftcard offers but only one per account.

    • You are getting $250 based on how much you spend.

      Its not selected at random.

Best to have two accounts and split your spend in future.

      • Yep understand that, my point being the same amount of points are rewarded no matter the spend amount - I'd have to spend over $1000 this month to get $50 off (5% reward), others only $200 for $50 (25% reward) Larger spenders get less is all I'm saying! Going to open a dummy account and start splitting shops…

  • Strangely, I've activate my $50 spend offer, once on Flybuys website, and once on the Flybuys apps. They both showed up as activated, is there any chance double-dip the offer? 😏

    • +1

Me too. I think it will double dip

      • Yes they do double up/stack.

  • I have one expiring today - 6000 points if spend $150
This new one is 10000 points if spend $110 for 4 weeks

If I spend $150 today for the 6000 points, will that still count towards this new promotion?

    • +1

Yes, I've overlapped offers before, the spending is counted towards both offers.

      • Do you mean you got double points for spending the amount specified for one offer since the two offers overlapped?

        • In @bitcoin case, the spending of $150 will get 6,000 points, and also counted for the first week of the 4 X $110 spend.

          • @O O: Cheers. I have had one 'Spend $60 to get 2,400 points' offer that expires today, plus this four-week offer that starts today, and I have to spend $60 per week to get 10,000 points in the end (which is 2,500 points per week), so I am not sure if I'll get 2,400 points + 2,500 points (part of the four-week offer) for just spending $60 today or not. Might activate the four-week offer and give it a try.

  • $100 for $75, that's almost one weeks shopping for free!

  • Could you just buy gift cards and do your shopping at a later date (or use them for Christmas presents?)

    • No, spend on gift cards does not count.

  • $210 for me.

  • yep 4 x $60 spend for 10k points for me although I was consistently getting 4 x $50 frequently

    • +2

I previously had the same happen to me, after I did 3 rounds of 4 x $50 shops for 10,000 points, then after the last one they had a $60 target with a okay-ish number of points, and I was interested in buying what was on special anyway, so I did that. But then the next round of 4 weeks shops, they had upped the target to $60 but not increased the reward from 10,000 points. So I stopped shopping at Coles, and only resumed when the offers dropped back to 4 x $50 for 10,000 points. Now I keep my spend below $54 - I keep a ballpark running total of what's in my trolley, and have a few extra things in my trolley that I can take or leave that I scan last, and I make sure to just go over $50, and then hand any unneeded stuff back to the checkout assistants and say "sorry, I changed my mind" - and that seems to have done the trick.

      • How long did it take for the good offers to resume?
