Hi all. i came across this sign on bonus watching TV - sign up to CR with code BLACK
Offer is for today only. What's the catch?

  • To be eligible for the bonus you must be a NEW member and have made an individual qualifying transaction of $25 or more (sale value is as reported to CASHREWARDS by the retailer and may not include GST or other deductions) through CASHREWARDS
  • within 30 days of opening your new member account.
  • Qualifying transactions do not include Gift Cards, the Refer a Friend bonus offers or any other new member promotions.

    Yes it will - this is only a Sign On Bonus ($15) for new members, applied during the sign-on process. This code is not used when you make purchases.

      i doubt it as TA's post mentioned the following:
      What's the catch?
      * The friend must make at least one qualifying purchase of $20 or more within 90 days of joining for your $10 to move from pending to approved.
      * The friend must have at least $10.01 in their new accounts before they can withdraw their funds.

      ** A qualifying purchase means any purchase through Cashrewards which results in cashback to member (therefore excludes WISH cards etc).

      Yup, you will need to input code BLACK when you sign-up. The resulting welcome email will contain an additional graphic box that states $15 Welcome Bonus*

      This code is a sign on bonus for new members, not used when you make a purchase. When you make purchases on Amazon, you should proceed as usual to get the 12.5%

    None of my Cash Rewards purchase for the last 2 days have had email confirmation or show as anythign but aclick from the website. Though I'm very careful and follow the process and I have the chrome plugin advising me I'm good to go ( I log in and click from the CR webpage and just use that as a conformation). sigh.

      There is a Cashback Guarantee. Here is one of the sentence found inside the guarantee:
      If your transaction and pending Cashback does not appear in your CASHREWARDS account within 7 days (14 days for card-linked purchases) of your purchase date, your transaction journey from CASHREWARDS or the CASHREWARDS Notifier may have not registered properly. But don’t worry, we can look into it.

        Theres also how much is it worth me to fight for a few cents when its a 1% ebay purchase on $600 and a 12% on 69 at amazon yes I probably will .. but now I have to think about it for the next week then action then action it… its meant to be simple and easy and when it works it is but when it doesn't it just builds up a bad taste.

          Has happened to me on a few occassions, so i started taking screenshots in case i needed to raise a ticket.
          However even after providing these, and anything else they requested, it was knocked back despite their 'guarantee'.
          Was quite a large amount of $70, during their MS promo when it went up to 5% (purchased a Surface Laptop at the time), hence i thought it was worth the effort of following up.

          Like you said, it's left a bad taste, and I've since switched to, and referred others to, ShopBack who have, so far, been great.

      Unfortunately not. I see this in the Welcome Bonus 'blurb' - Qualifying transactions do not include Gift Cards, the Refer a Friend bonus offers or any other new member promotions.

    I assume this wouldn't work with with signing up for an energy company. I attempted to sign up with Alinta via the energy comparison link but I've recieved no confirmation except that it shows as a click. Is that how it normally works?
