yikes was about to post this, it actually came down to $68.50 delivered for me.

  • is that in USD?

    • No, AUD. Pay with 28 degrees or similar to avoid international transaction surcharges from your bank.

  • +2

    Yeah $68.50 AUD delivered
This must be the best black friday SSD offer! Cheers OP

    • Website doesn’t let me pay in USD.

How do you change the currency to USD ?

      • +1

I didnt change it, $68.60 on my visa

  • +2

Paid ~$160 for this exact same SSD four or five months ago on an eBay sitewide deal. Feelsbad.

    • Right there with you man. Thought I got a great deal, ha!

  • damn $68.50 for 500gb steal! purchased even though i don't need.

Website doesn’t let me pay in USD.

How do you change the currency to USD?

      • i just paid paypal and it was aud..

  • +2

GB/$ wise this is even a better deal than the Samsung Evo 1TB deal, and you don't have to deal with claiming cash back

Thanks OP, bought another SSD that I don't need.

  • I was looking at this same SSD yesterday. Most places have it for $125 so I thought i'd wait until Monday for a deal. Thanks!!

  • Got one. Thanks!

  • How are newegg to deal with and are these as good as Samsung drives.

    • Same performance as an 850 EVO

  • Anyone know if this can be put in an enclosure and used as an external SSD drive? If so, any recommendations of enclosures?

    Thanks

    • +2

Pretty sure you can. The PC can read external drives but youll need to set up the drive before you can use it as an external.

      • That's good if you don't bring your SSD with you to work but if you do, better to get a full enclosure for your SSD for protection.

        • i have used this on building sites, in my car and on a boat in PNG. dropped many times with no ill effects. an ssd is already in an enclosure it aint a spinner.

  • code 1 use per customer, easily create 4 accounts?

    • no problems here. two emails. same name and shipping info. ordered 2x for raid0

  • Sad that there's a $12 premium for the m.2 format, still an amazing deal at ~$83 though.

  • +1

Nice. Got the 500GB m.2 for about $13 more. Going to put it in an Intel NUC

    • Know of any good NUC deals (< $500)? Don't seem to have found any this Black Friday :(

      • Not seen any deals.
Looking to get the newly released 8th gen i3 though, so probably won’t be any deals around.

  • Amazing deal, I hope soon it will be 130$ for 1TB.

  • Weird won't let me sign up for an account.

    • You have to click “I’m not a robot” to sign up

      • +2

        Paulaus is a robot though…

  • Has anyone purchased from Newegg before? How long is the postage?

    • 2-3 weeks, on the longer side due to Xmas rush.

      • almost one month, still haven't received yet…

        • check your tracking number. mine has been delivered to Australia post and I had to collect it from there.

          • @msmhw: Thanks for your reply. no tracking update since 10 Dec. last activity: ARRIVAL AT DESTINATION COUNTRY

  • buy 2 of these for 136 or 1 samsung 1tb for 155 arghhhhhhhh

    • +1

if desktop no problem if laptop only one santa connector.

      • +4

Santa is magical, he can deliver all those bytes by himself using only one carrier 😆

    • Just buy SS as they are running cashback of $45 for 1TB
And buy 1 here for $70.10. You can never have enough of SSD.

  • this for $70.10, or Samsung 860 500gb for $80?

    • depends where the Samsung is …if local stock means you can get it quicker.

      • it's from Shopping Express, but I guess will go with Newegg's deal. at least I am saving $10 and there is no big difference between both of the SSDs.

    • may i have the link for samsung 860 500gb for $80 please. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks perfect for PS4 hard drive upgrade

  • Thanks OP, I grabbed one.
Got the Samsung 1TB from Newegg a few days ago for $193, thought that would do me for the rest of the year, then this one popped up.
    Couldn’t resist.
    Cheers :-)

thks, grabbed another 500GB ssd I didn't need, will us for music backup drive or downloads …better than pounding heads on a platter drive.

  • +1

Such a great deal :D. But I have decided not to buy any SSD less than 1TB from now on. My house is becoming a SSD warehouse lol XD

The website is still letting you place orders, but I received this half an hour ago:

Thank you for choosing Newegg International Inc.

We regret to inform you that your order has been voided due to insufficient stock. While our website may have indicated an in-stock status, one or more items in your order were not in stock at the time your order was to be fulfilled.

    Item List:
    1 x (AUD$91.00) : Crucial MX500 2.5" 500GB SATA III 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT500MX500SSD1

    • +1

      Looks like being ozbargained.

    • In a fit of optimism I ordered one about an hour after your warning post, and the order was apparently accepted at the $68.60 price. I've been expecting a "We regret to inform you" message, however no such message has so far arrived, and this morning I received this:

      Subject: Newegg - Invoice

Thank you for shopping at Newegg International Inc.

This is the invoice and receipt for your recent order. Please keep a copy for your records.

So I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

If you look around the NewEgg site you can also use this promo code to get a 480Gb ADATA SSD for AUD$58 delivered.

  • got one

  • website shows stock, should I place an order?

  • Hmmm price has jumped somewhat Best I can get is $118 AFTER the promo code is supplied.

  • $98.14 now. Guess they realised it was a good deal, declined orders due to "no stock" and then somehow managed to locate some and bumped the price. Ah well.

    • I can see the newegg one is out of stock. You might see the "in stock" from other sellers (which has higher price)

  • Upon reflection this wasn't even that good of a deal compared to the other ridiculous specials with the newegg coupon. I found 8GB 1600mhz ripjaw ddr3 ram for $63. Not for everyone but if you are in the market for DDR3 this is unbelievable.
