Will Coles express price match ?

    • +1

Its probably left over Coles Express fuel, that they cant sell at their normal 10-20c higher prices LOL

      • +5

Yeah well come down to Taree NSW, 3.5 hours north of Sydney and enjoy the $1.59 per litre pricing (91 ULP) that haven't moved at all this month (outright gouging - theft).

I'll take this Liberty Qld pricing any day.

    What’s the diesel price?

  • +2

I remember working at my local servo as a kid around 14 years ago when petrol first hit $1. Had all these people demanding I justify the price, I had to refer them to OPEC.

  • Drive to QLD ??

  • Literally drove past this and thought damn that's cheap and perhaps a price error haha

  • What is the normal price?

  • +1

    I don’t wanna drive 42km for that 99c e10. Just a lazy QLDer:p

    • Uber or putting your car on a tow truck will both get you there.

  • I think this will be the normal price as Oil price crashed on the markets Friday

    • +1

Oil price is a small influence on petrol price, unless it's going up, in which case petrol price goes up.

    94 e10 is also a good fuel.

It means they started with a 91 base petrol, rather than an 87 base petrol, like BP does.

Even if you dont run it all the time, if your car only needs 95, a good blend of 98 and 94e10 (1:1) will give you an e5 mix.

Even with a fricked o2 sensor, this would only be 1.3% leaner (basically ANY car should handle that) and will be 10x better than ANY 'in tank' injector cleaner you can buy. (Probably literally, most in tank cleaners are 500ml of impure hydrocaarbons).

From 300kw wrx's, to evo 7's, to mums peugeot, all us 'car nerds' who actually enjoy the science behind how we run our stuff, will run a tank of 94e10 as a fuel system cleaner.

Hell, my 20psi boosted gc8 used to run exclusively on freedom 97e10 before they discontinued it.

0 knock. Ethanol blend fuel is fricking amazing.

All the scare stories came from the usa where they tried to force e20, and cars blew up because ecs's couldnt long term trim an additional 6% fuel, on top of whatever poor maintenece they already recieved.

91e10 is bad news, but 94e10 is a gift to anyone who wants a clean burning fuel.

Even my carbed bike and chev get 1:2 e10:98 blend to clean the jets out.

Dont stress, single tank exposures to low concentration of ethanol is so unlikely to swell fuel hose its almost laughable.

Various -anols are found in fuel anyway, it HAS TO be able to handle moderate concentrations of them.

Is your daytime job a maths professor?

    • Omg I have no idea what these words mean. You seem to know what you are talking about so I'm going to ask you a question. I don't have a nice car or anything so e10 is fine in mine but I don't use it because it seems to burn much quicker than other fuels. Is this true and if so, at what price would e10 be worth buying even though it burns quicker? (for example, I would get this 99c stuff compared to 95 at 140c)

      • i feel e10 lasts longer…

      • Ethanol has a lower energy density than refined petroleum, so your feeling is correct, more ethanal needs to be combusted in order to achieve the same amount of work as does petrol.

I don't know the ratio off the top of my head, but you could look it up and do the math reasonably.

The OP was talking about cleaning properties, important for all of us for engine longevity; and detonation (knock) which is important for high compression and/or forced induction engines to prevent damage.

Ethanol has a much higher RON compared with Petrol, but lower energy density, so when mixed at an appropriate ratio you get the higher octane properties without sacrificing energy density.

        • So I know the effectiveness of E10 is different depending on what car so its making it difficult to google the ratio. Is there some sort of community spreadsheet or something that people have made graphing the effectiveness in there cars? If not idk how to find this ratio and dont have the time or money to test it myself.

          • @AlmightyBeing: Yes there are factors to consider such as compression ratio. However the basic energy density won't be affected. I'll look it up for you:

            23.5:33.5 Ethanol to Petroleum.

This means that effectively Petrol has about 42% more energy per unit volume. So all other things being equal, you'll travel 42.5% further on 100% Petrol vs 100% ethanol.

            The article says:
"That means there’s about 30 per cent less energy in a tank full of ethanol, compared with the same volume of petrol. And that means there’s about three per cent less energy in E10 compared with regular petrol."

  • Where in QLD or all Liberty fuel stations will be offered at this price?

    • +1

Maybe you need Derek to help out Heading says Yamanto (Derek as in specsavers) LOL

  • Only one station in Australia offering this?

  • Did they replace the fuel tanks in the reno ,
or is it still free water at
    ' no extra cost '.

    • Yeah I don't use independents for this very reason. If something happens, there's no big company behind them to take care of things

      • The insurance companies that provide insurance to independents aren't big?

      • If you google the liberty story and have a good read, you will discover that liberty is far from a little independent operator. We are part of Viva energy the largest distributor of fuel in Aust. I won't go on and on but i was surprised to read just how big we really are, for example all coles express stations are not owned by coles but are leased from Viva Energy.

That water isn't free. It's charged out at the same cost per litre as the fuel… :D

Ironically, still cheaper than buying water by the bottle in the store.

  • if you're in vic…petrolspy shows that e10 for 105.9 at Metro resevior south (not sure if accurate though)

  • Yeah!

    Let's party, like it's 0999!
