    not sure if it'll be better than windows movie maker (RIP) but for free, we'll see what sort of blockbusters can be made without IAP.

    I did a little digging on the Microsoft store and it seems there is some kind of dodgy co-ordinated marketing campaign for these editing apps, getting clicks and downloads because of the ridiculous savings.
    eg.

      I was about to install them all then checked the stars and review and skipped them.

      Don't wanna further complicate my library with duplicates, whereas the one the OP posted has a solid 4.5 so that's good.

    The reviews say it has popup ads so I am guessing you now pay through IAPs.
    Also I noticed one of the permissions baked in is "Access your Internet connection and act as a server." which is a hard no from me for a video editor.

      I've revoked my +1 after looking into the basis of yours and other's comments.

      These should be huge red flags to most people.

      Just download DaVinci Resolve which has been a free video editor for a long time and gets great reviews without any shameful advertisements in program, in app purchases or dodgy networking traffic.

      I can't neg the deal after revoking my +1, but I think people should be negging this deal considering there's much better free alternatives that don't act as malware.

      I really hate how dirty the Microsoft app store is. I remember seeing so many dodgy apps with deliberately misleading titles and descriptions asking for lots of money and not delivering on the goods. This is one reason why they've failed in this.

        However, one of the major criticisms of the Apple App Store is that they insist on minimum standards, they curate and perhaps even 'censor'.

      I got the app mistakenly thinking that it was from Microsoft - it's from a group I've never heard of called 'DreamLights Apps'. Revoked my +1 after reading the comments and realise that it's not a MS product.

    Has anyone regretted this download? I am resetting my PC now as it crashed about 30 minutes after install and first use (trimmed a short video and closed file). Now my computer is unable to boot and start windows. I am resetting back to default settings :( hope it works or I won't know how to fix my computer.

    Bullcrap on the $300 previous price, has ad banners in it. DO NOT INSTALL!

      I actually saw this deal last night and was thinking about trying it out just for fun. I already have Cyberlink PowerDirector 16 package which I paid $60AUD for which I am very happy with. Thank god I went through the comments again just now.
