  • Looks good - but if our account is with ebay.com.au, can we still use the $15 with it?

  • i wonder how many of us qualify for this
Valid only on eBay.com in the U.S.

  • could find any working link on ebay gift cards

  • i know i can still logon ebay.com and ebay.co.uk with my account, so it might work.

You just need to purchase things through ebay.com and pay in US dollars?

of course you may need to find someone who ships to Australia first!

    • you can still buy items listed in the aus site
just copy the item number and then paste it in the search box in the us site, et voila there's your item.

      • ooh good idea.

but i do buy a lot of junk from the USA anyway so will come in handy!

I put in those details and got this: http://tiny.cc/emqy2

  • .

  • Also it never asked me for a US state or postcode.

When I entered my credit card details in it, it had Australia and all the states listed too.

  • People on Slickdeals are buying 60+ at a time. It appears that the EBAY credit works as soon as you buy it.

smart. but will it work in AUS

    • how can they buy 60+ at a time?
it says limit one per person
      one per order

      • Sorry, 60 via 60 different transactions via 60 different groupon accounts…with 60 monkeys typing.

        • Ok now that's just too much work….

        • wow
          $900 down to $420, saving of $480

not bad for approx 3 hours work(approx 3 mins per account)

          alot of work though

        • Not really too much work when you think about it.

          make a groupon account,
          buy the deal

List a "but it now" item on ebay for $15USD with no postage,

create a ebay account, buy your item and you just made $8USD Profit.

          Repeat 60 times…

        • Although to make a groupon account you will need 60 email address, which you have to keep a note of
making an email address will be about 1 minute already

        • Buy a .info domain name ($1) and use catch all, unlimited number of emails at your disposal that way.

Too late, people are reporting on slickdeal that this deal doesn't work anymore because of abuse (people buying 60 etc). Looks like a lot of people made big bucks out of this.

create 10 groupon accounts, buy 10 ebay credits, create ebay US account and sell something, pay using another ebay account. vallah. profit??

  • wow its an over $2 million dollar givaway

    lol at this sucker:

After much research tonight regarding why my account may have been suspended on eBay, I believe I have found the answer. For those of you who don't know what happened to me, I got greedy and purchased 50 of these groupon gift cards and used them to purchase ebay gift cards from giftcardmall. I then received an email this afternoon from ebay that my account was suspended. The email I received told me to contact [email protected] to appeal my suspension. After googling what [email protected] is, it looks like it is a loss prevention company that teams up with eBay and retailers to prevent theft! I'm guessing that they found my account on eBay because my user ID is the same as on slickdeals, meaning there is likely a groupon representative in here watching this thread and what is said in it. Now I have a suspended account and I'm facing possible fraud charges if they decide to take this to the next level. The $350 free dollars I received definitely was not worth any of this. I'm now realizing how very stupid this was….you don't think this could happen when you're buying the gift cards and honestly, you don't care at that time because you get caught up in the hype of it since everyone else is getting so many free gift cards. Then it happens and you suddenly realize how foolish you were. Just a warning for those of you who have tons of gift cards and haven't yet used them on ebay, you might be better off admitting your wrongs and contacting groupon for a refund in exchange for the unused codes. Trust me, it is not worth the headache and worries that I'm currently going through.

suspisions about this, sounds like either a group buy deal rep or an ebay rep

      Was it Broden?

      • +8

        Broden shows no remorse.

        • +7

Yeah but he could have been using reverse psychology, so that others stopped buying them and yet he continues business as usual.

    • Thanks for sharing, Sorry to hear about your dilema, I guess it shows the the OZ_BRODEN way does not always work and can come back and haunt you….

  • I just bought two giftcards using the same credit card (one order was in my name, the other in the name of my partner). No voucher received just yet (says to wait up to 48 hours), which is annoying because I want to use it to pay for a purchase right now. :)

No need to sign up for a Groupon account or put in a fake US postcode, either.

  • Doesn't really work guys. You need a valid US paypal account. Otherwise you can't complete the transaction. I had to ask for a refund.

    • How do you mean, did you got the screen where it says all completed and "can take up to 48hrs for delivery to your email address". I had an aussie paypal and ebay account and it was completed with no errors.

      • @shop, Are you referring to the purchase of the Groupon voucher or the EBAY purchase?

    • Where does it even ask for a paypal and ebay account? There's no such information requested during the order, unless I did something wrong.

      • +2

Sorry let me clarify. No problems purchasing the groupon voucher. Its when you try to order off eBay. The voucher is not valid on eBay without a valid US verified paypal account.

        • Thanks, saved me wasting $140.

        • yep - one of the things that suck is that address' outside the USA/canada cannot be paypal verified. Even if you've bought sold hundreds of items with the paypal account.

      • sweet, lol, ive got a Canadian verified, thnx for posting the deal.

  • Can confirm this doesn't work on Australian PayPal. The credit works fine and offsets against your purchase price on eBay, until you login to PayPal when you then get the message:

X-8483: This Redemption Code is not valid.

If anyone does have a US registered PayPal account and got this to work and wants more cheap credit (the deal is over now) - let me know. I'll be happy to pass on the code for what I paid for it. I only have one.

    It was worth a try.

  • Sparkles if you can be bothered just email groupon and they will refund you the money.
