Edit #2 - PLAYDAY promo code for 10% off toys works (no minimum spend).
25% off eligible items works for managed payment sellers.

E.g Quick Parts.
R&L Supply LLC
L-E-WAREHOUSE

The 25% off is DEFINITELY not sitewide.

Edit #1 - there are two separate deals being run here by eBay US. Each deal has its own promo code.

Deal 1 - 25% off eligible items (promo code PSAVE25)
Another sale from ebay US though this doesn't go live till 3am.

ebay gift cards are ineligible based on prior experience. Won't know if Australian based products are eligible until the sale goes live.

Let's hope this deal doesn't turn out to be a disappointment like the UK deal from yesterday.

        • A point in the T&Cs has me a bit concerned where it says:

1.Eligible items will have the coupon code PSAVE25 displayed on the checkout page.

Keen to see if it is everything though

          • @frogduck: I doubt it is sitewide but will need to wait till it starts to confirm.

            • @Taegukgi: If it is not sitewide, what categories is it? Just toys?

              • +1

@Retailrecommprice: Toys & Hobbies and Dolls & Bears.

Lol. 240 upvotes for this before we knew!

Must admit I'm bummed. Although I haven't tried the ebay US trick yet.

                • @justtoreply: OP was updated since this post. This post is now wrong.

                  • @justtoreply: It is not wrong. EBay US are running two deals. One is 25% off eligible items and the second is 10% off toys. You should know that I cannot post deals from the same store within hours of each other.

You should also see there is two different promo codes.

                    • @Taegukgi: I meant MY above post was wrong. That's how it seemed, things changed a bit over time. I would have edited my comment, but the comment was too old.

            • @Taegukgi: Fingers crossed!

      • How so? There are adult toys :p

  • Looking for a decent CPU cooler. Any recommendations?

Finally fulling the trigger on that chalking trowel eh?!

    • I'm prepared for a sea of red (negs) tomorrow!

      • It won't be a sea…..as too many have already given the deal a +. The worst we can do is a retraction!

        • And then followed by a -

          • +2

@Taegukgi: Unless things have changed, you can't neg a deal you've give a + vote to. Only retract.

        • I haven't voted yet ;)

    • What does managed payments mean?

  • I think we are all being supremely optimistic that the "elligable products" will cover things such as branded electrics. Time will tell.

    • Agree. Best we be prepared for the worst.

      • Lol.

The relatively modest "Max discount“ gives me cause to be more optimistic than I would otherwise be.

Edit: on reflection, the "no minimum spend" offsets most of that optimism.

It doesn't start til 3am here AEDST.

      • I mean you can tell whether or not it will work before it even goes live based on the error message

=( This code can't be applied to your order.
    Another disappointment…..

    • Same for me, tried with different items too, same result.

  • 10% off toys (promo code PLAYDAY) works. Tried on some new and second hand Legos in Australia.

  • Example of eligible items for PSAVE25. Note - US based.

  • +4

Not a bargain. No one has been able to find a single 25% eligible item. 10% off toys? Big deal. Use the existing pudding.

    • +1

Pudding expired last night. But agreed not sure I could be bothered with the US account etc for a % off we've probably all heavily utilised already.

      • +1

Indeed a complete waste of members' time. Not a single useful item. People find rubbish elsewhere and bring it on here as gold because we're in Australia.

  • my US ebay account that i've had since August got suspended just in time for this :\

i'd made about 5 transactions prior, had +4 feedback rating, still banned for no fathomable reason. last thing i bought was using the 15% app discount that has thankfully been delivered to my US address

  • +12

This is why I don't upvote ebay deals until they're proven to work. 307 upvotes and how many got a deal?

    • +1

I agree with you. I do the same too.

      • Don't neg cause the Oznazis will find you

  • +1

    Huge nice juicy nothing burger.

  • +7

25% off is a dud deal. Nothing I like to buy from those sellers.
People who upvote an eBay deal before it comes to effect are optimistic fools. Like they say don't count the chicken before the eggs hatch. I don't upvote a deal until it comes true. Not going to neg this deal either because chibot has been very helpful in OzB.

    • +1

Don't give ebay free advertising for junk deals and border discrimination!

But many thanks for chibot's posts on OzB.

  • It sounds like they're only giving a discount off Adyen sellers? There's been a fair bit of resistance from the US seller community to using it as so many users get confused by the new screens that aren't Paypal and just hit the back button.

Boo.. I am moving back to Aus.
