        Thanks for your suggestions.

      • Just checked my Amex account and the $1 refund is there already. No Amex credit yet. I will wait a couple of days and see if it turns up.

        • +1

I’ve done 5, 2 with refunds to be under $40, both received credits and still ok a week later

        • Thanks for the info SydneySwan and Coops1. This is the only thing stopping me from using this offer. So if it continues OK I may go ahead.

          • +1

@Yola: This offer is still very worthwhile, effectively 25% discount on a $40 order. Just order up to $45 worth of stuff and your covered for any minor refund and your still ahead. Noting we shop and spend Woolies and Coles all the time so the spend is not an issue. I have finished all my 5 Amex's on Woolies and Dan Murphys, with 2 of 5 against MenuLog. Easy Money to me as its spend we would do anyways!

    • its one or more transactions, unless you plan to place another order before the expiry date.

      • +1

I don't want to do multiple transactions on one card as I have several cards. So on each card I want to do one transaction of $40.

    • I got the same email and didn't return bags either.

    • +2

I predict that you do not need to do anything and keep the $10 back for good. Because $1 refund will be a separate transaction that may not have anything to do with the previous transaction.

      • I hope you are correct.

Does buying alcohol from Woolworths.com.au (guessing through BWS) eligible for the offer?

    • Nope. Confirmed with Amex BWS is not included in this offer.

      • Correct. However, Alcohol is one of the categories on Woolies' website, so I'm guessing that Woolies would process the payment.
Anyway it's probably cheaper to get the grog via Uncle Dan as BWS is typically more expensive…

        • -1

But you can only take advantage of this offer once at Dan Murphys.

        • Not sure why I got a neg. I just called Amex. They confirmed the terms should be interpreted: one purchase of $40 or more per business

      • +1

Just bought a bottle of wine via Woolworths.com.au and received the 10 back e-mail

For good measures, stacked with the Woolies Rewards Spend >50 x3 points - brought the wine to exactly the same as Uncle Dan and get Woolies Rewards plus CashRewards 2% :)

    • With the $10 credit it makes it the same as price as going to Dan Murphys without the credit.

      • Yeah I know, just the weekend passed had the Woolies Rewards points special

  • Question - if I spend $20.00 on Menulog in two separate transactions, would this trigger the credit?

    • +1

spend $40 or more, in one or more transactions

      I'd say yes :)

      • -1

I think it's $40 or more per transaction.

        • From past experience, that wording is interpreted my AmEx as "spend a total of $40 or more across multiple transactions, where the total spend charged to the card is ≥ $40.

  • Purchased gift cards today. All went through a security check but got confirmation email.

    Happy days.

  • Purchased and received credits for Dan Murphy and Menulog. Now looking to make some purchases on Woolies online but for some reason, the Offer has disappeared from my Saved offer even though I have only used it twice.

    Has anyone experienced this?

    • Yes. As soon as you used the offered, it will disappeared from the saved offer.

    • Yes this has been discussed as being quite common. It has been reported that it will still work.

      • Thanks guys.

        • Thanks for this information, was just wondering what was going on!

          • @treeman: Can confirm that I just purchased at Woolies and got the e-mail to state I have used the offer.

  • Attempting to buy $40 digital GC from DM. Getting a 'your bank has declined the payment..' message. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

    • +1

I did but I had the same issue with all Woolworths Groups websites (Big W, Dans, Woolworths, eGiftCards through CashRewards) no matter which credit card I used. I managed to find out Woolworths Group were blocking my email address and I was told to use a gmail one instead. I changed my Dan Murphy's account to a gmail email and it went straight through.

      • I managed to find out Woolworths Group were blocking my email address and I was told to use a gmail one instead.

How did you find this out?

        • Called the phone number listed for everydaygiftcards on Cash Rewards. First time I called, the guy said he'd call me back with why my transactions weren't processing but never did. Following week I called and spoke to a different guy that could see the attempted transaction and said he'd follow up - a week later he called back explaining zoho.com emails were blocked from purchasing from everydaygiftcards. I've contacted Zoho to contact Woolworths Group and they said they're waiting for their response.

      • Thanks for the tip. I checked out as a guest in my last 2 attempts at buying a $40 digital GC. Will create a DM account and try again.

  • Where do you find the Wish gift cards on Dan Murphys website?

  • +2

Looks like the DM gift cards have been disabled over the Xmas period

    • sugar

    • Place an order for $40 worth of booze to drown your sorrows.

    • Disabled? You mean buying them or using them?

      • Nope, can't purchase them online (see the link from Carlenet above). Page comes up with the following message:

We are temporarily unable to process gift cards online.
We apologise for any inconvenience. Please choose from the following options to purchase gift cards.

And alternative option to purchase them (phone, in store or via Everyday gift card portal)

And alternative option to purchase them (phone, in store or via Everyday gift card portal)

You won’t get the Amex statement credit though if you buy them this way (not sure about phone, but definitely not for in store or the portal)

@kerfuffle: Will this get fixed in time!

            • +2

@tlai: I don’t know; I don’t work for any company listed in this post :/

            • @tlai: Called them up, they are working on it, but no estimate at this time.

              • @tlai: Yes they don't have an estimated time to fix. Has anyone tried ordering on phone and triggered the Amex offer? Not sure if they would count it as online transaction or not.hoping they would….

                • +4

@Tems: Tried ordering on call and worked. I asked the customer rep to add the giftcard to my cart and then did the checkout and payment myself. Received the Amex email instantly…

                  • @Tems: So you called and they can add the card to your online order?

                    • @tlai: Yes.i just called them and gave them my email id with which I have a dan murphys account. They added the giftcard card to my cart. Then I just checked it out on website and paid normally as I would. As expected it triggered the Amex email.

                      • +1

@Tems: Will give this a try on Monday, if it's still not working.

                        • @tlai: Otherwise you could always buy some alcohol :)

                      • +1

@Tems: I called them this morning.
They were not able to add the gift card to my cart.

                        • @Melbournian: Oh no :(

                        • @Melbournian: Ohh that's not good. Probably their system went down again. I had 2 added yesterday with no issues. Customer rep had told me while there were still had issues doing it from the website they were able to do it since past 2 days.

                          • @Tems: I called them today and did a Phone order.

  • +3

hope they fix the DM gift card issue before the 31st is up..

  • the link is not working, saying it's under contruction…

  • I just made a Woolworths order and received the Amex email immediately.

  • Anyone tried their DM gift card at Big W?

Tried yesterday and got rejected :S

    • I had the same problem at Kmart.

      • I hope that wasn't a serious comment …

        • same at costoco

    • I can see the logic though. DM gift cards are essentially the same as Wish Gift Cards and since you can scan your Woolworths Rewards card at Big W to collect points, you'd think you would be able to use the DM gift card at Big W.

  • Placed an order for Woolworths online recieved the $10 cash back instantly. Placed an order today from Dan Murphys online haven't received an email?

    • Did you use it at Event Cinemas, The Iconic or Menulog? You can only use it max three times so if you did Event Cinemas, Menulog and Woolies, then you wouldn't get the Dan Murphy's e-mail

      • No this was the only time second one i used. I did go through cash rewards though so unsure of that was the issue.

        • +2

CashRewards shouldn’t affect it. Hopefully you get the credit!

        • +1

I have used cash rewards with these and received the Amex emails.

  • +1

We are temporarily unable to process gift cards online. crap wish i had brought them earlier on.

    • Same here, i was waiting to buy it after Christmas

  • +1

Called just now (1300 72 33 88) and got them to manually add the gift card to my cart then checked out on website and paid via amex card

    • I called them and they couldn't add it to cart manually.

  • Called a very grumpy DM customer service person but eventually managed to purchase a $40 dollar GC. Received the amex email instantly

    • I have a feeling there's many people calling them at the moment.

    • Did you make the purchase over the phone? Or was it manually added to your cart online?

      • +1

over the phone - has to read out cc details

        • Thanks mate, it seems like the phone and online portal is the same according to Amex then.

Great, will give them a call too.

  • got one too… the rep knows how much i want to order … lol … poor guy must be ozbargained … on NY eve…

  • Got new years menu log order which was nice.

Used this deal 8 times in total.

    • Did you order yesterday?

      • yes.
