    • I shop a lot at Aldi but find that they do not stock everything. Even Aldi used to say in their ads to go there as well as the big supermarkets.

      Username checks out.

    • +3

Good for you. Can’t believe your wasting your time even commenting though……….I’m happy to get my petrol 25% off…..even 33% off factoring in discount vouchers. More for the rest of us. Cheers

    • -3

a bunch of cheap drivers getting excited at fueling up at woolworth petrol

      • +1

Sorry to offend others, I was trying to say there are other use than just opal, I actually use the petrol myself and am only calling myself "cheap" using other people's word that I disagree.

I actually support the spirit of ozbargain and 25% off is a deal. I only used the word "cheap" to make it sound wrong so our member who dont care realises taking up a promotion with multi-purpose is not cheap but reasonable and close to superior.

    • +4

But that is why we are all here - to get deals. It all depends on how many cards you have. Some people here have more than 20.

    • +4

As a full-fare paying adult, any savings on Opal is welcome.

    • +2

ozbargain doesn't seem like a place for you mate

      • +4

Definitely not a place for him for the rest of the year since he’s now in the Penalty Box

  • -4

Not working on my cards. Targeted

    • Read page 2.

  • Heads up, your order has been randomly selected for a security check and may be delayed by up to 15 minutes. We apologise for the inconvenience.

got email confo from amex and DM at the same time.

    • Yeah we got that too but you should be fine

  • +3

so basically that firefox edit can be used for any manual link amex offers? didnt know until today.

  • So did you guys all buy two $20 DM egfit cards? Trying to do that right now

    • +11

You can change it to a $40 one by selecting "other" and putting $40, that's what I did :)

  • For those that are registered if you combine with this deal
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/421724#comment-6671449
brings the price down to 25 cents per roll and minus 2.5% from shopback on top.

  • my 2nd dans gift card got the security flag emai,

however I got the credit email as well,

best case scenario is I get the $10 credit and get a refund :)

  • Happy to report all transaction went through without a hitch and all wish cards as well.

  • ive used a fair few on my cards for dans and woolworths,
unfortuantely, the other merchants Idont use,

feels like such a waste :)

  • Anyone got the amex confirmation on the $10 statement credit.

    • +2

credit notification cemail from amex was delivered almost immediately. the gift card itself took overnight around 11 hours.

  • Tried to buy DM eGC on 2 of my cards. Both got message on failed payment form DM's website:

We have received a decline message from the bank for your debit/credit card payment, please try again or contact your bank.

However I saw both $40 pending on Amex, and both Confirmation emails already.

Should I contact Amex for refund? or DM for GC? Thx

    • +1

you probably got the best possible scenario

$10 credit and no need to purchase $40 gift card from DMs

      id be thanking AMEX!

      • +2

Yeah, nah. i'd be grateful, but it will never happen. From past experience

If pending is ultimately cancelled, Amex will claw back the statement credit.

Else, it's just payment as usual. Lol

    • +1

This happened to me! For some reason neither my main or supplementary Qantas Discovery card will be accepted by Dan Murphys, with the same declined message. The transaction just appears as pending and I'm hoping will drop off.

    • same issue here with plat edge.
pending on amex but registered as used offer.
      declined from DM.
bit confused on what should I do now.

  • Just a heads up. I was one of the lucky early folks who registered 3 Amex cards using the manual link and soon as it was posted on Friday.
I logged into my Amex account and confirmed the offer was saved to my card - which it was.
I purchased a $40 digital card from Dan's website - I received the usual confirmation email from Amex.
The gift card eventually arrived on Saturday and I checked my Amex account again today to see if they have given me the $10 yet.
The offer is no longer saved to my card - it has been removed.

    • +3

Yep, it does that for some offers. Don’t worry.

    • +2

As long as you got the confirmation email, it will be just fine

    • Same here.

    • It probably is not visible coz u have already redeemed it once. Check using the app..it would either be in the expired section or in ur transaction listing close to the date when u saved it..
I got my DM CB on all 5 of my cards and I wasn't targeted.

    • Sall good - I did get the $10 from Amex.
It still doesn't show online in the 'saved to my card' section, however it does show on the app as recently redeemed.

      • I've found with some offers that have multiple uses, the offer gets moved from "saved" to "used". Can still use it for more offers at least :)

  • Just did $50 purchase instore on woolies. Still haven't received the tracking email. Anyone having same iasue?

    • +12

      You should have ordered online.
      This is an online-only offer:

Save the offer to eligible Card, spend $40 or more, in one or more transactions, in-app or online at a participating brand by 31/12/18 to get a $10 credit

      • oops my bad, thanks didn't realize that

    • With Dan Murphy’s gift card? If not, the Woolworths purchase has to be online to receive the credit.

  • +6

Got my two lots of $10 credit from Dan Murphy’s!

    • Ditto :)

    • +3

First credit posted. Now to buy the offer on other cards I registered.

    • +6

Yep - got all four $10 credits from $40 Dan Murphys gift cards. I used the Firefox hack to manually enrol so it should work for everyone.

    • Same here! I got in early when the manual linked worked without hacks.

      • got email confirmations right away after using it but havent receive the $10 yet already 2 days (bought on saturday used on sunday) — a bit worry now

        • Hi have yo got the credit?

          • @baron33: Yes last night.

            • @CyberMurning: Thanks — I spent the money on Tuesday but haven't got it — so just check with you. (although 2 days)

              • +2

@baron33: If you received the email from Amex, dont worry, your credit will come in.

  • worked with firefox

  • Anyone getting this message when purchasing an egift card at DM:
"Could not find inventory information for item with Stockcode:GC_D_OTH at Store:8888"

EDIT - worked on 4th attempt

  • Does anyone know whether you will still get credit if you go through PayPal paying with your Amex card?

    • +4

      Not working with paypal

      • Oh thanks, that's where I went wrong!! I should have read the terms!

  • +1

Has anybody tried buying wish cards from wollies online and got the cashback?

    • +2

No one’s going to try as they won’t get the credit; Woolies gift cards are sold on a separate site.

      • -1

but it still gives you 3x Amex Edge points so Amex thinks that website is part of woolies.

        • Feel free to try but I'm sure you won't get the credit. My Amex gives me three points per dollar at Starbucks, Dan Murphy's and Officeworks (amongst others) but they're not supermarkets or petrol stations …

  • +1

My Woolies Money app is now full of $40 egiftcards.

    • Well done - so is mine.

    • +1

Is $40 GC denomination avaiable ?

      • +1

Yes you select 'other' and specify it.

  • +2

Can this offer be registered manually now? I clicked the manual registration link but got error page:

    https://offerenroll.americanexpress.com/enroll is under construction
Stay tuned. Please email us if you need to get in touch.

    • Huh, I just went to the website and saw the same thing. Looks like amex pulled down the page since too many people were doing the manual enrolment? You won't be able to use the manual link anymore :(

      • Yes, Amex disable the manual link on Monday, 3 December 2018.

  • Have just found that the Woolworths Money App has a limit of 10 cards. First World problem!

    • You got an Android? If so, store them on Google Pay (you’ll have to manually update the balance yourself though)

      • iPhone 8.

        • +1

Guess you could just write down the numbers in your Notes app

          • +1

@kerfuffle: just keep the email with the gift card in your inbox as unread. So you will know later

  • Gah

Not sure if I’ve ended up with a just dan Murphy’s card?

I swear I used to get the wish one, but when I went online this was the only option, and now the emailed gift card says

You can use your card to shop over 13,000 products on danmurphys.com.au or in any Dan Murphy's store nationwide.
    Happy shopping!

Any idea if it works at woolies?

    • +3

As long as the long gift card number starts with 6280, it’ll work at Woolies. Which you would have known had you read the comments …

      • +1

Ah damn yes I read that days ago when the offer first came out then forgot! Thanks for the reminder. 6280 it is :)

    • +2

Yes, it work in Woolies. You can see the digital Online gift card number starting in 62800055500XXXXXXX, then you will see the In-store digital gift card number starting in 009XXXXXXXXX

    • There are only 3 types of gift cards: WISH, Essentials, and Groceries only. All work at Woolies supermarkets.

  • +1

    Great deal.
Don't forget to delete your payment methods @ Dan Murphys My Account page if you're safety conscious

  • anyone got problem to use Dan murphys gift card? I purchased $50 dan murphys gift card by amex, I added to my Woolworths money app, I used once with some credit left. recent few days, I tried to use it again, it shows OFFLINE. I can't even check balance via everyday gift card website.

  • Very new to this, so it should work for groceries shopping at Woolworths online right?

  • Does anyone know if Dan Murphys phone orders count as online orders/will trigger the bonus?

I'm asking because my wife wants to buy some sparkling wine that's currently cheaper at First choice liquor ($17 vs $25 @ DM), and I've used the DM web form asking them to price match, yet as I have no idea how long they'll take to update their web site, I would do the order over the phone (where I know they price match no problems), but I want to trigger this credit as well.

    • +4

I very much doubt it will trigger the credit. They will put it through as if you bought in-store.

  • Does anybody know if this offer would stack with CR or ShopBack, i.e. if I make purchase on Menulog or ShopBack through them and pay with my AmEx would I get the cashback AND the $10 statement credit?

    • +2

yep.. CR/Shopback dont 'see' your amex promo, so it makes no difference to that eligibility

      • Done 8 transactions already and no tracking with cash rewards. DM and woolies
        Will try ShopBack next

Also cashrewards have been known to knock back claims when using Amex cash backs
        Not sure how they know

        • i've had two for two menulog track this week.

  • +1

Thanks - used DM gift card for petrol in Caltax/WW

  • What happens if you get a refund for one of the transactions? Will you still receive the credit? I made a previous transaction for menu log a few days ago, and just yesterday, made another order, which was declined by the restaurant. The second order put the total over $40 spend, and immediately got the email from amex. But then moments later, the restaurant declined the order and menu log informed that I would be receiving a refund automatically. So what will happen to the statement credit from amex now? Will I still receive it if I spend again to get to the total or will i not get the credit now even if I do? If anybody has experienced this situation before or with a different amex statement credit offer, please let me know. Thanks

    • +4

      Amex will reverse the credit.

      • Thanks.I was pondering whether I should spend again on that card to get to $40 again or not. Bit stupid of menu log to charge the card before the merchant confirms the order though and then have to reverse the charge when it doesn't go through. Now its wasted one of my credits

  • Very happy.

Needed to spend $200 at woolies.
So did them online 5x $40
Realised i doubled ordered one item.

    Ordered another $40

Went to pick up my 6x $40 orders.
Got a refund on the dupe order. Refund processed.

    6 x emails from amex.

    Thanks woolies/amex

    • you can pay with 5 different credit card online?

      • Probably did five separate transactions

  • Bought 2 Wish GCs from DM. However, only received one credit. Did anyone experience the same thing? Thanks!

    • +5

You only get the credit once per retailer per card.

  • Made online order at WOW yesterday for $40.40. Amex email received immediately. Picked up order last night. This morning received email from WOW

'Thank you for returning your online reusable bags with your latest online order, and helping us to work together towards a greener future.

Your credit/debit card used to pay for your latest order will be refunded with the amount of $1.00. Your refund will take 3 to 5 business days to show back into your account, dependent on your financial institutions processing times.'

FYI, I didn't return any bags but wondering if Amex will reverse my not yet received credit if it thinks I have now only spent $39.40.

    • +2

If I were you, I will call up or live chat Woolworths Online, and see if they can stop that $1 refund.
Their contact. Would seem the easiest route, if they can do it.

If they cannot stop the refund, and the Amex cashback is not forthcoming or reversed, then contact Amex and explain. They are pretty understanding. Good luck!
