Sony - FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS Standard Zoom Lens (SEL24105G) $1,709.10 Delivered (Grey Import) @ E-Infinity eBay

70
PYRO10

I've been keen to get this lens for a few months now but there hasn't been any good deals recently.
PYRO10 brings down the price from $1,899 to $1,709.10. These have been around the $2000 mark and haven't been included in 20% off deals and likely won't be for some time.

Using 5% off gift cards brings the price down further. The ebay T&Cs says only 8 gift cards can be used in one transaction, it may be less since PYRO10 is being used (https://pages2.ebay.com.au/ebay-gift-cards-terms-conditions). Still it would bring the price to around $1,650. A second ebay account would be needed due to the 5 gift card limit. Buying $200 gift cards to get around the 8 card limit is not possible.

I need me a cheap 16-35 GM or 70-200 GM.

    T_T.

I don't think cheap and GM stands in the same sentence.

For this price better go for local stock with local warranty … etc.

  • Why not Sigma 24-105 for about 45% less the cost?

Personally find Sigma lens manageable, especially for almost half the cost and roughly 75% performance of the manufacturer flagships? The only problem is alack of weather shield.

The weather sealing worked really well with my old Ls and 5d. But does come with a cost.

Nowadays, aftermarket lenses would do the trick for casual shooting in dry (and not dusty) weather.

    • If you don't own an adapter, then the prices are similar as you have to factor that in, as there is no Sony E-mount Sigma 24-105mm yet. This is the best reviewed 24-105 out there, let alone one of the best zooms for the Sony E-mount system, too; often cited as being sharper than the Sony GM 24-70mm at the edges.

      • I see. No such problem with canon/nikon on aftermarket lenses. All current E-mount Sigma lenses are fixed. Fair enough.

Like said, flagship lenses are always better. Question is, at what cost. For leisure shooting, after market lenses will do the trick - at least for me.
