What is a Chicken McFeast? is it a McFeast with a McChicken patty?

    • +1

That's what the picture looks like (but of course I cannot post the screenshot)!

      • +1

Yep, agree with your assessment. Funny, something I never knew I wanted, but now it exists, can't wait to try it.

    • +8

On an unrelated note, the Mcrib is back!

      • +1

this article sums it up well & reminds me why i hated it the first time around in 2012, its like an expensive pork sausage in a bun, actually a sausage would probably have more actual pork in it than the mcrib…
        https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/food/eat/what-the-dickens-…

        • +1

The patty is made of pork - much more than most pork sausages. It's just not pork as most would think about it… "restructured meat product" contains a mixture of tripe, heart, and scalded stomach

And the shock horror that the BBQ sauce contains lots of sugars😱 ("discovered the McRib sauce is laced with several variations of sugar and molasses, which explains why I scrubbed the entire house in 10 minutes soon after.")
That sugar content should surprise no one! (eg Masterfoods Barbecue Sauce has 54% sugars!)

That link is to a typical NEWS OPONION piece.

    Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

It's OK, just set your weight loss as a new years resolution and hope Maccas doesn't come up with more offers come January.

      • +5

You can lose weight eating only maccas… Weight loss is a function of total consumed calories… Not what the calories are made off.

This is better.. Cause i prefer chicken :)

        • You can lose weight eating only maccas

You'd be starving as a burger alone is a substantial portion of your daily calorie intake.

  • +12

Also available to order in-store without app between 10:30am & 5pm.

    • +2

      Not just lunch? AWESOME

    • +1

Does your Maccas name tag say Juzzy 96?

Welcome to McDonalds Drive-thru, this is Juzzy.

  • +14

RIP $5 McOz. Beetroot, I will miss you.

  • +3

Sweet, is on Qld as well, normally we get something different.

    Also…McRib is here.

    • McRib is here

      MMmmmmmm…. I like a good pork…

      • Get some pork on your fork

    • McRibs were my favourite until I Googled and found out they weren't any ribs…

      • Just back from trying it, it feels like a burger… but made of something else

        • McRibs - "restructured meat product" contains a mixture of tripe, heart, and scalded stomach, which is then mixed with salt and water to extract proteins from the muscle. The proteins bind all the pork trimmings together so that it can be re-molded into any specific shape — in this case, a fake slab of ribs.
          mmm… Now I'm hungry🍴

    • OMG - I remember the McRib. I loved the fake brown painted on ribs. Just seemed so…. wrong. ;-)

      • +1

doesn't subway frozen chicken patties have the same painted grill marks?

  • +1

    bun
    chicken patty
    cheese
    tomato
    lettuce
    chicken sauce

(why would you add ketchup mustard onion and pickles to this? gross!)

    • fries & drink for $5 is awesome.
    • +2

Just checked the app. It really does have mcchicken sauce, mustard AND ketchup AND pickles. Puke! Hope they don't mind me deleting half the ingredients from my order then.

    • Delete the chicken sauce and add Mac sauce and ketchup instead.

      You’re welcome.

      • +1

the app only lets you add or remove items depending on your selection.

the mcchicken mcfeast only has bacon as an add on. maybe order some mac sauce in a tub though 😁

  • +8

This is currently appearing as $7.50 in the app for me.

    • Mine is showing the incorrect price as well, plus showing as unavailable at my restaurant.

    • $7.50 for me as well

    • Hmm my screenshot definitely says it's $5. Possibly usual MyMaccas app teething issues with a new deal.

      • +2

When I click on 'small meal', the image at the top of the page changes ans shows $5 from 10:30 am to 5pm. However the actual cost coming up shows $7.50. Definitely some teething issues.

        • +1

It shows $7.55 for me. Hopefully they fix it by today. I am just going to head in store and order it that way.

          • @Monty1089: 7.70 for me.
Hey McDonalds… just because I work in the Melb CBD it doesn't mean I can afford the extra 20c lol

      • People at counter saying they waiting for price to update but it will be $5 ….when updated

  • +3

The McRib is also available :O

  • I don’t have the offer and I want it so what should I do???

    • You can order a small meal in store from 10:30am to 5pm and it should be $5, just ask the staff members. I don't think it has to be through the app to access it for $5.

    • +7

      Call the police

    • +1

It doesn't appear to be an offer as such that normally appears in the "My Rewards" section. Rather, you need to find the burger in the app in the normal menu, and select the small meal. It comes up as more than $5 ($7.40 for me at the moment) but in theory you can get it for $5 if you buy it between 10:30am and 5pm. As others have noted, you'll probably see a small banner stating the reduced price. Maybe the price is updated when you try to buy it (I can't confirm as it comes up with 'unavailable' for me). Alternatively, you can probably get it if you order it at the store itself.

  • And also for the McRib is it the same deal for $5????

    • I don't think so

      • So is it just the macrib burger that is back???

    • +1

      In my app…

      McRib $7
      Small $10.40
      Medium $11.05
      Large $11.70

      • without app, McRib 6.95$, medium 11,35$

        • Probably just the regional pricing and it does vary depending with time of the day. Regardless I had one and it's amazing.

        • what a complete rip off!

  • -1

Looks it they removed it now!

  • My one says 10.70
got $1 large chips though :D

  • $5 Small Chicken McFeast Meal is showing as $7.50 for me in the app, despite the image showing $5.

  • Any generic code?

  • +1

Shouldn't the McRib get it's own thread? I know it's not a bargaim, but this event is second only to man landing on the moon.

    • Your turn to shine on first post

    • +1

Do you think it's worth $7 on it's own?

      Hell No!

  • Small chicken mcfeast meal is $7.55 on my app :(

  • At local McDonald's. They don't know anything about this. App is also showing $7.50.

  • +2

App is screwed. Advertised as $5 meal. Comes up at $7.50 at checkout and then it tells me its not available to my selected store. Have tried multiple stores

    • +2

must be getting hungry by now going from store to store ….

  • +1

"can't do it today due to technical difficulties" at my local Maccas in Melbourne

    😒

  • +2

Just had a browse, not available on the self serve ordering kiosk

  • +3

Cashier via drive-thru said the deal is on but their machines are not programmed to honour the $5 deal.
    Rubbish maccas. Expected better.

    • +1

better .. you mean food , service or IT innovation.

  • Thanks for the McRib omg been waiting since !

  • +1

$7.65 in the app for me, but the image has a $5 logo on it… It also lets me add it to my order, but then complains that the item is temporarily unavailable. I think they have some issues to iron out.

  • I rather liked the Mc Oz, I find the chicken patie a bit dry and seems salty …but chicken meat is much cheaper than beef, so I can imagine the accountants had an idea.

the Mc Oz was my daily lunch for a year, not sure the Mc Chicken will last as long on my goto lunch, but will give it a go.

    • And you could modify the burger in the app so the small meal worked out to $5.60 for a small quarter pounder meal or even a Big Style quarter pounder for around the same price.

      R.I.P

  • +1

You used to be able to turn the McFeast or McOz into one of these and it was only $4.75. Although i liked adding the chicken patty and keeping the beer.

    • +2

      keeping the beer

Must have been a popular Maccas!

      • Lol. Wishful thinking. Haha. Beer would be even better then the beef.

  • Can't wait to get the mcrib, been years since I've had it.

    • They're hard to get because Marilyn Manson had the McRib removed

  • unavailable at my restaurant

  • can someone wake me up when they fix this in the app

    • I'll wake you up when September ends

    • +1

      Wake up!!

    • 'Can someone wake me up when they fix the app?' FTFY. Prepare for a long hibernation.

      • no, app works approx 90-95% of the time for me

    • +1

lol no that's not at all what a real one will look like

  • CHICKEN PATTY, QUARTER-POUNDER BUN, LETTUCE, TOMATO, MAYONNAISE, KETCHUP, CHEESE, PICKLE, ONION, MUSTARD

    Sounds good

  • In the app, it shows it's $5 from 10:30 am - 5:00 pm.

Outside of those times, it's $7.35.

At least the $1 Large fries are there!

    • In the app yesterday, it showed as $7.50 all day (including between 10:30am-5pm, despite the promo image suggesting otherwise). Today in the app, even after 5pm, still $5. So basically just looks like teething issues.

  • +1

So, Doesn't work on the app, It's not on the self kiosk system in store at the appropriate hours and the staff can't put it through the system. Surely this should be deleted until it's fixed?

    • So did you report it to the mods or did you just neg the deal?

    • It is fixed now.

  • +2

Price has been updated/fixed on my app now!

    • Same here.

  • give it a couple days. i paid $5 through the app and had to pay an extra 2.45 by card as their system didnt register it as $5 just yet.

  • +2

so had this for lunch today, was horrible, patty stupidly dry and even the excess amount of sauce didn't help at all. really sad because the $5 mcoz deal was my go to lunch when I didn't have anything else going.

    • Out of interest, was it busy in store (ie. could the chicken patty's have been sitting around longer than intended)?

      • one of the stores in sydney city, always reasonably busy. also all the warmer things have timers on them for when they shouldn't be used anymore and a new batch should be cooked

        • They do… doesn’t mean it’s always followed.

Oh well, thought if it was busy they would stay fresh. Sorry you got a crappy one.
