    ^^ Added to above. It starts immediately when you purchase as I've just purchased - there is an option to cxl it as soon as you purchase so I did that although they refund back to your microsoft account not your credit card :( frustrating xbox !!!

      From my understanding for young kids you set up a family account and then it prompts you to put in the parents login before proceeding.
