This is only an upgrade of Stan standard to premium for 3 months you still need to pay for standard

    • Thanks for the information, I got excited seeing 3 months. Cheers!

Yea I went to sign up to check out Stan again after last trial and turned out it wasn't free.

Its actually 3 months of basic for new subscribers, current subscribers get an upgrade - this is what happens to me anyways as a subscriber on the Standard paln.

      • -2

Guess since I had a trial and cancelled that makes sense

If you have gmail just add a . somewhere in your name.

          Gmail ignores the .

@[Deactivated]: I used a different email but I think my credit card pinged me as a second free trial sneak. I wasn't willing to be defeated though and used Paypal this time, that worked.

      • I signed up having never used Stan and when I went into my profile account, i just upgraded it to premium plan without any cost. There is a note on when Stan will start charging you.

    • +1

I got 3 free months standard as a new subscriber

    • I didnt have Stan, now i have a 3 month trial from this same offer.

  • Just sign up as a new email account. Gets free 3 month :)

  • Not just current subscribers get the "upgrade". With a similar deal a few months back ,I hadn't been with them for a couple of years, yet they saw me as an "existing customer", "upgraded" me, and charged my credit card. I made them credit it pretty darned quickly and kissed them off for good.

  • I'm guessing there's no way to get this to work if you use Stan through an iTunes subscription (and maybe Google Play)?

  • Looks like eBay decided to take my advice ;)

    • +1

      Not free just a trial

  • This has been around since ebay plus introduction to my knowledge. I've recently received a reminder telling me to activate, but I can't as I was an existing subscriber.

    • Where do you find it?

      • I remembered the offer initially, however they just messaged me reminding me it expires shortly.

    • Can I have your code?

  • It seems like even if I use a new account it still registers it as linked to my active account? anyway I can actually use the 3 months free now instead of the free upgrade?

    • Code will be linked to email of ebay most likely

  • +6

It must be a targeted offer. We've been ebayplus members since June but there's no Stan offer to be seen anywhere when I login. I'd have liked to have given this a go too.

    • Same. I have been looking for a Stan deal.

      • I rang the ebayplus hotline and they directed me to look in the 'my ebay' area messages - not ebayplus and sure enough the voucher is sitting there :)

  • So you cannot sign up for a new subscription and get the standard 30 days free then add this 3 months to the total length (ie get 4 mths) subscription?

    • No that won’t work as I tried. After I initially signed up for the 30 day free trial I tried to redeem the eBay code but got an error that the code is only valid for a new account (as in you redeem the code while signing up, not after).
I just emailed Stan Support about it & they just added the extra 2 months so I still got the 3 months free access.

      • Ok Thanks for confirming that 3 Months is the maximum

  • i already have prime video, netflix, is it worth to subscribe another stan?

    • +1

I have both Prime video and Netflix, but why not, I signed up, nothing to lose.

    • +2

I did it just to try it out. Already canceled the auto-renewing subscription. I don't think I'd get it again. My wife is not a native English speaker so she needs/prefers to have subtitles when she watches stuff. That's where we've found Amazon really wins out. They have subtitles in lots of languages for pretty much everything they have. Netflix doesn't seem to have much in the way of subtitles. ( I have checked a few titles on friends' accounts before and they didn't have the language we need)

Stan seem to have quite a few exclusives though. I only checked it out for a few minutes so it's hard for me to comment on the content. Just turned off by the lack of subtitles.

      • +1

Lack of English language subtitles? That is a shame cause I watch stuff on low volume with subs all the time.

        • Lots of English subtitles. I assume for most things. I didn't check though as I need a different language for my wife.

    • True Ozbargainers subscribe to one at a time for a month or two each. You can access all the shows in turns for a third of the cost.

  • Then they will send you another email for 3 months free trial YouTube premium.

  • Got this a month or so ago, never had Stan so 3 months free was correct and pretty happy with it since cheaper then Netflix and partner/kids use it more so no complaints.

Plus 12 months eBay plus was a nice score for free in the first place.

  • I'm sick of every "free" Stan deal resulting in an unwanted upgrade to the Premium tier instead of the free months for existing customers. Really annoying.

  • I got it activated then Stan charged my PayPal account$12 and says I will be charged on the 11 Dec again even though it activated the eBay code

    • You've probably used Stan with that email before, so the offer reverts to "pay standard, get free upgrade to premium for 3 months" deal

    • Its an upgrade to premium for you

  • OP or anyone who received the Stan code, when did you join eBay plus ?

    • i joined it when they had the free google home offer

      • I joined recently, that could be the reason I didn’t get this Stan offer.

  • Cleaned out my cookies for both ebay and Stan, used a different name and email address but somehow it still won't let me sign up, saying I'm not eligible. And no option for an upgrade.

    • I will try your code :)

    • The code will be linked to your eBay plus email?

    • Did u use the same credit card as a previous trial? It will recognise that.

  • If I sign up to eBay plus today can I get this offer somehow?

  • Worked for me with a different email. Used Paypal for payment info.

    • This is exactly what I did. I tried using my old Stan email (expired long ago) but it only offered the free upgrade - tried a different email and PayPal and bingo - 3 free months of the base plan.

  • waste of time offer from ebay plus - forget another year

  • -2

    Stan is a thing still?

    • 1.2 million active subscribers are helping it stay a “thing”!

    • same as quickflix, try to give away as many subscriptions as you can then sell your sub count to another company

  • Got email but also got this message

Sorry we can't redeem your voucher right now
    Please try again later.

  • Wouldn't activate using my registered ebay email (previous subscriber). But code worked with another email address.

  • Thanks OP - already have Foxtel Now (free) and Netflix (OzB Family) but hey, 3 months free Stan might come in handy!

    • How you get foxtel now

      • It was a Telstra deal in around March - 12/24 months free Foxtel Now
