    Get 30 free pre-selected movies

So you only get a choice between 30 movies ????

The only stuff you get for free seems to be only the free channels.

    • Those are the free movies each month, you can still buy/rent other ones.

      • -4

you can still buy/rent other ones.

That's not 'free' for three months though…

        • It actually is, they are talking about the hardware cost P/m. Do you want them to give you 3 months of free unlimited movies? That would be stupid.

  • I wonder what Fetch channels are provided?

    • I think you sign up to a Fetch plan (i.e. whatever channel packs you want) and rent the box… and the first 3 months of the plan are included.

But, yeah it’s an obscure deal.

      • Yea, even the website doesn't specify

Hey Op, care to link to the deal, ratehr then the home page?

How much does it cost after the 3mths? is there any contract? What happens when you leave ABB?

    Friendly yes, competent? Maybe not

      • CHeers.

$15/mth for the mighty box, is pretty good considering the box outright @ HN is $450 (so effective 30mths)

        • I got the box previously for less than $319 then pay $1 to activate the box. effectively around 22months. however, as this is a box from a telco, you will no longer be able to use the box if you move to another telco. i had the same issue when we were previously with Optus and it included fetch. when we moved houses and had to go with another provider, our fetch became a paperweight so I had to get a retail box so I can use it regardless of our internet provider

          • @sigplay: Can i buy a optis fetch box and activate through aussie u recon?

            • @Seedy seed: Unfortunately I don't think so. I think when you get from a telco, the box is locked to that provider (maybe similar to mobile devices of the past). i remember researching a year ago and essentially, the box becomes useless after switching providers. i actually got around 1 week of usage of the optus box after switching providers but that was because I didn't connect it to the internet so the box did not detect that I was with a different provider.

however, reading the thread below, it seems like as long as the optus account is active for some reason, you can still use it on a different network.

Competent hahaha The other day I was on the phone to support and the support tech guy had never heard of ChromeOS. He kept asking if I was using a Windows or Mac system… It took him ages to wrap his head around the fact that Google has an operating system. I was terrified at that point, so I asked him if he had heard of Linux or Ubuntu… still nope.

      Sigh… competent is a stretch.

      • I'd definitely tell someone. Thing I've found about AussieBB is that they actually take on board critical feedback (even if at first they push back [lol at that speed test stuff]) - so if you reported it to them they may actually train their staff up on it.

  • Can you stack with the free month?

  • As an existing customer, do I need to upgrade to an unlimited plan to sign up with Fetch?

    • My guess is yes because those things chew data.

You would need to have an unlimited plan, but i'm unsure if existing customers can apply for this deal. Would be worthwhile calling to see

    Something for existing customer?

    • +10

      a bill.

    • Continual high quality speeds & quality.

      • It said this just wondering what upgrade is needed or just pay the extra?

Just a word of warning. Multi room functionally is restricted to Fetch boxes from the same provider.

So if you have a Fetch Mighty from Aussie Broadband, it will not work with a Fetch Mini purchased from JB Hi Fi or Optus. And vice versa.

For anyone who's going to use it long-term, I'd avoid any non-retail Fetch TV boxes.

  • Interesting. I have ABB unlimited on FW. I also have a fetch mighty box just used for fta, as well as a foxtel box via satellite.
I wonder if it is worth trying for 3 months free as I already have every movie I want from the web, and sport from foxtel.

Anything new Fetch brings with this deal?

  • Yess! I'll be switching immediately

  • Everything I just read in the deal makes me wonder why fetch exists.

    • It used to be a cheaper alternative to fox for the espn channels, but now Kayo has changed that up a bit.

  • I’ve just signed up for Aussie Broadband unlimited and there was no mention of this deal???

    • If you just signed up yesterday chat with them.

  • Anyone in wantirna south area (postcode 3152) (HFC technology) who has signed up with Aussie BB, would appreciate your comment. I am planning to switch to NBN but don't know which provider is reliable with high speed.. Just got a letter from NBN due date to switch over is Aug 2019. Thank you in advance.
