    Any discounts for 1TB?

    • +4

It looks like nobody has stock anywhere, apart from maybe MSY in VIC.

        Also chasing a 1TB. Surely there's some stock somewhere…

  • Anybody know if this would work in a 13" MacBook Air 2015 . I hear there are converters but not sure about compatibility with this drive

    • Don't think a full sized m.2 would fit there. I believe most laptops use a smaller form factor (u.2?) For these types of drives.

  • Just bought two 250gb models for $99 each at MSY albeit only to be used as cache in a 918+ setup.

Wonder if that extra would have helped…

    • Probably not don't waste your money.

In fact I invested 4 * 4tb drives, 16GB ram and NVMEs 256gb x2. All it took was the NAS no longer powers on.

I got a dud DS918+ from Futu online won't get it fixed before Xmas. It died after 5 months

I even went bought another from tech mall and Brand new 918+ is DOA. Lucky I had ebay plus else postage return would cost me and arguing with seller won't go anywhere

      Synology disappoints me

      • I've gone from Amazon. Upgrading from a WD PR2100. Pretty confident with their returns.

Looking at going raid 10 with 4 8tbs, presume that's my safer option.

Where did you get the ram from? I'm contemplating going to 8gb, but only really using it for Plex…

WTF a NAS is supposed to be durable

        • One of the advantages of unRAID is the data disks are just normal, formatted XFS disks. So if something goes wrong with the NAS you can just take the disks out and access them in a normal computer. Plus you can build out of whatever hardware you trust.

      • Synology disappoints me

This is why you shouldn't go with a proprietary solution. There's every chance that one day the particular model you need to be able to to continue accessing your data will no longer be manufactured.

For the price of a DS918+, you could easily build your own NAS that uses a standard file system like ZFS or BtrFS. If any of your hardware components bite the dust, just replace it and on you go. Worst case scenario is you move your entire array to another computer and you'll be able to access your data all the same.

  • Great price and Seller is great to deal with.

  • futu sells it for 135.2 after discount and free shipping

    • shopping express, same company as futu sells for $159 * 0.8 = 127.2 with free shipping

  • Great price and seller!
I bought a couple of the Crucial BX500 SSD's from them last week and i didn't even initially know, but they actually expressed shipped it even though the listing said standard shipping! Guess they want to ensure our "gifts" are delivered by Christmas.

Just built a 8700k system from the Black Friday deals.

    Have a 8700k @ 5.2GHz
    970 Evo 500GB
    16Gb Trident Z RGB
    Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 7 Z370
    EK Monoblock

I'm seriously tempted to get another 970 Evo, just because they're so cheap. But already have a 500GB 850 Evo.

These are great, but if you're going to get the 250GB get the WD Black as it's better. The 500GB and greater 970s outdo the WDs.
