Westpac Altitude Platinum: Bonus 60K Qantas Points (Spend $3,000 in 90 Days), $0 Annual Fee (1st Year) + $50 Qantas Rewards Fee

1410

Same as the last deal - 60,000 Qantas points for $50 is a very good deal - I like Qantas points but hate paying a big annual fee for them. Terms from the last deal are (same this time around):

Earn 60,000 Bonus Qantas Points when you spend $3,000 on eligible purchases within 90 days of card approval.

$0 annual card fee in the first year (normally $150)
Earn 0.5 Qantas Points per $1 spent on eligible purchases
Bonus Qantas Points will be credited to your points balance within 12 weeks of the eligible spend criteria being met
Minimum credit limit $6,000
$50 Qantas Rewards fee
Up to 45 days interest free
Existing Westpac customers who currently hold an Altitude Platinum or Altitude Black credit card, or who have held one in the last 12 months, are not eligible for this offer.

  • Do i still qualify if i use this card to buy $3000 of Woolworth Wish egiftcards?

  • Come with Travel Insurance?

  • Hi All,

I applied for this card 2 months ago and was approved but didn't end up getting/activating/using the card. Could I apply again and actually then get the card for use?

I didn't activate the previous one and a Westpac rep has said you should be okay as long as it isn't 12 months which didn't answer my questions.

    Cheers

    Saulami

    • If the card was never activated then I suspect yes, you should be fine to sign up again and activate the card and get the bonus points. Saying that it is probably worth giving Westpac a call and confirming given your scenario is a little different if they haven't already answered your question.

  • It's been a week since approval and I haven't gotten my card… I guess it's hit and miss in terms of delivery times as another ozbargainer got theirs in two days!?

  • damn I hope I get mine soon, big bill is due on 1st march

  • pretty smooth, applied Monday, received card on Thursday.

    • Hurrah, enjoy the Qantas points!

  • Bummer, denied after conditional approval. Would it be because I already have a $4000 limit on another card and my income is pretty much the minimum?

Thought I'd be able to get this Westpac one because I've had my current card since 2017 and always paid it on time. Living expenses are low since I live with parents. Any recommendations for how long I should wait before applying for another card?

  • If I open this in my wife's name, can I put in my QFF details? Or does the QF account have to be under her name?

  • Is there a document which says what they classify as income?

My partner gets $35k a year from Centrelink as a carer for her family member who's disabled.

Would that classify for income to Westpac ?

  • As mentioned previously, can anyone confirm that if you choose to earn Qantas points that the $50 annual Qantas Rewards fee is waived in the first year?

    • +1

Yep, both annual fee and qantas rewards fee were waived.
Still waiting for bonus points. Anyone got theirs yet?

      • Thanks for confirming, will choose to receive Qantas points then

  • I've received mine but I had a terrible experience with Westpac.

It was worth the points though.

    • Still waiting on my points a few months after getting the card zzzzzzzzz
