Cygnett 20,000mAh ChargeUp Pro USB-C Power Bank (PD) Black $74.97 C&C (Was $149) @ The Good Guys eBay

1380
PICKUP10

Greetings everyone, TGG have just put all of their Cygnett chargers on sale, and combining with the current 10% off sale for picking up in store, brings it to it's equal cheapest price ever again. This is approximately $100 or more elsewhere, and has been since the last sale from what I can tell.

Plenty of stock available nationwide for C&C.

Description:

The Cygnett ChargeUp Pro 20k is the most advanced power bank we have ever developed, featuring Power Delivery (PD) technology. With a 63W total output, and a 45W USB-C port, the ChargeUp Pro can now support charging the latest USB-C laptops, smartphones, tablets and gaming devices. Including Qualcomm (QC 3.0) technology allowing up to 75% faster charging than a standard 5W USB output. The 20,000mAh capacity gives you the ability to charge your smartphone up to 10 times, a tablet 2 times, or a laptop up to one full charge.

With the restrictions placed on importing Powerbanks from overseas, this seems like an excellent deal for everyone looking for a reliable powerbank with power delivery and a large capacity. The added advantage is that this comes with local warranty which is awesome :)

This is within the flight regulations for batteries.

The powerbank is on sale for $83.30, so if you can't C&C, you can still use P5OFF to save 5%, or order via their website.

As always, enjoy!

Big thanks to Price Hipster by Jazoom for the find.

    Good price! Grabbed one

    • Is this a lot better than the Xiaomi ZMI apart from 65w output? This is bit Bulkier than zmi, isn’t it?

      • +2

I think they are on par with each other, performance and reputation wise.

Main differences from a user perspective:

        • The ZMI QB820/QB815 one uses Li-Ion 18650 cells whereas this one uses LiPo which makes the Cygnett slimmer but longer (Weight: 450 grams, Size: 171mm (W) x 102mm (H) x 15mm (D)) vs ZMI QB820 (405g, 160 x 81 x 21mm).
        • Case material: Metal vs Plastic
        • ZMI's additional Hub functionality
        • Cygnett can output 63W max using both ports at the same time from the specs?
        • Guess will stick to my ZMI then, seems a better choice for my pocket :)

    No wireless charging :(

How is it compared with this https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07JM3MYYY

    • +9

      Compare the specs yourself?

    • +3

Higher output power to support laptops, less capacity, slimmer size

      • +2

        Here's the specs:
        Cygnett: https://www.cygnett.com/products/20-000mah-usb-c-power-bank-…
        Weight: 450 grams
        Size: 171mm (W) x 102mm (H) x 15mm (D)

        RAVpower: https://www.ravpower.com/p/ravpower-xtreme-26800mah-pd-power…
        Weight: 16.1OZ (456g)
        Size: 6.83.20.9 Inches (173mm81mm22mm)

The RAVpower is thicker, but weight wise is around the same.

        • Thanks. I will just wait for the RAVpower to go back down to $72 again then.
My concern is it might not hold charge as long as the Cynett but if it is holds charge just as well I will get it over Cynett.

          • @wtfnodeal: Ravpower has higher capacity. Cygnett has higher PD output (45w vs 30w).
Other than that, there is not much difference between them so really depends on whether you need to power a laptop or multiple ipads/phones/switches.
Personally I have the Ravpower from the last deal but would choose the Cygnett if they were both the same price.

        • Here's a comparison on the sizes:
          https://imgur.com/gallery/QolUHbs

    • Ravpower is decent if you're just charging phones or iPads, or lower-power laptops (Like the Macbook)

However, for more powerful laptops it won't charge it, my Lenovo Yoga 920 for example requires 40w minimum to charge. The Cygnett provides that. So if you're looking for something that will charge most ultrabooks with USB PD, go the Cygnett.

      • Nah I just want to charge the Nintendo Switch. Thanks for the advice though

  • code doesn't work?

    • What error are you getting?

      • +1

oh sleepy me, just needed to change delivery type. thanks for this! been waiting a minute

  • +1

This is probably one of the best power banks out there. Highly recommend.

    • Define ‘best’?

      • +9

        Direct from Websters;
"of the most excellent or desirable type or quality."

      • Best > Better > Good > Average > Bad > Worse > Worst

    • just because something is popular doesnt makw it "the best"

      • Who said anything about popularity?

        • What makes it best then?

  • Will this work with the Switch? (Sorry for my ignorance!)

    • Yes, it will.

    • Using the USB C port for USB PD yes

      • +1

It will charge off an A port also. It's been tested by youtubers. The A port can deliver more charge than it is consuming while playing, therefore you should not run out of power while playing if charging. And therefore, C is not necessary if your fear is that the charger can't keep up with the power consumption of the Switch.

Can charge the switch but not power the dock through USB-A though, right?

          • +2

@cwongtech: Oh sorry, you're probably right about the dock. It needs a lot more power than the A port can provide.

I actually forgot that people play through the dock! To me it's a portable system that can connect to a TV like a wired Chromecast.

I've only ever played it in portable mode and have never considered the TV.

I guess you can say my reasoning for not thinking about the dock is, I didn't expect anyone to run it off a power bank. If you're hooked up to a TV, you're probably at home anyway, and can just use the supplied AC adapter.

            • @lostn: It's true, you would normally have a power outlet next to the TV.
However in an environment where all the wiring is hidden, this is not the case :p
HDMI is usually still exposed because most TVs will have it on the side.

This is where portable power for the dock comes into handy ;)

              • @cwongtech: Set it up once so the dock is permanently connected, and then just insert the Switch when needed?

If you want more game time it will be more convenient this way.

                • @lostn: Shared office environment. The wall socket seems to be hidden somewhere behind in the fake ceiling panels.

                  • @cwongtech: I'd love to work in your office if they let you play games!

  • I picked this up to use with my Nintendo Switch last year and its been excellent.

  • +10

Thanks, got one. Now I just need to buy a switch to justify this purchase…

    • Now that SmashBros is out, I can't recommend it strongly enough :D

    • I'm one step behind you, trying to rack my brain for use cases to justify getting one. So far nada.

  • Will this work with a Dell XPS 15 9570?

    • Yeh was wondering with 9560. But i think dell have their own charger version

      • If I get the proper dell version, will i still be able to use a USB C to USB micro cable and charge my phone and other stuff too?

I just want one portable charger for my devices for when i work away from the office

        • Yes. It has A port also.

    • Don’t think it will; mine won’t charge with a 30w charger but will with the apple 60w but very slowly. Think the factory adaptor is 130w?

  • This is good.

I have the xiaomi and (I want to say tronsmart?). Gave both away and kept this.

It's probably done >30 cycles for the Switch on road trips.

  • Great price, I love mine. This is maybe the cheapest yet?

  • Fantastic power bank - I use it almost exclusively for my Switch when out and about. Handy that the other port is QC3.0 (though its annoying that you need to press the button to start charging whereas the Type-C port automatically starts charging).

    • (though its annoying that you need to press the button to start charging whereas the Type-C port automatically starts charging).

Yep this. That's my only quirk about this power bank.

  • This also does PD. So the statement saying this model is the only model that does PD is false.

    • Missed that one as TGG don't sell it, I'll retract it.

    • I dunno, for that price you can buy two of the 20k ones and still save 40 bucks.

  • +1

Good deal, however I don't know if TGG eBay should even be allowed to have deals posted on OzB with a 96.8% Positive feedback

I'm sure a small business wouldn't be allowed with a track record like that and this is a larger sample size… just my take on it!

EDIT - just checked posting guidelines and I thought sellers had to have a 98% positive feedback score (can't find it so I guess I was wrong) ;)

    • Why would 98% be some golden number? 96.8% over 200,000+ transactions is excellent by any measure. That rule would be very silly.

      • Ask eBay - basically TGG aren't a top rated seller by their own metrics - I also think 96.8 is pretty ordinary but each to their own

        Becoming a Top Rated Seller
Becoming a Top Rated Seller indicates that you consistently deliver outstanding customer service, and also makes you eligible to receive a prominent eBay Premium Service badge on qualifying listings.

To become a Top Rated Seller you'll need to:

Have an eBay account that's been active for at least 90 days
Have at least 100 transactions and AU $1,000 in sales during the last 12 months
Have a Feedback score of 100 or more, with at least 98% positive Feedback over the past 12 months
Comply with eBay's selling practices policy
Meet the requirements for transaction defect rate, cases closed without seller resolution and late shipment rate. You'll find the requirements in the table below

        • Yeah I've met it as a personal seller, it means very little and favours smaller volume of sales.

I don't think eBay have any concern with TGG, they are regular partners and feature on the front page constantly. Sort of meaningless to say they're not "Top Rated" when they receive that much direct promotion.

  • Thanks, will pick one up for my macbook pro.

  • Got one last time and these are excellent.

Minor annoyance having to press the button to power the USB A ports on but its still excellent.

  • +4

This one did not work with my Dell XPS 9370, which uses a 45W input but accepts a min 27W for charging. I had to return it yo TGG (bought it on previous 20% sale for $130 something)

But the KOGAN which was recently on OZBargain does work. (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/425013) I received it a couple of days ago. I am using it now. I shall do a full charge to my laptop and see how many times it can actually charge it. But yes the KOGAN does work with Dell 9370.

    • +1

Glad you like the Kogan one, please share some reviews if possible on the website :)

      -Associated with Kogan

  • According to the specs, it comes with a USB-c to USB-a cable. That means you need an extra USB-c to USB-c cable for any PD charging. :-(

    • Should have one included with your device?

      • +1

Not all devices come with a C-to-C Cable. Lenovo for instance provide a powerbrick that has a fixed USB-C cable.

        • Also, this is supposed to be used in addition to a charger (ie when you’re not in a position to use a wall charger). For a charger at this price, I’d think an extra cable would have made sense.

  • Keep saying checkout error, anyone got idea?

    • im getting the same error

    • "Something went wrong. Please try to check out again."

Same. I did click and collect :(

      • That usually means that the store is OOS, try a different store please :)

        • +1

I tried several different stores, still doesn't work

          • @joeyrr: Yeah I've heard of errors constantly on TGG eBay before, best off getting on eBay live chat and seeing if they can help you

  • +1

I bought tbis exact powerbank from tgg ebay 3 month ago, paid for postage, they cancelled my order, told me they are out of stock from my local preston store. FXXK, i know it is out of stock from my local shop, because i can not C&c from it, that is why i paid the postage, they do have stock at other stores but at a higher price because the special price is only for a short time. Their ebay store really sucks, so be warned that you may not receive yours even you paid for it.

On the other hand, I also bought the ravpower from amazon market place for under $50, the seller honored the price error, receiived the power bank in 2 days. Took it overseas with me now, works great with my switch and 2 phones, it come with 1 usbc-usbc cable and 2 micro usb cable, the cables are sturdy and strong. So highly recommend to buy the ravpower bank when they are on special. BTw, the ravpower is 26800 mah and 99.6wah, the highest you can bring with you on flight.

Remember three month ago, the cygnett seems to be the only powerbank support PD charging which sold locally, but now, there are better and cheap options availlable, such as the kogan 26800 before.

    • The Kogan one hasn't been put to its paces yet though. I don't know if it's IF certified and safe & reliable.

I have one and it seems to work fine, but long term you never know. I've had a lot of failures with power banks, mostly from Xiaomi.

  • "PICKUP10" Not working on checkout page. Keep getting error "This code can't be applied to your order."

    I chose C&C delivery type

    any help would be appreciated.

    • Is your account registered to Australia? That error usually comes up if you have a different registration county to what the code can be used in.

      • Thanks for your reply, it's working now, I changed country to Australia..

    • Choose Free C&C before enter the code but it keeps saying checkout error even you don’t enter the code. It’s a system error.

      • keep getting checkout error.

        • Maybe just try official site

          • @joeyrr: Changed the pickup store and able to placed order.

How is this compared to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/425013

    The kogan one.

Kogan one is cheaper and higher capacity and higher output too….

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/6743931/redir

But seriously, the Kogan one's spec looks awesome for $69, hope someone with professional knowledge can run a teardown review of it soon

      • +5

The 26800 one is our most advanced powerbank now, current price is the promotion low price since we want to encourage people to purchase and leave reviews for future buyers.

I will try to see if I can get the lab testing report for this product and share it somewhere.

        -associated with Kogan

        • Yes we want a teardown please from a professional reviewer.

          • @regenade: Any suggestions of which reviewer to go with? I will ask if we can arrange a sample for him/her to test.

            • @Talaria: I would say Chongdiantou.com/ChargerLab, but they are based in China and not sure they'd publish an article specifically for a product sold in Australian market only.

On the other hand, Dr Lui seems to be knowledgeable and based in Sydney.

              • @Mostly Melbourne: Thank you. I am familiar with Chongdiantou.com and thought since it is a Chinese website they are not very relevant to AU market.

We tested our power banks use same methods and also teared down them to evaluate build quality etc. But our own report may not seems reputable to ozbargainers :)

I will try to reach Dr Lui and see if he is interested to test a free sample. If he want to charge for testing then that will be a bit more difficult.

Also a shout out to other independent reviewers. If you are interested in testing our Kogan brand power banks, you can send reach to us and mention you would like to write a review/video reviews for a particular model and some briefing of your background(like Dr Lui), ask the customer service to send your request to relevant category managers and we may can provide free sample to some selected reviewers.

    • But also weighs 33% more at 600g.

      • 26800 power bank will need to use extra battery cells compare to 20000, so 33 percent more weight is unfortunately hard to avoid, plus we use aluminum body, which cost more and weight slightly more.

  • Thank you for posting! just grabbed one, hope it can be ready for collect today

  • Good price. Grabbed one. Thanks OP

    • How you finished up the payment?

      • Sequence of journey :)
Click on go to deal, login(if not already), add to cart, go to checkout, Pickup, paypal, PICKUP10.
Hope you get one while it lasts.:)

        • Thanks. I iust couldn't reply for 5 posts limitation.
Because of an eBay error I didn't buy on eBay but I paid without any issue on TGG website. No 10% off but still good deal.

  • This is a great power bank to keep in the car. It charges my Google pixel multiple times and fast !! Recommend!

    • Should you just use the usb charging port in the car to charge your phone? Also is it safe to leave a powerbank in the car, especially on those hot summer day?

      • I have a portable car starter for that purpose. It's something like 50,000 mah but charges USB also. Though it doesn't have PD obviously.

  • Great price. I've got the 27k version!

  • +1

anyone else getting "Something went wrong. Please try to check out again"

    • Having the same issue also.
