Wheelbarrow - Poly Tray, 100 Litre $38.50 @ Supercheap Auto

651

Thanks to the original 30% off at SCA deal

I was looking for a wheelbarrow, and at $55, I was already thinking of getting it. Now it is 30% cheaper and I think it is a good deal. Can't comment on the quality though, I guess it will be standard.

Great idea but in WA - No click and collect (all stores not stocked ) - $199.95 delivery fee for one unit :( lol

    • Spewing. I can only get it delivered for $148 or something too… Annoying as I'm after a cheap wheelbarrow.

Anyone knows width of the tray?

Don't you worry. The shopping centre doors are wide enough for this to go through on Boxing Day!

      Yet more landfill sigh

    • Why not recycle?

They're clearly designed for average joe use (i.e. not brick laying), not for commercial purposes.

Why not just buy one quality wheelbarrow? My dad bought one in the early 90s, built two houses and a few extensive renovations and it still holds up.

Wouldn't buying one good one be easier?

  • For 50 bucks its a disposable wheelbarrow… Be useful around the garden though

    Just as I thought… a Yard King.

This thing is a piece of garbage. You have to assemble it yourself and it was missing screws, some were the wrong length too. It was also very frustrating putting it together because the nuts would not go on properly (not cross threaded). I asked to return it due to said issues but then they said I would have to disassemble it. The thought of doing that killed me on the inside. After more frustration when using it because I couldn't get the screws tight enough to be properly stable, I threw it on gumtree for free and bought a stanely from bunnings. No regrets.

Funny story,I saw this after having bought a Staley and I was like "argh I got ripped off". Reading your comment made me feel better.

    • Sounds like most cheap wheelbarrows on the market… Why do they all have parts which are missing or do not align…

….Should have gone to Spec savers…

Tub isn't bad. It's plastic so it doesn't rust. We can't say the same for the frame. They use cheap metal which warps and the causes the wheelbarrow to tip over.

  • Very flimsy and lightweight and unstable. You need to self assemble also which is a pest. Have bought one previously and flogged on gumtree very shortly after assembling

  • skinny tyre = less stability
    .

  • Is it worth it for very light use ? I've bought a cheap one from bunnings and it's crap as well (e.g one of the $50 ones..).

Wheelbarrows definitely seem to be worth what you pay for them. I've had a $150 steel kelso before and sadly it didn't make it with the house move.. but it was solid as and I think would have lasted 15+ years..

    • It won't be any better than the cheap Bunnings one, maybe worse. I think it has a plastic rim for the wheel. I'm actually buying that wheel for my cheap Bunnings wheelbarrow as the wheel perished. Hopefully it will fit, but I think I broke the axle trying to remove the rusted bolts. I've put that Bunnings wheelbarrow through hell though using it for everything from cement mixing through to demo work.

  • whats the kg capacity. 1 body or 2?

Got one from bunnings for 10 bucks a while back. Had to replace the tyre when I needed to use it as it was rotting sitting in my shed. Got a solid rubber tyre which cost me 3x more than what I paid for it. 1st world problem!

  • Cheers OP good find, in store it still says 55 but scans at 38.50.

  • Just put one together… one of the wheel brackets wasn't square, but it all fit together in the end, and for $38.50 you can't complain. Good one OP.
