  • When you say 2x$150 AMEX - is that meaning you have 2 diff AMEX cards?

Just making sure I'm not missing a deal :D

    • +1

Correct. For a couple, most likely will have 2 diff card.
(some company offer 1 card Per person)

Serious question. If you are spending this much why you wont get an oled for not much more.

      Screen brightness & burn-in risks?

      • Oled burn in is very low risk

        • It is… unless you're doing something silly like gaming (with the same game) for hours on end, or have the TV on the same channel non-stop.

Brightness is a bigger issue particularly with very bright rooms / windows directly opposite. The X900F in SDR is on average twice as bright as OLED, and can sustain it even with whole scenes of solid bright color (rare extreme case - winter sports, it'll be 3-4x brighter but probably blow out your retinas).

But overall video quality in a darkish room.. OLED all the way!

        • I am using a 55" TV as a monitor, no way I would choose an OLED.

    • Exactly. In a straight shoot out not even the Samsung QLED Q9 (which isn't even available here) can't even mathh OLED. Both the Panasonic and LG B8 can be had for this price so it's a terrible deal really.

      • However the 65" model @ around $2100 is a good deal as the 65" OLEDs are so much more expensive

You are right. Better off getting the panny at ~$1700. Or going the Hisense P7 at sub-$900.

The extra nits you get here is only going to be good if you watch this in the backyard or something ;)

Actually considering the LG C8 is $2,495, the $150 off on the AMEX deal is not a bad buy, if I had 3 x AMEX cards I would absolutely jump on this for $450 off:

      • Agree for 3 Amex, close to $2045 is great

Note, After 2 Amex, the following tv still have a bit gap ($800), something for buyer to consider.
        Sony x9000 55” $1395 vs LG C8 55” $2195

        • True, but quality difference is night and day.

The only decent OLED that is close to this in price is the Panasonic FZ950. Whilst that TV is great with 4K content it is nowhere near as good at upscaling FTA content as the Sony 90F. So if you watch a lot of FTA, the Sony would win out.

  • In VIC all electronics are handled and sold by harvey norman, not domayne. How can we use the offer in store for this so we can split payment and use 2 amex for 300 off?
