Definitely doesn't trump the Kmart deal with Xbox for $299, however, if you aren't willing or able to sell on the Xbox and just want the Kinect this is the deal for you. Shipping for me is showing as $4.

    Nice deal - also am I right in saying this is what you want if you have an older phat X360 that needs the kinect to be plugged into an external power source?

      Off wikipedia so it take with a grain of salt but it sounds about right…

      Yes, the new Xbox 360 slim can send more than the USB standard current (500mA maximum) and the Kinect requires something like 1A for both the IR laser and the motorized tilt things..

      This just means you get some weird frankenstein looking power plug when you buy the Kinect by itself, so that it can get the extra power from the wall.

          use some logic bud…. the current console tech is over 6 years old already (was released 2005- making tech even older), and ever since consoles were first made their time lines suggest no more than 5 years until the next version is released. 2014 is widely regarded as when new console will be available retail. with 24month lead in time for development and promo, i would think either this years or 2012's E3 will have some further insight into the next gen console.

      The standalone Kinect package always come with a power adaptor. It is only the bundled one doesnt come with it.

      too expensive to begin with. im an xbox owner, but as much as I wanted it no way I was spending that much on the sensor. big marketing mistake by MS. if they wanted a big chunk of Wii players, they needed to pretty much give this thing away so people would buy all the new games.

          i wasnt arguing that dude…. i was arguing the fact that it could have much more market satuation than it does even now. $200 was too much to ask from existing xbox owners… considering the troubles they've had with red rings of death! and even now, there's not a lot of games available for the kinect. could have been a lot more by now.

        It will take a little bit to load into the system, usually it takes 2-3 hours from when they've shipped it, but I've received my item before it's updated before. It's a weird and wacky system.
