  • Yi 4K

    Reminds me of Y2K

    • The predecessor to this was known as the Yi 4K 2 or Yi 4K II, so close enough :)

  • +1

Remember no warranty with this seller.

    • +2

Like all overseas sellers, though OzBargainers take bigger risks with their $600+ phones bought overseas ;)

GeekBuying does offer a warranty on this product and if for any reason you had to return the product then you should already have Paypal's refunded returns activated. Allows you to receive up to $45 back from Paypal for returning your order.

  • +2

Rubbish, I just got a refund via PayPal for a faulty tablet that had to be returned via PayPal as geekbuying would not respond to my emails about the faulty item and didn't reply to the PayPal requests either so PayPal refunded so geekbuying DON'T have a warranty as from my experience.

    • +1

I'm sorry that you had that experience. Out of curiosity when was this? When I'm contacted for any issues I always try to get a satisfactory resolution.

  • Newbie question, this or the Go Pro Hero (Inc flash to Hero5) ?

    • Show me a GoPro Hero deal right now

    • +4

If we were to compare the Yi 4K Plus to the GoPro Hero5 Black for example, the Yi has a newer chipset which allows for 4K@60fps compared to GoPro's 4K@30fps, a maximum bitrate of 120Mbps compared to 60Mbps and image stabilisation up to 4k@30fps compared to 2.7K@30fps.

  • +1

I got the refund from PayPal today. The issue and emails to geekbuying sent over 7weeks ago and waiting weeks for no response, don't make out like this is a one off case geekbuying has the worst customer service with there stalling tactics to wait for the PayPal warranty time to expire and don't make out like you will do anything about it.

More than happy to grab your Order Number so I can at least find out what went wrong and how I can get Geek to improve for OzBargain. If not, have a good night :)

  • this is cheaper on ebay?

    • Is it? I had a look on eBay and could not find this pack. Just remember that this is the Yi 4K+ (Yi 4K Plus) and not the older Yi 4K.

      • ohh is see! thanks for the correction :)

Order number 4595553 and how about the $39 bucks back for shipping it back that I'm out of pocket.lets see how you run away from this complaint as you will with other faulty items that ozbargainers get.

    • +4

      Yeah alright ease up mate.

  • how long does it take to ship to Melbourne Victoria?

    • I figured it out, 15-30 business days (free) or 5-8 Business Days for $8.77

      • Correct. Processing can be 2-7 days however.

  • -1

Told YOU Associated that you'd run and avoid the complaint as geekbuying does.I will make sure that i post how bad your customer service and non existent warranty is to help fellow ozbargainers to stay away from geekbuying on every post you do .

Gees give me an appropriate amount of time to actually contact GeekBuying and get to the bottom of it. Particularly when I was given the order number very late at night.

You probably don't realise this but I live in Australia and do this as a side hobby so I just can't walk up to them and ask.

    • point to the part of the doll where geekbuying hurt you

    • +7

Alright I've spoken to GeekBuying, checked the ticket, emails, tracking etc…

You ordered a tablet on June the 3rd and 5 months later you contacted GeekBuying on the 29th of November as the tablet had a boot loop. You requested it be returned for warranty repair or else "i will put in a dispute with paypal or reverse via credit card" as you wanted a "fast solution".

GeekBuying respond to your email on the 30th of November requesting pictures etc. of the fault as proof. On that same day you open a dispute with Paypal.

On the 4th of December you email GeekBuying with pictures of the fault and say you've raised a dispute due to the apparent bad service and delay.

On the 5th of December GeekBuying provide the return address for the tablet and on the 6th of December you send the tablet back.

The tablet is received by GeekBuying on the 13th of December (as per the tracking) and they opt for a refund. Due to the fact that you've raised a dispute the transaction is now under investigation by Paypal. At the conclusion of the investigation they determine you will receive a refund.

You receive a refund from Paypal. Case closed.

So basically within 24 hours of contacting GeekBuying you raised a Paypal dispute and 3 business days later complain that they don't give good service and delay all the time. They offer the solution of returning for refund which you agree to and send it back. Due to the PayPal dispute the actual transaction is frozen and GeekBuying are unable to do anything with those funds as covered by PayPal here. They had to wait for the conclusion of the investigation by Paypal for a refund to occur.

So now the only problem I see is that you made this mess yourself by almost immediately escalating to a PayPal dispute without giving GeekBuying a reasonable time to even offer a solution. Then you come in here with claims about how they took 7 weeks, didn't respond to your emails among other things which are clearly false based on the email trail, PP dispute and tracking number.

That's not to mention how rude you were in emails. They're people too you know?!

All in all you have received a refund for your faulty product that you would have received anyway had you been reasonable.

        Checkmate.

The truth always prevails. Hope spock has the courage to apologise and retract his threat:

I will make sure that i post how bad your customer service and non existent warranty is to help fellow ozbargainers to stay away from geekbuying on every post you do .

More lies you didn't respond to emails sent about faulty unit thats why I had to go to PayPal and if you had any kind of customer service you would respond I can also up the PayPal transcripts of geekbuying not responding to there email also so I don't no BS your Trying to cover up your so called facts, and now your saying PayPal are liers to, I don't think so.

    • +3

Lies? Your lies won't fool anyone here especially when your emails back it all up. As does the tracking of your package sent from QLD which I'm more than happy to provide.

  • -1

I NEVER denied that i sent it back dah and heres the proof from paypal that you never respond how far do you want to go with your lies https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/208363/65533/paypal_ge…
