Clive Peeters are currently running a sale with 40% off Toshiba laptops.

Sales guy said that it does not apply to netbooks. Although some advertising said it did include netbooks so they may honor that if you are lucky.

Not sure when it ends, I did not see a date in the store, I am guessing Sunday will be the last day. I believe it is all stores. I went to Aspley in QLD.

They are owned by Harvey Norman so it is basically the same deal as HN had recently. Good if you missed out.

update:
For clarification - In store only, not online. They had a big dotmattix style sign at the side of the road on saturday advertising this.

I got an nb550 for $295, RRP $499

        Yes, i bought the Toshiba A660-03C for $359 from Harvey Norman which was the price after 40% off during the sale from a HN NSW store. Great laptop for that price, really hard to beat. However, I ended up selling it after a week because I found it to heavy and big for use on the go, since I only used it for travelling.

          (A660 is the premium model which the cheapest A660 model retails for at least $1399.

      States 9hrs - so I presume this means it is the 6-cell battery - rather than the 3-cell that Wow have at $299 in their current catalogue. So good price even if their current 40% off on "laptops" excludes netbooks. (Good find, watwatwat - even worth a separate OzB posting!)

    this must be the quickest sale in history i just went through that site and could only even find one Toshiba laptop a netbook with $50 off

    Thier website http://www.clivepeeters.com.au/products/computers-technology… has 3 Toshiba laptops: Satellite L650/0K4 about 3% off, Satellite L650/0K3 about the same discount, and the netbook mwntioned above listed at 15% off, not 40%??

    RRP quoted is from a year ago.
    I went to 3 CP stores in Melbourne this morning and they had almost no stock.
    not a bargain (I am not giving any negative vote to this post though).

    Apparently CP (may be HN as well) is getting a 20% cashback from Toshiba on selected models (excluding ntebooks) so they can afford to give a bigger discount.

    Nonetheless, this netbook is well priced (@$296) after the normal $53 discount, and this model is cheaper than JB, WOW and other retailers by around $100.

    Was tempted to buy it today but meh… not a true bargain if they don't give me further discount~

      Discount was in store only. It was off the price advertised on their site too. I actually received more than 40% off on my purchase.

    Wow - great price on an NB550. Nice looking unit, OP. And encouraging to see you got the 40% to apply to a netbook too. Which battery - 3-cell or 6-cell?
