    No Gatwick ???

    A Dji ripoff?

    • +6

Form follows function, they're all gonna look similar. Can't see any reason to buy this over the better supported Dji though

A bit like when Apple tried to sue Samsung because their phones were black rectangles…

For the price, I rather buy a DJI.

    • Totally agree. The Autel EVO was made to compete with the Mavic Pro. You can get a brand new Mavic Pro from an official DJI distributor for $1299 and it comes with 2 extra batterries.

Be very careful with these drones, do your research

  • The Autel EVO has pretty decent reviews. Specially after installing their latest firmware updates. I seriously considered getting one in December but then bought a heap of photography gear instead :)

  • Hey All,

While i dont own one, i have used one and also the DJI's (various models).

For this Price, this drone is EXCELLENT

Out of the box it has excellent controls, and a screen which is better than the DJI. When i had the chance to fly this and the DJI i quickly went back to the AUTEL all the time, as it was easier to use and a better experience.

My Honest Opinion (Compare to the DJI Mavic 2)

    • Controllers Better (much much)
    • Camera just as good, its rated better, but both are good (i couldn't tell the difference)
    • Portability - the Same
    • Price - AUTEL much cheaper and with the deal with the battery its a Bargain

I could easily write up a pretty detailed review for anyone interested, but this isn't a DJI Clone, its a DJI Killer

If i could own one… i would hands down, every day of the week.

      What a shill.

Personally, I wouldn't be comparing it to the Mavic 2, it's a whole class above the autel… You'd want to make the comparison between the first gen Mavic pro or the Mavic Air.

      • Fair Enough - this is my view only, i am sure someone that lives and breaths drones for a living may have different opinions which is why its good as mentioned earlier, to do your own research so you know what you are buying matches your needs.

Totally agree. And you can get MP FMC's for way less money then this with 1 more battery.

        Good drone? yes
DJI killer? Ummmmmm no. Excellent alternative though.

I have a lot of experience with DJI drones (own three). If someone wanted to buy me one of these I would be happy to write a very in depth and detailed review/comparison of the two brands ;) lol.

  • I've owned and flown both the Mavic and Autel Evo, and the Evo has the wow factor with its flying and camera performance, it fies extremely well and a very stable platform.
Best bang for buck by along shot !
The Mavic 2 Zoom is it's primary competitor and that drone doesn't shoot 4K video at 60fps, it doesn't have a 8x optical zoom, the Evo shoots photos In both raw or jpg, the controller has a built in all
LED screen, so option to fly without mobile,/tablet, and the dynamic range of the Evo is astounding. There are many more features.
The Evo is a high end quality drone, and I should know as own one myself, I can qualify my comments by saying this drone is as good as the Mavic 2 Zoom, but at a price more than $500 cheaper.
Buy one, because I know you will definitely not be disappointed.

    • Autel has digital zoonm only vs true optical on the DJI.

No side sensors on the Evo.

The Evo is really a Mavic Pro competitor not the Mavic Pro 2. The Evo was released months before the MP2. Oh and those legs make it larger than the Mavic Pro (not 2) when folded.

I like Autels offerings but they're lagging in the drone game. And left it far too late to have proper distribution in Australia.

  • I've seen a few comments above without any qualification, they are simply an opinion.
The Autel Evo is far superior to the Mavic Pro, why do say that, because I've owned both.
The camera on the Evo makes the Mavic Pro camera look very very ordinary.
The Autel Evo drone compares to the Mavic 2 Zoom, not the Mavic Pro.

  • Is this an official Autel release? Do we get local support in AU like they do with USA?

  • Hi BargainKen,
I've used Autels customer service for both my own X Star Premium and Evo. Their service has been exemplary (first class) for me, and I've read many reports saying they are rated best in the drone industry.
Their customer service is based out of Seattle, USA.
If you want to see some Evo videos in Australia, look up my YouTube channel - Ross Langdon.
