Saw this in the Woolies catalogue .
I’m thinking that no way is it worth $60 and postage cost is probably close to it’s real value.

    • +5

What!?! You mean you wouldn't pay $60 (+10 postage) to walk around in an ugly Rashy with Canadian club branding plastered all over it?

    • I think it's more a matter of who would but it, as one could say almost every product on the market isn't sold at face-value.

  • +1

Would it be cancer council approved? Or at least guaranteed to block UV?
I looked through the terms and conditions and couldn't find mention of what the Rashie is manufactured from, or any sun-blocking rating.

    • +3

LOL at first I thought you where asking if Canadian Club the drink was Cancer Council approved :)

    • They would be if they're by the same people that do the Ugly Xmas Rashies - https://uglyxmasrashie.com.au/ - but I don't know if they are…

    • +1

All clothing blocks UV but the color, material, weave and texture of your clothing can affect how well it protects you from UV rays. Synthetic and semisynthetic fibers like polyester or rayon are the best choices for sun protection, as are dense, heavy, tightly woven fabrics like wool, denim or corduroy

  • +1

Anyone know what is the largest size ?

    Edit - s, m, l and xl

    • +1

      (For others):

The PDF version and the web version of the Promotion Terms state:

[16.] The rashie is only available in four (4) sizes (small, medium, large and extra-large). Whilst the Promoter will attempt to award the rashie size in accordance with the size selected on the claim form, the exact rashie size to be awarded will be subject to availability and at the discretion of the Promoter.

Its an ugly rashy - i need one but i'll just use old NRL tops this summer.

    • +4

Think that's the point of it…

  • +1

      • -1

        Me four. Please PM :)

        • use the one above

        • Just keep adding one to the code above until it works. Mine worked with 5786433325581

          • +1

@mjp80: Yeah i did the same thing, just changed last 3 digits. As long as it goes above that number should work.

  • the delivery cost and ugly design of the rashie kills the deal for me

    • +1

      ugly design of the rashie

Isn't that the point of the deal lol?

    • +3

Better hold out for the free Veuve Clicquot champagne beautiful christmas sweater rashie deal.

    • So basically you would like it free or nothing?

      • Yeah. Why not? Have already purchased $20 + worth of CD products already so expected it to be free.

        • You better get to the back of the line with that attitude.

  • +2

Make sure to order one size smaller than you need for full nips action

  • Talk about poor wording in their T&C's (PDF)

The legal T&C's specify the minimum spend requirement to be in excess of $20.01! (i.e. $20.02 or greater)! I think some (lawyer?) from Beam Suntory Australia needs to go back to English comprehension school :-D

    1. Multiple claims permitted, subject to the following: (a) only one (1) claim permitted per Qualifying Transaction (regardless of the amount spent on Canadian Club in that transaction in excess of $20.01); and (b) each claim must be submitted separately and in accordance with claim requirements. Offer is strictly limited to the first 4,200 valid claims received.
    • +2

No it makes sense. The section you’re reading is regarding multiple claims. What they’re saying is you can’t get a second rashie from the one transactions, regardless of if you’ve spent $40/$60/any amount in excess of $20.01.

      • +1

        Thanks!

Perhaps I need to go back to English comprehension school? :-D (or at least, speed reading comprehension school!)

        • English comprehension school

I believe they prefer the term "law school"… ;)

  • Looks like sh!t. But maybe after a few CC's you won't care.

    • +7

Amazed at all the comments saying the 'ugly sweater' looks ugly!

      • is this a new concept for people???

        • Its not very common at all in Australia though.

  • Free* Bad Sweater Rashie

    That's actually really accurate.

    • Its a cardigan, but thanks for noticing

  • +1

I found any code works…. Either that or I just got lucky!! Went all the way to PayPal screen but didn't proceed as I was only being curious

    • I wonder if a hoo-man validates it before shipping?

    • Yeap just tried and same thing

  • Who would wear this? Damn it's fugly as.

    • +3

The thing is with these, they're so bad people know they're meant to be like that… Which is better than trying to be cool and failing :-P

  • " I confirm I have my original purchase receipt with Unique Code as proof of purchase. I understand that if I am drawn as a winner, I will be required to provide a copy."

Well (profanity), I used the ticket paying for gas on the way home. They better not ask for it, or they better send a refund.

I won the CC esky at my local a month or so back too, one entry per CC bought in there. They've already got enough of my money.

    • +2

Yeah but also in the T&Cs:

For the removal of doubt, if a claimant’s claim is not successful, they will not be charged the $9.95 fee

      and also

Successful claimants will be notified immediately on screen at the time of submitting their claim and by email.

I'd say the biggest risk in the T&Cs is:

Whilst the Promoter will attempt to award the rashie size in accordance with the size selected on the claim form, the exact rashie size to be awarded will be subject to availability and at the discretion of the Promoter.

They're gonna run out of Larges first, then Mediums

      • Noice!

I should change my name to TheDukeOfNotbotheringtoreadts&cs

Love a bad taste shirt of any kind - double bonus I can embarrass the kids at the beach now with it too!

If anyone has a spare code would appreciate it? Please pm me!

    • No need, just plug in a random 13 digit number and it should work

  • +1

How much is a rash vest at a low cost department store?

    • $15 at decathlon. Not sure about elsewhere.

    • Got one for $8 at Aldi last fortnight.

  • Thank you for your details!
Below are the postage details we have recieved form PayPal. Please ensure these are correct.

    Recipent Poatage address:

you would possibly think it's a phishing site with all the spelling mistakes but I guess they just outsourced it to an Indian web company. Anyway, I haven't bought CC in years but you can just MAKE A CODE UP using one template above and get it anyway.

  • PM me an unwanted code please :)

  • Gift to people you really hate.

  • Oh shit people are right, just bash in random numbers until you can't anymore and it seems to work

      Thanks bro claimed

  • is it a sweater or a rash shirt?

    • +1

I'm guessing it's a rash shirt with a design that looks like a sweater.

  • Basically paying $10 for a rash shirt looks like a sweater, but not actually a sweater.

  • Recipent Poatage address:

  • +3

Haha threw a random last 3 digits in just to test. Then backed out at payment. I can't bring myself to pay for this.

  • +2

An actual Christmas sweater that's applicable to Australia

  • +1

FYI Rashie can also be used for No-Gi Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu. Ozbargain spirit.

  • +1

Thanks. Got one with a random number.

Should be pretty unique in the surf :D

    • haha same

  • What about the condition that if drawn as a winner (whatever that means) then I'll provide a copy of the original receipt? Likely required?

    • I honestly think they will just be happy that someone paid them the $10 to take it rather then them dumping them.

    • They took my money already, so I doubt it.
It is great free advertising for CC.

  • +3

I think the is a bit of a dogshit move from CC and BWS.

These started as a Cancer Council fundraiser - https://uglyxmasrashie.com.au/about/

If you like the look buy one from there.

    • Totally different rashie (this has Cc printed on front). But yes, cancer council would be a more ethical choice (albeit 7x more).

On other news, this could just be ugly enough to repel sharks!

      https://www.wired.com/2013/08/wetsuits-that-use-science-to-d…

      • this could just be ugly enough to repel sharks!

Maybe females may want to get this for hubby, to repel other females when their man takes shirt off .

  • Thanks OP.
Perfect for the next OzB swim meet

  • Just realized this isn't an actual sweater, but basically just a standard long sleeve tee, that looks like a jumper.

I'm happy either way, but tbh I'm rooting for an understock situation and me getting a refund.

    • +1

      it's a rashie

      • I've never heard of them before this thing, and then subsequently Googling.

Out of the loop, I guess.

        • Rashies are good if you can’t be bothered shaving your back.

pm me code please :) appreciated.

I'd love a code please, thanks. pm me.

    • Just punch in any numbers until you can't put in any more numbers. Thats what I just did and it worked fine

      • Thank you kindly! It works!

  • Cheers OP

Anyone have a spare code i can use ?

    • Err did you read any of the above comments…

  • They've upped it to 19 characters for the code. Anyone pick up their CC for Australia Day and wish to share a code or even post a used code to copy the format.

  • Okay my 19 digit code is:

    356 1437 0016 7608 0239

Got mine delivered yesterday - just used a random number and they were happy to accept my $10. Got the size I requested.

    • Any good?

      • +2

More than $10 worth in my humble opinion. It's reasonable quality material. Canadian Club logo is not TOO prominent.

I only had short sleeve rashies, so was interested in a long sleeve one for the occasional kayaking etc.

  • Got mine delivered yesterday, never received a confirmation email or anything so was wondering if it would ever turn up.

Well worth picking a random number and $10

  • Got mine yesterday, with a random number. Its reasonable quality. And very unique!

  • Yeah got mine, i like it!
