So is the best deal loop going to be: find eBay gift cards, get 10% off then sign up for eBay plus and use 15% off pay with gift cards?

.. and I just saw gift cards are excluded.

Cars, Bikes, Boats (9800), Car & Truck Parts (6030), Coins (11116), Collectables (1), Gift Cards (184609)

Edit: just noticed your ninja edit!

  • So no eBay gift cards this time…? Actually it’s only gift cards from big companies if you buy a gift card off a regular person the code still works since it’s a loop hole.

    • I think it goes on classification. So if its under "Gift cards", it would be excluded, but if it were under some other category (e.g toys), then it would be all the same and work.

@[Deactivated]: Ok, you take the treatment you got here as a reason not to post in future. I get that.

But what stopped you last time?

Methinks you're not really into this community anyway and disappointed now that they don't humour you no matter how often a question has been asked before…

Asking a lot and not willing to give anything yourself. Many people like that make a site toxic.

People please just buy as soon as possible, the code may expired at any time. Otherwise we'll see lots of disappointed comments about code expire early

    • +2

It isn't even active yet. It starts at 10.00 AEDT tomorrow (according to the T&Cs page).

  • +6

Thought the code was a reference to Big Papi

    • +1

Rofl was at a dinner party last night when the husband played that inside for the guys and all the girls were out back with the mega boom playing sound 😂😂😂😂😂

    • +1

I thought it referred to the Pineapple-Apple-Pen…

  • They finally heard us….

    • +4

      Min spend $120

Yeah nah. Min spend should be like $20.

  • -1

Does this only apply for "But Now" options?

    • It applies to any transaction (BIN or auction), so long as you check out using the code before it expires

  • +8

eBay jumping on the Dylan Napa saga with this Code?

  • +10

Still nothing for the ebay plus guys

    • Sounds like we're surplus to their requirements lol

    • +1

At least with Amazon Prime you get video…

  • Why the app tho? To get people to use it so they can spam us with their constant ads via notifications?

    • Yeah and the search page in app is rather sub par.

      • +5

Yep, just put all the stuff in your cart via regular browser, then jump onto your phone/tablet and purchase via their sub-par app.

    • +3

because when you browse their website from your computer inside a browser they have limited access to your data and what you're doing, when you use their app they know every single thing you look at, press on, can send you annoying push notifications, etc etc

companies these days use their shitty apps as the common newsletter of old with added telemetry

    • Notifications (they can reach you when they want which means a loss of money for you) and tracking particularly identifying you to tie all your ebay data to all the other data they purchase from data brokers about you (which means a loss of money for you).

    • you can disable it

  • +4

I checked Ozbargain for any eBay codes probably 10 minutes before this post and then spent $350 in two transactions. I still got some discount with 'package' but this would have been better.

    • +5

It's just the way it goes. Sales are unpredictable.

      • +1

Not really. There is always a 10% ebay wide around the corner every 2-4 weeks these days. 15% sidewide are unpredictable though and rare for eBay Aus.

        • And generally new codes are activated 10AM mondays.

        • +5

15% sidewide are unpredictable though and rare for eBay Aus.

I ate too much over christmas & new year and have since been a bit sidewide.

    • +1

If it's been less than an hour since your purchase, and the seller hasn't sent the item yet, you can cancel your order yourself.

Thanks OP. Will save $$$ buying a new Iphone tomorrow.

  • Thanks OP!

  • isn't 15% off from AUPLUSJAN15 15% off Sitewide for New eBay Plus Members better than this deal?

    • +11

Lol not if you're an ebay plus member - we got shafted hard in that deal

      • +1

And max discount is 150 on the other deal.

If you buy big ticket items, then 10% is better.

      • +3

Yep I paid for Ebay Plus membership, I definitely won't be doing that. The only benefit has been the additional Flybys!!! Ebay needs to start looking after plus customers…

        • The additional flybuys points I've accrued have already paid for my EP membership - it's worth it for that alone for me.

    • Yep

    • +2

      Just make a new account?

Might be able to buy gift cards with the 15% off and then buy something of interest with this 10% off?

Kms, just brought a suitcase this morning

    • +17

Or you know, be disappointed for 10 minutes and then move on. "KMS" for the sake of what, like $20, is pretty dramatic and insensitive to those who have serious suicidal thoughts.

  • +1

OK, but I'm deleting the app straight after. That cool with you ebay?

  • I wonder if I can win an auction tonight but use the discount when I pay tomorrow

    • +1

      you can.

  • +1

why do these always come AFTER major purchases……

    • +1

Because you focus on the past instead of the future…

    • +1

Why do I buy anything, ever?

  • +1

Man those Ebay bots are working overtime on the upvotes

    • -5

If only the trolls would work overtime on thinking up some new complaints.

  • An item I want is on sale until today on eBay. It's a buy it now item. I can't seem to find anywhere that tells me if it requires immediate payment or whether I can delay it until tomorrow morning. Can anyone help show me where to find it? I'm using the app if that makes any difference

    • If the particular listing requires immediate payment, then you'll have to wait until tomorrow. If you can commit to the purchase and pay tomorrow, then you can still use the code.

      • Thanks, how can I check if it requires immediate payment?

        • Just try buying it, if it takes you to the payment screen then you are out of luck

        • Click on the 'Postage and payments' tab, scroll down to 'Payment details' and it will say

Immediate payment required for this item

if you need to pay straight away.

          • @dm01: Thank you for that information. Turns out you can't see it on the eBay app but have to go via webpage and there's a lot more info there than what you can see in the app.

            • @tokziktigah: Ah, I didn't realise that's not visible in the app, sorry.

  • +2

Jeez, $120 min spend. How many people here have it sitting in the cart & just waiting for this deal to pop up?

    • +1

      Me.

  • Quick question: Can I purchase an item and pay tomorrow using the code?

    • How to purchase without paying?

      • By hitting the buy it now button n checkout tomorrow

        • +1

You have answered your own question now

      • Add to cart option

    • +3

Most places will require you to pay as a part of ‘committing to buy’ so you can’t commit to buying a ‘buy it now’ item without paying at the same time. If it’s a bidding item that ends today, then yes you can win it today and then pay later.

TL;DR: No, unless it’s an auction.

    • Found any good deals? Cheapest I can see is ~$440ish.. even with 10% that's the same as Amazon (without cashback). Was hoping to pick one up around $330-$350 myself
