Sweet, I bought like 20 boxes last time these were on half price…!

      too sweet too much sugars

  • +2

Finally! These take a while to come on 1/2 price!

slightly disappointing that their Australian ingredients percentage seems low for a company that claims "proudly made and owned in Australia"

    • +3

Got to remember that most of the ingredients (especially nuts and dried fruit) are not easily sourced here in Australia. We just don't grow enough of it at low prices, and what we do grow is usually not the kind of quality they would throw in a muesli/nut/etc bar.

At $2.80, got to be realistic, WW and Carman's need to make some kind of profit to stay in business.

      Yeah, I'll stock up.

So don't decieve people with messages for idiots like "proudly made and owned in Australia".

        • +2

No one is responsible for your interpretation. There is nothing in the quote that talks about ingredients, and how you made the leap is ludicrous.

        You can get nuts anywhere.

    The best, Jerry. The best!

    • +2

I don't normally give out bites. I have another one, but i'm saving it forrr later

      • +2

How do you eat it, with your HANDS?

  • +3

    Will Amazon AU match this?

    • Yep they most likely will update their price in the morning.

    • +1

      Apparently not.

Nice and natural but bars are also half price at Coles and woolies for anyone that prefers them.

    • Trail Mix is like crack. It’s very moorish.

    • Nice and Natural But(t) how I like them

      • I went to edit it as soon as I picked it up but g452 snuck a reply in just as I submitted. But I don’t know what would be worse, nut or but.

      • -1

I like it thick and slow.

          That's what she said

  • Oh good, I had to buy a box at full price on the weekend.

  • Great price and so many different varieties. I've never bought this particular brand before. So what variety is the most popular…any favourites or are they all good?

    • My favourite is the Almond, Hazelnut Vanilla Nut Bars

    • Dark Chocolate and Cranberry Protein Bars. The third greatest bar ever - Behind Monaco and Mars :)

    • Coconut protein by far

  • +3

If you like the Carmen's protein bar varieties they also sell them at Officeworks so you can price beat for another 5% off. https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/carman-s-p…

    • George Bizet, from Operas to protein bars xd

  • Good bars. I buy the Aldi Hillcrest bars (6pack) when Carmen’s aren’t on sale. They hit the spot.

    • +1

You're only supposed to eat them.

  • +6

I love Carman’s muesli bars but even with the special it works out to be more than $10/kg. As I eat muesli (bars) at my work desk and don’t need the convenience of a bar I’ve started buying the Heritage Mill muesli clusters. They’re 4 star ratings and you can get them half price quite often for $3.50/kg. Portion control is the hard part. I usually use a cup and pour out the equivalent of a bar. Anyone else do this?

    • +2

This is a properly good idea!! And it's a breakfast and a snack. Multipurpose!

Not only do you save, but if you're good enough you can try try….um… really try to teach yourself self control.

      I'm going to struggle.

    • +1

      They’re 4 star ratings

      Meaningless though.

And they have more calories than Carman's.

      • +1

You actually made me look it up. My favourite Carman’s is the fruit free muesli bars (1900kJ/100g) vs my favourites from HM - Berry Bliss (1700kJ/100g) or Cocoa Coconut (1740kJ/100g) so no it doesn’t. Anyway, as it’s obvious, I’m not choosing one over the other because of the calorie count. It’s the fact one is almost 1/3 of the price of something I consider very similar and as tasty.

  • Haven’t tried their nut bars. I love their oat bars though, think I’ll stock up and buy more than 10 boxes this time

  • +4

Good lord the sugar content in these

    • +3

The protein ones are the better of the bunch in terms of sugar. 5.5g per bar is just over 1 teaspoon in something like the Protein Salted Caramel one. That's less than an apple (even after you consider the fibre that an apple would provide).

  • +2

yep ive gone off these now the sugar content too high and they taste very sweet too

  • Why most of Ozzie kids food are (profanity) sweet, that's too bad for our kids!

    • These are targeted at adults?

  • +5

Managed to get 27 boxes before my girlfriend yelled at me, thanks for the post!

    • +1

She would have been more understanding if you told her you were buying bars.
