In this day and age you'd have to be a complete idiot to pay for a DV certificate. Just use Let's Encrypt.

  • Let’s encrypt as has already been pointed out

  • LE

  • If you need SSL, consider using Let's Encrypt as it's free and automatic, and can also do wildcard. There's integrations for most server softwares and most good hosting providers will have it inbuilt to their panel.

  • Lol. Still trying to sell this garbage in 2019

  • Does LE have warranty/insurance too?

    • Has anyone, throughout the history of time, ever been paid anything because of TLS certificate insurance (other than the seller of certificates)? It literally means nothing and is a pure marketing scam.

      • It comes with other features like 500K warranty from GeoTrust CA, Dynamic GeoTrust Site seal that helps to make your website as safe for shoppers for their data.

Hmm, I guess it covers your ass in case your website gets hacked…?

        • Take a read of https://scotthelme.co.uk/do-ssl-warranties-protect-you-as-mu… if you're someone who really thinks you need warranties on an SSL certificate

          • @rldowling03: huh…interesting read….it just covers the certificate and not website or business….and not that no one has claimed an insurance warranty ever….yet…or have but dont wanna publicize it…

            • @Zachary: Maybe it's just me, but I struggle to find any information about the GeoTrust warranty they claim to provide and what it actually does and doesn't cover.

I just think it's a marketing word used to add value to something that nobody (or next to nobody) would ever use, if we'd ever find out about any cases.

              • @rldowling03: Perhaps the rep here could explain it? Yo rep could you answer this question for us please?
