    Competing with the Optus deal?

  • Thanks OP seems great value, does anyone know if you can stack this on a 3gb plan with almost a year on it?

    • +2

No. It will cancel out your existing plan.

    • +1

Nope. You could grab a cheapy phone and use the supplied SIM/number as a wi-fi hotspot…

  • +4

    Blimey, that is unbelievably cheap.

  • Great price, any idea if there is a date it needs to be activated by?

    • Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 28/02/2019.

    • Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 28/02/2019.

    • Edit: Beaten to it

  • +1

Got one of these for my folks, happy campers so far.

  • +10

    $96.82 SMALL 3GB
    $152.30 LARGE 20GB
$188.10 EXTRA LARGE 40GB (price not live yet for XL)

edit: price for SMALL went back up to $161.82

price error? someone messing around with prices without knowing what they're doing?

    edit: LARGE now $254.30

    prices are going up. HURRY!!!

  • pity Current customers only

  • +2

Somebody has coded another 40% off the already discounted price……whoopsies

    • +1

Anyone confirming thjs is a price error?????

Did some calculation, it is another 40% off the 30%.

      Is this right ??

  • Hm, anyone check their Kogan account? The Medium account increased from 7GB to 13GB.

  • Thank you op got one .

  • Good deal if obtainable!

    Edit: got one!

  • 10 months ago my Large offers around 10GB I think.

Regular upgrades in data and now its 20Gb for large.

So will consider dropping back to just medium as I rarely use anywhere near 50% of my data allowance.

    Kogan allows downgrade in recharge???

    • +1

Yep, when your current plan is about to expire, you can recharge with whatever voucher you bought.

  • What is the Kogan reception like?
Do you get 4G also how is the data speeds?
I have my kids on the Amaysim $10 plan this looks great for the data if it is fast enough for them to use.
also how easy is it to port over and how long does it take.

    • Porting is pretty easy last time I do it.
      All through their online portal.
      Took couple hours the longest.

Reception is good with my iPhone. But so so with me Samsung s9+.
Not sure if it's a bad sim or not .

      • I reckon it's the S9+, cause mine has terrible signal with Telstra postpaid somehow…

The S7 Edge it replaced had much better reception.

    • +1

They use Vodafone. Very good in Sydney metro

    • +1

Around town its fine.In the country forget it..from port Augusta to Uluru there was no reception. We travel a bit and its a pain we have to carry a third phone with a telstra sim…

      mixo

    • We ported over from Vodafone; no issues as Kogan Mobile uses Vodafone. Great reception most everywhere, all over Melbourne 4G. Took less than half hour to port ours (365 day small, medium and large) over, although others may take longer; possibly could depend on timing to port over from those. No problem with speeds here. Check your coverage maps on Vodafone if not shown on Kogan Mobile.

  • Go here if you add the ones they look discounted they all are!

    https://www.kogan.com/au/shop/phones/prepaid-plans/?facet-in…

    • Explain the link plez

  • 13Gb per month not enough

    • +3

get the 20gb plan then for an extra $30, or go to 40gb for an extra $70

  • +1

iv been waiting for this yay 13gb is more then enough for my needs!

  • Awesome!!! thanks so much OP & kamoi for the links, got the XL Plan!! unbelievable price just in time as my old plan is expiring in a few days!
I've been waiting for a good deal!!

  • I'm not a current customer of Kogan, could I just buy the prepaid starter pack for $1, and then buy the medium plan? I'll activate the $1 sim first, and then apply the medium plan? Coincidently, I had been looking at the medium plan for a while since my Optus sim only plan finished, I was just waiting for some gift cards to go on sale.

    • +1

Yes it should be fine. Add the second voucher when first one is expired as it wipes out the first one if you do sooner

    • Hi I just checked and is valid for activation and recharge. So If you wanted you could just buy this .

  • Does Kogan have international roaming?

  • just curious, what do you guys use the phone data on?

    • Mindless scrolling through social media, watching videos when I'm on my way somewhere far, sometimes if the wifi is crap I'll just use 4G instead.

    • Anything related to internet.
FB, Netflix, YouTube, redtube, WhatsApp, line, web surfing, checking out ozbargain deals

      Mainly browsing ozb deals

    • For me it acts as backup when my internet drops out.

      And public transport rides.

  • Wish they were using telstra network 😔

    • +1

If it was, it wouldn't be at this price point.

  • +1

I bought the Large pack yesterday for $254… anyone know if they'll refund me? They've already sent the voucher code but I haven't activated anything. Contacted support just then.

    • Do us a favor. Suck it up and say nothing, in case it's a pricing error

  • +1

And here I was wondering why I haven't sold mine in the classifieds for $190.

  • Beating myself for buying the 375GB catch connect plan for $205. I was already with kogan, it would have been so much easier :(

    • +1

Catch connect gives you also some international minutes. If you use them that’s a good reason.

  • Just bought 3 medium plans. I only need to buy one more but I’m thinking about it. I was contemplating whether I should get an Optus sim plan via flybuys or phone. But at these prices very hard to resist! All my family had had Kogan for over a year and works flawless

  • Any word on how long it takes for the recharge voucher code to generate? It's been a while since I bought one last time.

Edit: woops never mind, I clicked on the 'view order' button in the email I received and it has 'Voucher sent:' and a string of numbers, so I'm guessing this is the recharge number.

    • +1

      Yes that’s correct. I placed 3 orders,
I got 1 email with the voucher (which is the same as on view order). On other order I can see the voucher too, but on the last one it says only payment processed and there is even a button to cancel.
      I hope they will honour.

  • +1

Voucher does not apply to subsequent recharges.

  • Can I pay with gift card?

  • Price gone up?

  • Is there something wrong with the pricing? The XL pack keeps changing between $188.10 and $315.10 on the website.

  • Seems they were all price errors, all these kogan deals change to full price when trying to buy

  • all over, will see if they honor it

  • wtf

  • Shit. I just paid 200 dollars last week. I used 28 degrees credit card. Any price protection that I can claim?

    • Looks like a pricing error and Kogan seem to have fixed it.

  • +1

I bought 3 medium but only received 1 code so far. Let’s hope they honour all of us. Some crazy stuff is happening all over the website at the moment

    • +2

All 3 vouchers appear on view order. Thanks Kogan saved over $200 and I have 3 happy family members

  • +1

Looks like the wrong discount was applied all over the site, heaps of phone discounts as well. Everything now on hold and somebody is gunna get a stern talking to!

You don’t want to be “that” guy

  • Damn I had bought this only a couple days ago…

  • Missed it :( if anyone change mind, please pm me. Thanks

  • How did they find out the pricing error

    • +1

Some people started to call to see if they could get refunds on vouchers bought earlier. Also the whole site had half price tv, phones, iPhones etc. I reckon the overwhelming number of orders must have ringed an alarm bell.

  • I managed to place an order and I've received my voucher code. I'm concerned they're going to issue refunds shortly so would it be harder for them to do a refund if I load the recharge onto my account now? I only have 8 days before expiry on my current recharge so no big loss losing a few dollars Cheers

    • +2

They could still potentially cancel all the orders. I can only activate mine at end of February. I suppose it’d be harder to cancel if already applied. I am hoping they don’t cancel at least these mobile vouchers…..

    • +2

I'd recharge now, makes it harder for them. And its a bad look.

      • +1

Ahhha. I’m wondering if I should forfeit the month left on the 3 sims or wait.

        • +4

For the bargain price, I would but that's just me. Unfortunately I have months left on mine. 1 month is about the most I'd forfeit for the risk. But make your own call.

    • Cheers guys I'll just apply it now.

    • Although once you have your activation code I would think you are set I would be inclined to activate (or port) now, if it was indeed a price error.

  • +1

Interesting.. When I go to recharge the offer is showing as "M 365 DAYS - BTL (26/6/18 - 28/2/19)"

    WTF lol

    • Does it mean they gave you an extra month??!

      • +1

Hahaha that's what I thought for a second then I noticed the 19 instead of 20.. But anyway it's all good now, when I check my balance it shows expiry 1 year from now. Fingers crossed it sticks haha

        • same for me, it says 40% XL 365DAY FOR KOGAN
          ATL(16/11/18-28/2/19)
which meaning the plan will expire at the end of next month? the "19" year is suppose to be "20"?
Do I just click next anyway even though it's wrong? I need your help @T_double_U!

          • +1

@brokeman: Hey mate, sorry for the late reply. Yep just press the next button and it'll all come good with the expiry showing 28/01/2020.

            • +1

              @T_double_U: No problem.
Awesome, I will do that now. Thank you for your help!

  • anyone have an extra plan, let me know

    • Same request from me as well :)

      • Let me know too please!

  • Going to wait for the next BOGOF

  • Missed out…my plans expires today…

  • +1

    So fast expired deal??

    • +1

      Price error

  • Looking for a medium deal if anyone stocked up! My plan expired today!

  • +1

    Expired .. already! So disappointed.

My current 365 day plan expires in May so seeking an activation expiry date that will cover that (you lose previous if you renew early). I think it was last February when Kogan Mobile brought out a "2 for 1" deal (Medium only). So we (another OZBr and I) bought 2 medium plans for $299.90 (usual price). Only 6 GB back then but 13 GB now I believe.

Drop me a line if anyone sees that, or similar, offer again please!

Am tempted to switch to the Small 365 day plan as $152.10, but only 3 GB. I usually make use of NBN wifi at home etc.

    • Why are you disappointed? You needed to recharge by 28/02 anyway so it would have not suited you.

      • I see your point but disappointed on missing initial discount before noticing voucher expiry date. Seeking a cheap Kogan recharge for Medium (preferred) in general. That was a great price if someone caught it in time.

Ps. Received an email from Dick Smith earlier, offering same Kogan 365 day plans / prices too, but voucher expiration was also 12:59pm today (28th):

        Small $161.82 3 GB
        Medium $222.65 13 GB
        Large $254.30 20 GB
        X-Large $315.10 40 GB

Only mentioning for price comparison purposes.

Should mention I renewed a Small $152.10 (email "renewal" offer) and Medium (was Large previously) $222.65 in January. Been happy with Kogan Mobile; ported all 3 accounts from Vodafone.

I have a few spare (tri-fit) blank sims if anyone has any need of them (Melb). I used our vouchers for recharging, but they sent spare sims too.

  • +1

Got my voucher code so that's a good sign.
These deals can't just be all mistakes??
    Draw customers in?

  • +1

Thanks OP! Actually, thanks too to Kamoi.
Got the XL for $188 … noice.
My daughters plan doesn’t expire till the end of July, but I’ll happily write off 6 months of her 3gb plan, for the 40gb @ $16 /month.
