      • Hello, it says, Code cannot be used for this order. Also I am unable to get free shipping. Could you help with this? Thanks

        • Hi,

The code is 1 use only, have you previously used this code? Free shipping only applies if you have eBay Plus, Standard shipping is $10.80, and Express is $14.80

  • The price is showing as $480? Can anyone help regarding this? Thanks in advance.

  • Wanted to buy the Pocophone F1 or a Nokia with Android One … but this looks pretty interesting. Not sure if the LG will get Android Pie (and if so it might be the last update).

    • Is there anything good about Pie thats worth upgrading for? I cant see a single thing…I wanted the split screen of 7.0 but 8 and 9 didnt interest me.

      • Honestly no idea (I come from the iphone world and all these versions is pretty confusing). I just like the cleaner settings design in Pie … looks all more like iOS

  • I'm not seeing free delivery showing $8.80 or $12.80 for me.

    Fix title?

  • any other colours available? or just black?

    • Pretty sure we only get the black version in australia, it's the best colour anyway in my opinion.

  • Currently have the huawei nova 3i… PULL THE TRIGGER ON THIS OR NAH…. What are everyones thoughts?? Worth the upgrade??

  • Hmm really tempted. But need a phone with a good camera so not sure if I should just get a S9?

    • +2

      You can't get S9 close to this price… 😎

      • Agreed. That is why i am so tempted, but aside from call and text, the only other thing i use a phone is the camera. So not sure what to do.

        • don't get it. if photo quality is important to you.
but if you don't really care or ZOOM much, but by looking the whole photo on the screen should be fine.
and it is ultra wide angle. S9 is NOT. (this is for other phones but you can see the difference for ultra wide…)
          https://www.phonearena.com/news/Huawei-Mate-20-Pro-this-is-w…

          • @m2000: Wait this is about the LG V30+? Not the Mate 20 Pro lol

      • +3

It depends on what you want from your SIM-only plan. You can get the S9 for $53 per month from Optus (Harvey Norman or student discount) with 30GB data & quota-free netflix / national geographic. This phone is roughly $18 per month (over the course of 24 months), and let's assume you get a sim-only plan for $20 per month - that would result in the S9 "only" being another $20 extra per month. You could probably justify that going down somewhat because the S9 would retain its resale value much more.

  • I have an HSBC Card with good extended warranty.

Will HSBC provide me the extended warranty if I pay for this phone using Paypal but linked to my HSBC Card?

Does HSBC or other Card issuers require that I pay DIRECTLY to ebay bypassing Paypal to Qualify for Extended Warranty

  • Got confirmation - item already shipped :)

  • Does the V30 have the same issues as the V20 with the image burn in on the screen? My V20 has this & nothing I do makes it go away except to turn it off.

  • is this LG screen as bad as the one on the pixel 2 xL?

  • any cheap refurbished ones?

  • Thanks OP, decided to pull. Was swayed by the flock of people desperate for JB stock. Didn't want to jump on that chaos to got it here and hopefully get the TRS back as well when I fly next month… This will take it under $400

Pretty much the only SD835 that you can get for under $400 right? Nothing else come close?

    • +1

You can get an 845 if you get the pocofone, albeit shittier support/no b28/no nfc.

      • Good call, but I can't go back to MIUI after running my Redmi Note 4X. Also couldn't be bothered going down the root and flash route.

That's why I'm running the Mi A1 at the moment which this hopefully should be a decent step up from.

Also looking forward to NFC payments again! I miss that from my Moto X Style days!

    • +1

Nokia 8 has a 835 and has been on OzB for less than 300

      • Oh wow, missed them!

        That's cheap!!!

  • Thanks OP bought one

  • Any suggestions for cases or if it even needs one?

    • +1

I use the Spigen Rugged Armour - pretty slim profile (despite the name) and has saved it from some decent drops.

    • +1

yup agree with GeorgeSr, i also have the Spigen Rugged Armour from https://www.progadgets.com.au/spigen-lg-v30-rugged-armor-215…. Slim profile with nice Matte feel back. I think any of the Spigen cases will do you well, if you don't particularly like the design of the Rugged Armour one.

      • Get these on ebay from the same seller is a few $ cheaper.

      • Hi mate,

Can you still put tempered glass with this Spigen Case? or it won't fit?

        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3D-Curved-Full-Coverage-Tempered…

        • edit: nevermind, found the answer. thanks

          • @babiguling: Mate, don't leave the rest of us hanging - what was the answer?

            • +1

@Naed: haha.. wasnt expecting that someone else is in the same situation as me.
The answer was written on the "tempered glass" page

"Important notice: You can't use any phone case while having these tempered glasses on. These tempered glasses cover edge to edge. Premium grade Tempered glass with 9H scratch resistant surface (almost as hard as a diamnond with highest resistance at 10H)."

              • @babiguling: Thanks, I saw it too but after my comment - :)

                • @Naed: Okay, so which case + screen protector you gonna get at the end?

                  • @babiguling: I'm torn now - my missus had a flip cover for her Galaxy S7 Edge but it was basically useless - dropped her phone and it flipped open and smashed the screen. I want case + screen protector so gunna keep researching - I'll post back on my decision :)

  • Why is this so hot given the price mark of over $400?

    • +11

Unless you're willing to go down the route of no-name chinese phones, you would struggle to find anything comparable at this price point. It's also one (if not the best) phone if you value audio quality.

      • +2

I agree with this. Bought an LG v30 during boxing day sales. This phone has specs very similar to the Google Pixel 2XL (e.g. SD835, 6"POLED) with added wide angle lens, headphone jack, microsd support and wireless charging for half the price.

So unless the Pixel experience is worth the extra ~$500 to you (which you can get with launchers/themes and Gcam mods) this phone is a very good deal.

    • Mainly i think its to do with the launch price of $1199 just over a year ago and now its heavily discounted.

This cannot be good for the old but NEW Android "flagship" market if this trend continues which means that after a year you easily lose 50% or more of the resell value for a used "flagship" Android phone had you bought it at the launch price.

But if you are not reselling the phone then it shouldn't matter all that much.

  • Out of stock when I was about to order

    • +1

      Congrats on the savings!

      I wasn't so lucky…

  • +1

Available again, bought one, thanks OP.

  • Thanks OP - just purchased - seems still in stock!

  • No notch. drops mic

  • +1

ok guys we successfully hammered the shit outta this deal

  • Just tried to buy one but when I hit pay now I got the message that "The seller doesn't have that many left."

  • This phone will be outdated quite quickly. Just don't expect updates ppls

    • +4

I'm upgrading from a Nexus 5 that was still chugging along fine. So I figure this is a solid upgrade from that.

    • +1

      XDA forums my friend.

      • +3

        Not for everyone…

        • Yeah if you wanna void warranty and waste time tinkering with root and custom roms go ahead.

Also needs unofficial way to unlock bootloader

          • @neonlight: Can you, please advise the pros and cons of unlocking bootloader and installing custom roms? Thanks.

    • Although i agree rollout of updates can be slow with LG. Android Pie is expected for the LG V30 in Q2 2019 according to LG Korea's schedule. if you are really wanting the latest android quickly, you can always unlock bootloader and install custom roms.

      • osakaboi, Can you, please advise the pros and cons of unlocking bootloader and installing custom roms? Thanks.

      • can you please advice what is Locked bootloader and what are the pros and cons of unofficially unlocking it AND and the pros and cons of installing custom roms? Thanks.

  • But Harvey said this price loses them money and can't price match it..

Does the PIXIES code end tonight? T&C says they will pull it at their discretion.

    • +3

Harvey says a lot of things from his private helicopter. Everyone here is too small for him to spot

  • back on amazon and ebay at 7:30pm BNE time…

    edit: gooooone from ebay @ 7:36 :)

  • Snagged one cheers

  • Got my order shipped and an email about estimated delivery already. That was quick for a busy day I think.

  • Selling at 2 per minute at the moment!

  • I got one, too! Thanks OP.

  • No stock left !

  • +6

Between this deal and the jbhifi I think every second Ozbargainer has this phone now and why not it might not be the best phone on the market but for the price you are paying nothing is going to come close.

    • Not me. I boycott this brand since G4 bootloop

  • And sold out again just when I was about to buy it.nit available in Amazon too

  • Does anyone know the difference between these 2 links???

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LG-V30-Plus-H930DS-Dual-Sim-4G-3…

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/142862795242

I bought 1 from the 2nd link, it seems all from the same seller.

    • Second offers ‘Raspberry’ colour, first one is black only.

  • +2

I was trying to stick with my current phone (Sony Xperia Z3) until it reaches >4 years old. But didn't make it now thanks to this deal, well done OP.

    • How many years did your reach?

      • About 3 years 9 months. Still working just fine too with good battery life, only the software is getting a bit out of date.

  • +1

By next week, you can easily spot who is in the OZB cult.

  • I was very tempted as such good price, 2 things stopped me, I bought the Pixel 2XL from JB's 8months ago, and 5G phones will be coming in the next year, I expect wait until 2020 for my next phone. Enjoy guys

  • I recall the same thing was happening with LG G4 couple years ago. Whoever bought it, is ozbargain cult.then massive bootloop outbreaks, quite dramatic and everyone ask what to do with warranty as most bought grey imports

    • +2

Yep, but luckily for me, I bought one with a local warranty (from Mobileciti funnily enough). It's still going strong and I'm literally using it right now to post this comment. :)

    • Wasn't a big deal, contacted ebay seller and they got it out to get fixed, still using it today. It's annoying, but if you have the patience, no biggie.

      • Yeah I sent it back to QD. They replaced the motherboard but covered the infrared sensor hole. So now I can't use infra red on it very annoying.

  • Outta stock? Need a replacement for my poor old Galaxy C9 Pro who suffered a serious fall and shattered all over :(

    • Hi s1Lence,

A deal on the LG V30+ is back, at a slightly higher price this time, feel free to check it out. Thank you

  • Now I need to case a case…. not many out there, and LG doesn't have a genuine one. What do you guys use?

    • I got one selicon $3ish on ebay

    • Uglish but tough case. https://www.supcase.com/lg-v30-unicorn-beetle-pro-full-body-… Had mine over a year and has saved me time and time again from accidental drops including a few 1.5m high drop onto concrete. The built in screen is plasticy but again has saved me from keys in pocket etc etc.before that i had a few tough glass which easily broke.

One thing i will say….the rear camera aint that protected. Cover it with some makeshift flat plastic cutout from icecream bucket or something…. coz once the cover lens cracks which mine has there will never be another good replacement glass lens. Ive tried 4 different types and the photos doesnt look as clear.
