Have some internal intel that prices on all easter products will be 50% off from monday. This is confirmed for the Narellan store but I assume it would be most stores as they all tend to all be run the same.

hmm thought it would be a bit more than 50% actually. 50% will probably make it to the same price as buying blocks of chocolate though so if you are one of those weird people that think easter eggs/bunnies taste better then get on this lol

    Cadbury Creme Egg!

    • +3

My local Sweet As store was selling boxes of 48 Cadbury Creme eggs for $19.95. Same with the Caramello ones. Best before date June this year.

We didn't buy them because we didn't want to die by chocolate and sugar.

      • thats not a bad price! tempting. But they get sickly sweet and I don't want to get fat..

  • I hope they have the kinder bunnies!

  • +1

Cool. Stock up for next year.

    • +4

You'll find more often than not that Easter eggs/bunnies are very close to the expiry date after Easter (June-September).

      • In other words they use rubbish chocolate for Easter Eggs, so not a fan, give me a block of chocolate anyday!

        • More a case of them probably being made 6 to 9 months ago.

      uuhhh…Gerry Harvey?
      hhahahahaha

  • Was at Woolworths earlier today (Lakes Entrance). Easter Eggs 50% off.

    • Your local Woolworths is open today? Wow.

      • Shopping centres in "tourist" areas are allowed to trade when no one else is (eg. Boxing day and Easter Sunday).

        • Not in Victoria, everything is pretty much open. Less Christian influence.. win, win!

      • -2

Everything is open in Melbourne today.

  • Pretty much next to no eggs at big w Qv and very little next door at woolies, not worth the tripn unless your going by for other things

    • +2

My local Woolies (Springwood) has about 20 grand worth of eggs left or something like that.

  • Target had 50% off today but not much left

    • +2

Your local Target is open today? Wow.

      • every Sunday (halfish day) as it's a tourist area

It's funny went into a Coles this morning (not too early), and their eggs were all still Full Price. hmmm missed the boat one thinks!

Cadbury actually make Easter Eggs for 11 months of the year, that is why a lot of them are close to best before as they may have been made nearly a year ago.

    • +1

same at the Coles that I went too! People were still buying them though!

  • +1

Easter Eggs are so overpriced, that you might as well buy a block of choccie on special. Well, except for Cadbury Creme Eggs which have no equivalent.

    • Oh well, the Lindt creme eggs are much better imho.

      • never seen them

  • big w appears and most other stores open from 1-5pm on monday

  • +1

aren't they always 50% off on Easter Monday?

Not a 'deal' in my book If everyone will be doing it

    • +2

Watch out, not allowed to say anything negative here otherwise the linch mob will be on you. LOL :P

      • +1

        The LINCH mob?

More like the INCH mob! Considering most people would probably gain an inch or two with the amount of chocolate they've been eating!

Irony? If people actually ate REAL eggs for easter, they would be alot better off healthwise!

  • bastards haven't marked down at our store yet :(

  • -1

Didn't see any markdown on Easter eggs at the Earlville (Cairns) store this arvo.

  • +2

Everything is closed on the Gold Coast and we're supposed to be one of the biggest tourist places in QLD. Annoying.

    • +3

No one is going to Qld. With the strength of the AUD that is the last place I would go and holiday. So many better places in the Pacific and Asia that offer better value for money. The Gold Coast has had it's hey day. With out the theme parks tourists would have no reason to go.

      • +1

lol I see. Because you wouldn't go there, nobody else will want to either? Wow what a trend setter you are.

I will let the QLD Tourism Commission to pack it up.

      • +2

well judging by the fact that practically all hotels, motels, and apartments are booked out on the gold coast (Surfers), I can safely say that there are still people going to the goldie.

I can also assure you there were no vacancies to be found between main beach and broadbeach for Friday and Saturday.

Doesn't anyone else find it weird that Easter products must be associated with chocolates?

  • -3

50% off? From Monday only? That's terrible. Kmart had 75% average off from 10pm on Wednesday. At Kmart at Campbellfield I got creme eggs for 50c, cadbury bunnys for $1.50, etc. There have also been factory direct centres all over all major cities for the weeks leading up to easter. This stuff will still be overpriced at 50% off.

(ps it's not internal intel - it's common knowledge of a common practice)

    • doh are you for real! on weds it was on sale grrrr i always miss out on the sales from kmart! :(

    • 6 negs? Apparently people like wasting their money.

      • No idea why people keep negging you. I keep seeing your comments hidden being a wall of negs.

        • +2

          It's because I'm awesome. :)

        • rofl

  • I hope they are discounting the fluffy bunny toys.

Big W opens in a few minutes.

  • easter products or easter eggs/chocolate?
