  • Says 64GB not 128GB.

    • Thanks, I was grabbing specs from the LG website and evidently copied that too.

    • Nope I stand corrected. Rep notified that it is in fact 128GB and their listing has now been updated :)

  • I don't think I'd pay $200 to "upgrade" from my V30+ to this, let alone the $500+ difference between the two.

  • Nothing against the deal but after seeing the price drops, this feels exorbitant.

What happened to the lg never again mentality after they screwed G4 owners with bootloop and refused to admit it?

    • It was just a phase like all other boycotts.

    • They started making decent phones that dont bootloop

      • But just didn't bother updating them. Prob left one programmer to do the updates and shifted everyone else to the next phone. But then again it seems like Samsung prob do that too lol but yet I keep buying both brands…

        • Samsung gives 2 major updates per phone.

          • @lostn: Which is pretty poor considering how much you spend on a new note 9. As much as I don't like the iPhone, at least Apple does update as many models down as they can for quite a decent length of time and I'm guessing they all get updates at the same time too???

            • @Sammyboy: Apple do support older devices longer. Except they don't make it optional. New updates usually slow down your phone, and the update automatically gets downloaded and forced on you. You can cancel the update, but it will prompt you again and again until you do.

Supposedly iOS 12 is really good on old devices though, which is a new change. It definitely wasn't always like that.

              • @lostn: I would rather have security patches and a slow phone over no updates at all. Has Samsung ever gone past past 2 years of updates for their flagship phones? Have an s9+ now. Last one I had was S4!

                • @Sammyboy: They continue giving you security patches, just not major Android releases.

I still get security patches for my S6 (2015).

Your S9+ will get Android 10 as its last major Android update. But it will continue getting security updates for years after that.

I would rather have fast phone with security updates. By all means it's a good thing to offer major updates for old phones, but make them optional. But optional is not a word in Apple's playbook.

There have been hacks that you can use to block the update like blocking some XML file or using a VPN that blocks Apple's update server. But it has never worked for me. Apple have found ways around it and it's a constant arms race.

        • Luckily there is a devoted team of developers who have got LineageOS running on the V30 with almost all of the features working perfectly. Some even better such as the pixel Gcam app for the camera.

  • Note 9 can be had around this price

  • ffs….just wait a few months…

That's the problem LG faces with their V series (and Pixel and Note any other SD phone that releases late in the year). Releases too late in the year, is more expensive than S9/S9+ and its specs are about to be superceded by a phone that will be around the same price.
