              @asa79: You are correct - it's not stated there.. But it's stated in many of the reviews of the device on other sites, etc. There appear to be multiple versions but the 'MeCool M8S Pro L' does run Android TV 7.1.2 and supports 4k Youtube and Netflix HD - It's also rooted so apps can be installed from Aptoide or other stores rather than the play store. Firmware has also been updated as of recent which is a good sign…

                @evanssm2jp: So description doesn't say it but some reviews get confused so you think it is. Hopefully you will refund anyone on here taking your advise to buys it thinking it is and get disappointed. As they can return it saying it's not Android TV when the description says no. Even if it was its only 7.1 every brand is slowly moving to 8 so won't be too long till some Android TV apps require 8 as a requirement

              There a few different itterations of the mecool m8s pro however so I can see how one can get confused with which has android tv and which one doesn't.

                @xoom: Thanks for confirming - looks like the link I shared https://www.aliexpress.com/item/MECOOL-M8S-PRO-L-TV-BOX-Andr… is a good price - assuming they send the correct model - went with US plug as voltage appears to be 100-240 an all psu's.

                @xoom: Could you please tell if the YouTube app is an android tv app and not a mobile app. I have h96 mini and the YouTube app is like a mobile app and has lot of adds. On my sony android tv ,YouTube app works fine as the adds show up only at the beginning of the video but don't bother you every couple of minutes like it does on the mobile version…

                  @koolchamp81: When i was using it. The ads are at the beginning. However you get uploaders that put ads in the middle also but not always.

                    @xoom: I haven't seen any add on YouTube via on my Android tv boxes or Sony tv. Are you sure you are running the correct software. Or correct version of YouTube?

                      @asa79: YouTube on my sony android tv is playing fine but only on my h96 mini TV box , the YouTube app has lot of apps pop up every couple of minutes and I can't operate it through its remote, I need a mouse for typing and selecting videos on YouTube. That's why I am asking if you are using Mecool 8s pro L, is there any such issue?

          @asa79: Yes it is. The Mecool M8S PRO L is running Android TV. One of the few brands that use it.
