    Good offer. Good company.
I'm with Alinta already and they have good customer service.
Rang twice for my late bills and they honour the discounted price for pay on time.

    • Wow. What did you say to them to get that?

      • +1

Just speak to them politely and blamed your daughter for not paying bills on time or you have lots of birthdays this month lol. Generally they will ask you to set up direct debit but just kindly refused it. Lol.

  • +6

That’s a lot of personal data to provide Alinta and probably 100 other data miners!

  • cannot Get a $25 Woolworth WISH eGift card when you compare your energy bills with Alinta Energy’s offer

forcing me to change to alinta
    money wasted

    • +3

It is stated on the fine print clearly that you will receive the Woolworths eGift card within 7-10 business days after you upload your bill details online. Please allow some time to receive a confirmation. Keep in mind the offer is not available in Western Australia, ACT, NT or Tasmania.

You have a choice to switch to Alinta - you are not being forced! If you do decide to switch and sign up to electricity, you will get an additional $50 WISH gift card. If you sign up for both electricity & gas, you will receive an additional $75 WISH gift card.

      • actually I do want to switch, can I still use the code to switch in a month time and get the extra $25 gift card etc?

        • Yes, by simply uploading your current energy bill and submitting, you will be eligible to the $25 WISH eGIFT card.

    • Hi uccoffee,

      Thank You for your feedback.

Can you please advise the issue you are facing? If you meet the terms of the offer you are eligible to get the $25 eWish Gift card even if you don’t switch.

      Thanks Again

  • Makes you submit email address and mobile number - proceeds to offer quote - no option to exit or claim gift card?
Just back to results or apply now?

    • The terms and conditions say:

      • You will receive the $25 Woolworths WISH
eGift Card by email within 7-10 business days
once you have entered your last quarterly
electricity bill details plus uploaded a copy of
      this same bill.

So I am hoping that as long as I did that, it doesn't matter that I just closed the window after it gave me the quote.

  • entered all the details;
just got No _____ Plan Found

    • Maybe due to this… Offer not available in Western Australia, ACT, NT or Tasmania
(Put in bold to remind others😉)

  • above states you will receive and email which I never did.

    have contacted them here;
    https://www.econnex.com.au/contact/

    • But it says the email will arrive within 7-10 business days

      • was referring to "You will receive email confirmation from econnex once you have successfully completed the process of comparing your electricity only &/or combined electricity & gas bills"

you get to the second last step, and then nothing. (last step being actually switching)
don't know if its worked or something went wrong.

      • EDIT: the confirmation text I received actually said it would arrive in 7-14 business days

    • Oh hang on, do you mean you didn't receive the confirmation email? I haven't received a confirmation email either.

    • +2

      I received a confirmation text

      • Confirmation of gift card?

        • A confirmation that I submitted details and that a gift card will be emailed in 7-10 business days

      • Great! People just need to be a bit patient. The eGift card will also be emailed out in the timelines as specified above

        • Navman1, why didn't I get any options on the last step?
just got No _____ Plan Found for both gas/electricity.

          • @thydzik: Your profile shows you are in Perth.
Offer not available in Western Australia, ACT, NT or Tasmania
Shown at end of Deal Description Highlights above & also listed under Highlights in the Groupon offer it is copied from.

Deal Title has locations available listed: (QLD, VIC, NSW, SA).

Both have been in the Deal from the start. Always best to read a Deal before buying! (I waited until any issues were worked out by others😉)

So no WA. Probably explains why No _____ Plan Found for both gas/electricity.

Suggest ask Groupon for a refund.

$25 WISH eGift Card When You Compare Your Energy Bills Sell Your Personal data to The Alinta Energy for $5 @ Groupon

    • +11

Very good price. I sell my information to google rewards for a few cents. This is a gold mine.

  • 🙄 I have actually been meaning to change to Alinta energy so attempted to do so with this offer. Have tried 4 times, gets stuck on loading each time, reload brings you back to the beginning.. as in right back to the beginning of the comparison. Shit website.

  • Any benefit for existing customers?

  • if you dont hAVE a powerbill to upload yet or are moving can you still apply for this promo?

    • +1

      Yes
"If you are a new energy user and are moving into a new property please enter your move in date instead of entering in your bill details"

  • +1

Waited until any issues were ironed out before using the $4.50 code bought last night.

    Submitted bill & details @9am.
Received confirmation SMS from CIMET @2pm

Thanks for comparing your energy plan by uploading your bill via Groupon. If you are eligible, you will receive a $25 eWish gift card which will be sent to your email in 7-10 working days. … T&C Apply^

Alinta shows as $4/mth cheaper over Summer (higher electricity use) but would be dearer the rest of the year. Am with Origin in Qld on 21% off electricity & supply charges, against 28% off electricity with Alinta. So I'm not changing.

    • How did you manage to get 21% off electricity & supply charges with Origin?

      • +1

Got it originally through the deal here by ringing & asking, for 1 year. Rang to extend for another year.
But I think it is no longer offered as a plan for new customers.

        • Thanks champ :)

  • No confirmation email or text after uploading my gas and electricity bills just an options to VIEW PLAN or APPLY NOW.

Here's hoping I get the $25 gift card after just viewing the plan and closing the browser window beforehand. They've got my email and mobile number, so I think i've done everything I was supposed to.

    • Did you end up getting confirmation?

      • +1

Yep, eventually got an SMS text message around 1am.

        • More than 24 hours now with no confirmation for me :-/

          • @ely: Same here

            • @iSim0n: Confirmation has finally come through.

              • @ely: Confirmation came through… but no give card, I noticed today. Not really sure where to chase them up about this.

    • Code finished

  • Received confirmation email on 16th Feb, but still didn't receive gift card.

  • Did anyone receive their $25 gift card? Mine hasn't arrived yet.

  • T&C said: Allow 7-10 business days to receive your $25 Woolworths WISH eGift Card by email

Assuming business day means Mon-Fri, and taking up the offer on 14 Feb, by my reckoning the eGift card should arrive by 25-28 Feb

So for those who took up the offer on 14 Feb, they have till Thursday 28 Feb to send the eGift cards.

    • Even though the T&C said it would take 7-10 working days, the confirmation text I received said it would take 7-14 working days. I took up the offer on 14 Feb, so I am allowing until 6 March (assuming my calculations are correct).

      • I also took up the offer on 14 Feb. My confirmation text said 7-10 working days.

        • Really? I wonder why mine says 7-14 days? Maybe mine is just a typo.

          • @wizzy: Really.

The lower end of the range number is irrelevant.

I suppose 10 working days = 14 calendar days if a week comprises 5 working days and 2 non-working days (though many people do work on Sat and/or Sun)

            • @davedave: The T&C say 7-10, your confirmation says 7-10, so I'm hoping mine was a typo. I'd like to use it this weekend on the grocery shopping if I can.

      • SMS received on 15th posted above
$25 eWish gift card which will be sent to your email in 7-10 working days.

        Should arrive soon.

        • Did it arrive? Mine never came through, although I got the confirmation.

@INFIDEL: And indeed, on review, it was in my spam folder (received yesterday) - thanks!

I wonder if they deliberately made it look spammy to save on redemptions…

              • @ely: They pay for the eGift card - even if we don't use it.

It's a bulk email out - so seems like spam to gmail etc. That's why I put it in my comment as others would have the same issue.

                • @INFIDEL: I assume that's probably the case, but it's not necessarily so - it could easily be implemented in such a way that they're only charged when someone actually claims it. Bulk email doesn't necessarily look spammy to Gmail either, spam detection is a complicated issue. Most likely it looks spammy to Gmail because Econnex annoys users with spammy emails and users have reported them as spam, causing their legit ones to also get marked as spam.

I don't think the "deliberately looking spammy" theory is likely though, just a vague possibility :D Whoever my negger was above is lacking a sense of humour!

I did come back to note that, prior to me finding the their email lurking in my spam, I sent an email off complaining that it hadn't come through… and just this morning I received a second $25 gift card (and not in spam, after I marked their last one not spam). Can't complain I guess.

                  • @ely: Gift cards:
Duplicate eGift Cards were sent by mistake

Just as we can buy 1 or more discount eGift Cards, promoters buy bulk amounts at much better discount.
It's up to the user to use the credit.
Refunding the cost of eGift Cards that weren't used by the recipient - to the promoter, would have privacy, legal, & other serious issues. It is very unlikely.
The recipient has the right to use the credit, not the promoter. If credit is not used by any expiration date - it's Woolies.

Spam: Why is this message in spam? It is similar to messages that were identified as spam in the past.

A lot of bulk email spam I receive looks like a "company" offering a discount / money / gift card or voucher - for opening a link.

So the bulk email from a company I've never dealt with by email (Econnex) containing a link to a "$25 eGift card" looked much the same as usual spam.

The neg: Checked - the neg wasn't from me. I've got a sense of humour. Although some may disagree😉

                    • @INFIDEL: Ah, right, sad (but very reasonable) about the second GC.

Regarding charging for unused gift cards, yeah, I agree that seems like a likely outcome, but it's not a required one. As a software developer, I can easily envisage a system that provisions a fixed number of gift cards, but only issues them on demand when users actually go to redeem them, and then finally bills the payer at the discounted rate depending on the number that are actually redeemed.

Possible? Yes. Probable? Nah, too complex, I'm sure they just buy them in bulk. However you can't tell from the outside what the actual implementation and billing model here really is. WW could implement such a system to encourage bulk purchases, as it lowers the risk to the bulk purchaser (they only pay for cards that people actually bother to redeem).

Regarding spam, yeah, it's a complicated topic. Your personal history of communication is almost certainly irrelevant though, until you either mark one of their emails explicitly as spam or not spam, and then gmail takes that into account heavily for you (and to a very small degree for everyone else) - hence, now that I've marked one as not spam, the next one they sent me was not indicated as spam for me (but probably still for everyone else).

  • Has anyone received gifts cards yet?

    • No, not me

    • Not me…

    • @Navman1 assured us that the eGift card will be emailed out in the timelines as specified, which for those who took up the offer on 14 Feb means by today. So just have a little patience - I am sure the e-gift cards will turn up today.

Otherwise we have a cause of complaint to Groupon tomorrow.

    • +1

Econnex actually just phoned me. They told me that the gift card should have been emailed to me on Monday. I have not received it though. They said they would investigate and get back to me.

UPDATE: They phoned back and told me they were mistaken about it having been emailed to me already. It has been processed and approved on their end and they have sent my details to the team who will email it. They said it would take 48 hours.

      • Still no egift cards..however i Got the text message on 14th feb saying it will be sent on the email used to sign up within 7-10 working days.

Update: got an email saying they had a system glitch and GC will be sent within 24 hours.

Check spam folder for the email

        • Still no GC. SMS confirming it would be sent was on the 19th of Feb. @Navman1, what's the complaints process?

  • This is bs. Did they really expect people to go through all that and not get some testy people chasing them up?
    dogey as.

    • Agree. Still haven't got mine.
      Poor

  • Nada… seems like a shonky operation. Like everyone else here i think, didn't even get a confirmation email just a text which is concerning and says something abt their systrms

    • Same here… still nothing via email. Got the text confirmation a day after doing the comparison, but nothing else has come through…

      • Finally received the gift card on 2/3 around 7:45pm.

  • We should contact / inform to Groupon, if we didn't receive it by today afternoon.

  • Hopefully they will come through today, I won't be surprised if it's an extra business day or two.

  • I actually received a call from EConnex yesterday from 02 6442 4917. The caller was nice enough and confirmed that he had received my details from the bill compare offer and informed me that he could provide me with an even better deal. I didn't need to confirm any personal details and he confirmed the rates I currently had with Energy Australia and then proceeded to offer me the standard Alinta deal (which I had already compared using the Econnex/Group offer - and was actually a plan I had been on previously with Alinta). After I reminded him that I have a much better feed in with Energy Australia, he acknowledged that and confirmed they couldn't do any better (bill with Alinta would have been $135, most recent bill with Energy Australia was $91).

I'm not sure what's going on - but I clearly completed the comparison on the website so why call to "compare" again and offer the same thing?

He raised the gift card with me (I didn't ask) and checked-in if I had received it (I haven't). He said I should get it sometime next week.

  • +2

Please accept our apologies for the delay in sending you the Woolworths Gift Card. We have experienced a system glitch.

We hope to resolve this issue soon and send you the $25 eWISH Gift Card within the next 24hours.

    Thank you for your consideration.

    • Was just about to call and ask. Thanks for the update.

    • You have had 2 weeks to get gift cards.
Don't really see how that is acceptable.
      System glitch..
So you waited to the last day to send the gift card then claim there is a glitch?

      • -6

Ease up mate…it's just a 25 gc. You'll get it.

        • Thanks for your thoughts

  • Just received an email from Ecconex apologising for the glitch and promising to resolve asap. Stay tuned.
