With a number of high profile detentions lately, I will not travel to China.

      I'm sure they'll miss you.

What do the *'s and ^ mean? What T&Cs are hiding behind them?

    • $899* Per Person (in original title)

China is beautiful, no doubt, however, to see the beautiful bits one should travel to the holiday destinations that the Chinese prefer in the provinces of Yunnan, Sichuan, Hainan etc., destinations like Guilin/Yangshuo (Guangxi province), Dali, Lijiang, Shangri La, (Yunnan Province), Zhangjiajie etc.
I didn't particularly like Beijing, SHanghai etc.

    • +1

My Chinese friends don't like Beijing and Shanghai too, XD
I've been to Guangzhou for a week, the food there is absolutely amazing..

  • +3

How often is it advisable to change your face mask?

  • For most dates it's $1299, seen it way cheaper than that, also this business of naming a hotel and then adding or equivalent?,
never been on one of these but I would like to know each and every hotel, all excursions that are included, and ones that you pay extra for, Tipping?, all other outages, I'd love to visit china but with a deal that does not have so many question marks embedded.

  • +1

Quite a few important things to see/do are optional inclusions, e.g. Forbidden city tour, Jin Mao observation deck (Shanghai) etc. Also why the $100 compulsory tipping? Tipping is not compulsory in China, in fact, some Chinese may be offended by your tipping them.

    • +3

I don't think anyone in China nowadays will be offended by tips.

      • Nowadays, as in August 2018 which is when I was last there.

  • +3

Also please read the itenary. I was thinking about this but there a few days where they just bring you to factories to try and sell you things which is half a day / three quarters of a day as a right off.

  • +3

Be aware that the below attractions sound like they are shopping attractions where they do a cultural presentation and then offer to sell you what they've presented. Might not be everyone's cup of tea but you get what you pay for as this is how they make the tour so cheap.

    • skilled artisans at work at a cloisonne factory
    • Chinese Herbal Medicine Institute
    • largest freshwater pearl exhibitions in the country
    • silk spinning mill
    • tea-tasting at the Dragon Well Tea Plantation
    • +2

You forgot about jade or precious stone factories.
