Blaccdong needs to troll another site.
This is a bargain, thanks OP for sharing the bargain

Good to see that you only post deals for essential items.

How could anyone live without a Cocoon Voyager Quadcopter FPV Drone?

      • +4

how about the $500 RM Williams boots you previously posted.
        hypocrite

  • being waiting for the absloute! good find op, thx a lot

  • Time to buy. Been waiting for this. The dock is a bonus.

  • +2

does anyone know if the new model will be release soon? as V10 was released in March 18 and they are doing sales now…..

    • Probably very soon for the v12 and it's the reason why they're selling this one I imagine.

  • +1

Damn it literally just bought the xiaomi Dreame 50 mins ago… There hasn't been a good V10 absolute deal for ages :(

    • I feel your pain

      • I nearly bought the dreame 12 hours ago. Just didn't like the bin style .

    • +3

CodeXD, You were lucky. You Just saved $430.30. The Dreame V9 is a Great machine. You wont be disappointed.

    • Xiaomi much cheaper and great for what you pay for. Dyson overpriced

      • The question about Dyson, for that amount of money you have to fork out, how long can you use their sticks with their short life battery?

        • I would say Max 3 years. My V6 already got bad battery after 2.5 years out of warranty. New battery cost more than $120 not worth it.

          • @neonlight: V6 and v10 have completely different batteries, not even comparable.

This is one of the many reasons the v10 is more expensive.

If you call up Dyson they will tell you the v6 is good for 3 years max, the v10 will last up to 15 years apparently

            • @TEER3X: 15 years is bullcrap. There are no batteries that would last that long with constant recharge.

I would think its the same. Dyson is a lot of crap on 15 years promise.

Normal power plug vaccums exist for a reason. Cordless can never replace them. And dyson thinks they got the cordless market and abolish all power fed ones

              • @neonlight: maybe, but the larger capacity battery means less times you charge it, so it would last longer. 15 years is a stretch, but lots of people have said when they call dyson to replace their v6 batteries they are informed those batteries last up to 2 years and the v10 lasts much longer, to a point where the v10 becomes cheaper to own in the long run

                • @TEER3X: In the long run the brushes and everything else will just need replacement.

As for battery on the V6 was told 2 years so 3rd year isn't covered.

Unless Dyson promise to replace the battery up to 15 years. I wouldn't buy into their marketing scheme.

They are gonna say its a consumable part not covered

          • @neonlight: Sorry, it was wrongly worded, I mean how long can you use it per charge?

        • Been using the V6 for 5+ yrs still going stronger.

    • Where's the best place to buy?

  • Mamak what do you reckon?

    • +1

As far as $1000 DustBusters to this is probably one of the better ones.

  • +5

I initially read it as $199 and nearly had a heart attack

      • +6

        Have you used one before?

I have a v6 and wouldn’t mind paying this for the v10. It’s basically the best thing in the portable vacuuming world.

  • +1

I'm confused about these - they don't have a replaceable battery. I know it's meant to last years, but they haven't been out that long so who knows..? I'm worried it'll last the life of the warranty and that's it :(

    • There will be a way. CZ there are replacements battery already.

      • ebay?

        • +2

Well this product is still in it's warranty period so no battery's as of yet. But some people have gotten faulty battery and had it replaced by Dyson. If that makes sense

    • For what it's worth, a friend of mine got the v8 for over 2 years now, only charges it when it's completely empty, and reckons it might be lasting longer than it did brand new, either that or she's just cleaning her rooms more quickly.

      • +16

Completely discharging lithium batteries (which are most modern batteries) is actually bad for them, they'd much rather have lots of small discharges than less deep discharges.

It's an old hangover that a lot of people still obviously believe from the nickel metal hydride batteries of 10-20 years ago.

        • +2

There's usually smarts in the device to prevent that from happening anyway, otherwise the return rate would be much higher. So even though the device may seem flat, not flat enough to damage the lipo cells.

        • +1

It's impossible to completely discharge a good lithium battery as they will have a protection circuit that will provide over-discharge protection.

        • Most of what I can find online agree with you.
But I'm no battery expert and I can't argue the fact that it does seem to be covering more surface area now than when I tried it a couple years ago. I'm pretty sure it was fully charged both times I tried it.

Ps. Not saying in any way that everyone should charge their battery this way, it's just one example from one friend on one device.

          • +1

@Trung: I've never had a LiPo increase with capacity over time, Best case they lose about 4% per year and thats if you keep the battery ~20celcius @ 3.8v nominal. I'd say its placebo effect.

            • @BargainKen: Agreed. It makes no sense that a battery could increase in capacity. It must be placebo. Maybe I walked faster today, hence covered more surface area.

Ps. Thanks to this discussion. My house is nice and clean.

Harvey Normal rep told me a lot of these Dyson units come back after 3rd-4th year for battery issues. Not sure if it was just a ploy to onsell extended warranty but yeah wouldn't be surprised as they don't have batteries you can replace yourself, like say a remote control.

      • +1

Who would go back to the store after 4 years?

        • +1

People that buy from Hardly Normal (as a first choice)?

      • I’m pretty sure the nickel battery in the v10 is expected to last 15 years

      • +1

Ploy I think. But by that time they want you to buy a new unit anyway so extended warranty doesn't mean much. The sales guy just want you to pay extended warranty for nothing.

I got conn'ed into when I bought a fridge extended warranty to 5 years. guess what 7 years and still fine.

No batteries in this case though.

Most extended warranties do not cover consumable parts like battery. Because for sure capacity will deteriorate over time.

Even when you buy a car, apparently the stock battery only 1 year.

    • +1

Every cordless dyson have ever made has has a replaceable battery. I don't know where people get this idea from…

      • All the reviews I've read so far say that the V10 model doesn't have a removable battery?

        • +3

          https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=U4aoV3LVDXY

All you need is a screwdriver and you can replace the battery in about 2 minutes.

          • @DYEL: Awesome, thank you. I haven't done a huge amount of research into it all, I just remembered reading some of the early reviews on the V10 saying they changed the design and made the battery non replaceable, and that Dyson said the battery should last 15 years (yeah right!). That's what's scared me off them - I don't like "planned obsolescence" and there should be spare parts available :)

      • Replaceable vs removable

      • Yes, you can replace the battery, I have done it, but quite fiddly for many. I wished they had removable battery, that would allow you to have a spare one already charged. Otherwise I find Dyson weakness is their battery that does not last long.

    • I know it's meant to last years,

With a V6, i got 2y 4m. dyson sells the battery for $85. Bought it from eBay instead ($30).

      • +1

Frankly, $85 every two years for an official battery is ok! Usually it's $200+ for other devices which is not ok

        • What I didn’t like was that dyson said no warranty for the battery. If i am not going to get any warranty then i go for the cheaper one. So far it is working like the official one

  • Thanks OP!

  • purchased, been waiting for a while on this one! Thanks OP!

  • Hmmm.. been using the DC59 for a number of years now. Tempted to upgrade to this and give the DC59 to family, but… $750 is a lot still though - must resist !!!

  • Thanks OP!! That’s a great deal!

  • +1

Still no Torque drive cleaner head for the Australian model.

  • getting an error screen now after two failed credit card transaction..
Coupon code "UPFWAL" is not valid.

    • Same here… won’t work

      • actually tried on Internet Explorer and pay by PayPal works!
        Thanks OP

        • Yeah, seems to only work with PayPal. Failed on other debit/credit cards.

          Thanks guys!

          • +1

@Graffin: @kenneth88 , How are you adding the code after selecting paypal?

I've only seen the 'Please enter promotional code here:' on the first 'basket' page.

            • @JohnoAU: I applied the code before submitting payment… two credit card attempts declined by the Dyson website… tried the third time using ie (to get the code working) and paid via PayPal.
I guess the code is no longer working now from what I have heard… was using Chorme and the code didn’t work last night after the 1st try

            • @JohnoAU: Like kenneth88, I added the code before selecting the payment method and went with the guest checkout after all of the failed attempts.

It's possible that the code no-longer works, or you could try using a different browser/clearing your cache or ordering it on your mobile phone (I used Firefox on my iPhone, but don't log into your My Dyson account or create an account as that also made the code invalid for me).

    • worked for me on chrome about 10 mins ago!

  • Cheers OP! Great deal ordered already!

  • +1

Been waiting for a decent deal on the V10 Absolute+, though still annoyed my alarm didn't go off for the eBay $599 sale.

    • When was that, that's very good price

    • Now I know what's the lowest, guess I'll just hold up for that price to come out again then ..

      • +4

        1) was extremely limited stock
        2) deal has not recurred since june of last year
        3) did not include the bonus dok supposedly worth $199

        • +1

Yeah and eBay were pushing their brand new eBay plus service so would have subsided the price, it's not going to get that low again untill it's superseded I would say with very high confidence. Even this price of $749 is very rare.

      • Not suggesting that is a realistic price to expect/wait for.

    • It was 10AM.

      You a late riser?

      • It's only 10am AEST..

        1. It was 10AEST, that isn’t 10AM everywhere in Australia.
        2. An alarm doesn’t necessary mean wake up, it can be a reminder to do something, like buy a vacuum cleaner.
  • Been waiting, thanks OP!

  • +1

Awesome! I just bought two, one for myself and one for a friend. (Separate transactions, as the free dock and the discount only seem to apply to one item in the cart at a time…)

  • Note that this code seems to also work for the V10 Animal, though I did not complete the transaction with the V10 Animal in the basket so I can't 100% confirm this…

    • Can confirm code works for V10 Animal for $674.25. Happy enough for it mainly so I can swap out the torque drive cleaner head from the previous Amazon US deal which isn't used much (bought the soft roller head separately) and gift the dock on as well.

  • Couldn’t resist, thanks

  • Been waiting for over 6 months for this. Thanks OP!

  • +1

Have the v6 and v8, v8 was far superior and the v10 is supposed to be better again. v8 goes to holiday home to replace useless v6, v10 remains at home. My wife is going TO KILL ME until just after she uses the v10. ;^)

    • I've had v8 and v10, v10 is much better unless you're all hard floors in which case no big deal

  • +1

    Awesome deal !
My v6 is still going strong after 5+years.
    Must resist must resist.
Oh well gave in… this will keep the missus happy at least.

  • Are there any battery issues? I read pretty bad reviews on good guys for this product

    • +1

Over 6 months in and haven’t experienced any issues. We only charge it once it gets close to empty and use the lowest suction setting, we can vacuum our entire apartment at least 4 times before needing to recharge.

  • +1

Appears to be sold out :(

    • Yes, all gone :-(

      • Code applies to V10 animal as well. If interested

        • Do you put the code before payment coz it’s saying code not valid

          • @fatming: It's gone now. They must have fixed it out

  • Great find OP.
