You would be mad to buy this now with S10 less than 24 hours away from being officially unveiled.

They don’t start giving out s9 for free after that. I would pay with price protected credit card and claim the difference

      • which cc offers that?

Also, should be noted the S10 may not be for everyone. I've bought every single Galaxy S series phone since the original Galaxy S. Love them and won't use anything else. That being said, I don't think I'm biting on the S10 for the following reasons:

*A screen cutout or even camera hole isn't for everyone - I much prefer an uninterrupted display with really slim bezels like the S8 and S9 have
*Notification led disappears - I find that a really useful feature and don't want to lose it on the S10 and it is almost certainly not surviving from S9 to S10
*Fingerprint reader - being built into the screen is great but also means screen protectors won't allow that to work so I'm not keen on risking what may be a $1600 phone to scratches/cracks
*Nominal upgrades outside of this - obviously if you're a heavier user, the processor/RAM upgrades may make it worth it but for me, using it mostly for Social networking, share trading and email etc, I don't really need the additional power the S10 will have, especially when I'm trading it off for features mentioned above

In short, I feel Apple, Samsung etc are rushing to try make a truly all screen phone which is great, but these iPhone X like notches, camera cutouts etc which actually impact the usable screen feel like a transitionary technology which I'm not keen on. I think in a few years when the technology is there to allow all the sensors and even cameras to be embedded under the screen, we'll look back on these notch/cutout phones and think 'WTF were they thinking?'

        • Wow, I only know Apple fans, not realizing someone would buy all 9 releases from the same brand. Glad you're ditching the loyalty…

          • @Jamesx: Not so much ditching the loyalty as my next phone will be a Galaxy S phone too, but I'll be holding onto the S9 until the first non cutout Galaxy S version.

I'm sure the fingerprint sensor works under a screen protector. Works fine for the Huawei Mate 20 Pro so it should work fine on the Samsung Galaxy S10.

          • @tomochin1991: I think what jayjosephceltics meant was that based on their experience, scratches and/or cracks around the inscreen fingerprint sensor had adversely impacted the function.

If you have used iphones in the past or present and eyeing Samsung Galaxy, be aware that Samsung Galaxy and note 8 n 9 screens are really soft and the edge screen serves no utility to user and I don't even find it a feature but it primarily causes the screen to shatter and obtain hairline cracks straight away even on a soft drop from less than a metre. This becomes a nightmare when one finds out that getting the screen replaced costs around $300 for a phone for e. g Samsung Galaxy S8 that is priced less than $700 in the market. Iphone screens are a lot lot better and solid.

  • I know it was posted and then took down by admin as Staff offer, but considering how many people got the Samsung Watch as part of Samsung EPP, it's probably worth checking it out if you've got access to it

    Save 35% off the RRP on selected Galaxy S9, S9+ and Note9 mobile phones. From 5:00pm 15 February 2019 – 11:59pm (AEDT) 28 February 2019.
    ex. S9 64Gb for $779.35 Save $420.00 (Was $1,199.00)

    • How do you check that out?

you need to be working for one of the corporate partner mentioned in that deal
Not sure why the Samsung Watch deal was valid, but not the current S9/Note9 offer

    • Question is then S9 64gb or P20 Pro for similar prices?

      • +1

I would prefer S9 (smaller, better screen, headphone jack) but they are both great devices.
