    • Ferry?

      • yeah ferry +

Good deal. Not sure who I hate more between Gerry and Appliance central though.

  • Is there much concern about after sales service in HN compared to TGG?

    • +1

If I'm not mistaken, Hisense offers a three year in-home warranty.

    • +2

Both as bad as each other in my experience. Ultimately you are covered by the ACL, so either should be doing the right thing in that instance, however, I'm not sure if any retailer is ever always doing the right thing anymore anyway, but for what it's worth the best returns I've had thus far have been with JB HiFi.

I've had both good and bad experiences with JB and TGG. Its highly store and staff dependent. You must be firm but respectful with them. Also i have had to use Hisense support (replace a board as a HDMI port stopped working properly)… it was a bit of stuffing around but once the tech came out it was fixed promptly. I think the experience people have can often manifest from how you interact with them.

  • Just a reminder, I believe this deal will only be for tonight to counter TGG VIP Night

    • Correct, according to T&C:

      Special Price
      Offer ends 12:59PM AEST 21 February 2019 (11011809)

      • 12:59 PM is already past!

        • Most likely typo, should be 11:59pm.

          • @RichardL: or 12:59 AM aka 1 in the morning.

            • +1

              @AlienC: 12:59AM AEST 21 February 2019

              Would have been this morning.

              • @RichardL: You are right my bad I missed the date.

                Apologies.

So either way it is over now?

                • @AlienC: The deal is still valid for tonight. They only dropped the price on their website this afternoon…
I would say it's a typo and should read 11:59PM

                  • @dorikin: It is a typo, confirmed that with HN Chat.

  • +1

    The 75" is $2,290 with $150 card

    • +2

That's 1290$ too much for me mate =p

  • Is it possible to get this TV on interest-free?

    • Never mind, saw that you can.

    • -3

If you need interest free….. You probably should get a second hand TV.

  • This or Sammy NU7100?

    • I was considering between the two but the p7 imo is superior

  • +2

How bright is this TV? My living room is fairly bright. Am I going to need to spend a lot more to get a brighter screen?

    • +2

Why don't you just install a dimmer switch instead?

    • +1 to this , I have a well-daylight-lit living room and need to make sure the screen is bright enough

  • Pissed, purchased on the Appliance Central “sale” this morning…..pfft.

  • +3

    Hey,

just a word of caution, we went through two of these before we got a third one that wasn't noticably bent/bowed along the top and on the left hand side, the third one had a very minimal bend in it - maybe a millimeter or two so we let it fly and then this third one only came after months of waiting for the new batch to arrive in Australia and then for some odd reason it was having troubles with our nvidia shield when we turned either the tv off or the shield off (via the hdmi CEC power control) the tv would just turn back on. In the end i had to change the setting so that shield can't turn the tv on, but we didn't have that problem on the two from the old batch. Sales guy told me they started using a new factory, so perhaps there's a new board, chip or firmware revision causing it. Also noticed a lot weird 'brighter than the rest of the screen' zones.

Long story short, just run your eye down along the top edge and if you see a bend let them know and ask for replacement. To find the bend on the left I used a straight edge, it was bent back by a good 25mm and the right side was fine.

Hope you all have a better experience, ours has been a bit meh, but eventually you get use to it, it just sucks when you pay good money for something and you get put through the ringer with customer service.

also to avoid ringing around the edges try turning off the motionflow setting, just leave it at 30fps, it might take a bit of fiddling to get everything right, its probably more noticeable if you have a lot of lower res content, if you exclusively watch 4k stuff you probably won't have to drop the settings back.

    • Might be worth going through the whirlpool thread to optimize settings. I'm a bit out of date now as mine is a older model but often there are euro firmware versions for hisense (UK, Germany etc) that are much better than the crap they give us.

  • Any deals for the 55" one ?

    • Picked it up for 845 +50 dollar fuel card last night.

      • Sigh. I am always late

  • Can TV nerds help out with some objective advice?

A QLED TCL 65 X4US can be had for not much more than this during a sale.
From what I can see this is a backlit panel, HDR800 so should produce better images.
I know in store it has really stood out for me, but at the same time they weren't showing generic footage, it was their own special looped stuff.

It seems you get a heck of a lot for your $ with the TCL…

Brand name aside, is there an objective reason to buy the Hisense p7 over the TCL?

  • Thanks for the post. Got one online and pick up from store. paid by 2 gift cards which was bought from AMEX deal($600 get $150 cashback).pretty happy with that.

I went to hoppers crossing HN and try to bought in store, the staff try to conceal the fact the deals come with $100 gift card.he told me with that price there is no gift card. I was in a rush because I went HN at my break time only 60 mins there . so I purchased in store without $100 bonus gift card offer. and when I back home found out from hn website,it should come with $100 gift card. so order online for another one and cancel the store order. The staff is consuming his reputation。
