Clicked on the link, and I get

Chitato Indo Mie Mi Goreng Chips 55g
    Sorry, temporarily unavailable.

    in ACT

    • Plenty of stock in Adelaide stores from memory. Been half price for maybe a fortnight, not flying off the shelves

      • It works now, OP updated the link. $1.30 is a good price for those who like it.

  • It's nasty.

      Tastes like chit?

  • +3

These are so good yet so bad.

  • +14

If you like Indomie Mi Goreng, you'll like these. They really nailed the flavour!

    • -1

Agreed, except I’m weak and don’t put the chilli sachet in when I make mi goring - which I can’t do with the chips so while nice authentic flavour, just a bit too spicy for me!

      • +1

You need to train yourself to eat the chilli sachet, they're not actually that hot. It is so much better when you put everything there.

    • +2

Humans are 100% chemicals. Can't go wrong with extra chemicals.

  • +1

No nuts in actual Mi Goreng but they added them to the chips….thanks (profanity)

    • +4

Blame the manufacturing equipment not the Mie Mi Goreng Chip God's for the traces of deez nuts

      • +1

The pack actually says contains peanuts, not just the standard traces of nuts disclaimer that everything has these days.

        • The pack actually says contains peanuts

          Yep, saw that…

You don't expect to see peanuts in potato chips flavoured with a product that doesn't contain nuts.

      • are those nuts imported from sugondese?

        • +1

sugondese? i heard they were wiped out by ligma.

  • +2

I'm the kind of person who thinks it's almost impossible to over salt anything, but these are like pouring a packet of mi goreng flavouring on your tongue, COMPLETELY over the top.

    • +3

It'd be hard to pour it over the bottom, wouldn't it?

    • +1

it's even fried in palm oil.

    • +1

I was prepared for this based on the comments in the last OzB thread. I must have gotten a rare dulled down set of packets. I never add salt to my food or anything so I don't think my pallet is far from neutral. I'd hate for the people who think these are 'too flavourful' or 'too salty' to ever try salt and vinegar chips or balsamic dressing on salad.

  • Oh. I bough it on 1.30. 30% lost. :-(

  • nationwide $1 ?

    i saw it's still $1.30 last week

  • +1

    who eats this Chit

  • Can't find them at WW Haymarket and central.

  • +2

    Enak banget

  • MSG in potato flavor.

    • Potatoes contain MSG naturally, not sure what you are getting at.

      • Potatoes contain MSG naturally

Source? Although I do agree with you that MSG is not as bad as some make it out to be.

        • +4

MSG allegies are psychological (this does not mean fake) ie. sufferers can consume MSG and experience no symptoms provided they have no knowledge.

          • @Diji1: MSG + caffeine = amphetamines for me last time I had that combo I did not sleep for 3 days.
And the reflux + hiccups did not help.
The fried rice tasted great however

            • @Boostland: Duly noted. Know what I'll be having with my coffee tomorrow morning.

          5.1 Occurrence
As an abundant amino acid, glutamate is found in a virtually all foods, including meat, fish,
poultry, breast milk and vegetables. In general, protein-rich foods such as breast milk, cheese
and meat, contain large amounts of bound glutamate, while most vegetables contain relatively
low amounts. However, despite their lower protein contents, vegetables tend to contain
proportionally higher levels of free glutamate, especially peas, tomatoes, and potatoes. The
typical glutamate content of various foods is given in Table 1. The free glutamate content of
other foods such as traditional seasonings, packaged foods and restaurant food is presented in
          Table 2.

          • @highdealer: Thanks for that. I may be splitting hairs here, but that is in regards to the amino acid Glutamate, not MSG.

  • Really strong smell. Brought these to the movies…bad mistake! You could smell the seasoning a few rows away.

  • +3

They taste exactly like Mi Goreng. Dunno what people are complaining about lol

    • +1

      They really nailed the flava…

  • Love the conflict this brings to OZB. Health > Cheapness < Health

  • -2

I don't know much about Indonesia, but I know mi goreng, it means fried noodles.

Vote +1 if you like mi.

  • those are some nasty unhealthy chips with a bizarre original price of around $45 per KG. Seriously WTF?

also at Woolworths far superior half price Kettle Chips way better value

    https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/587293/ket…

    • also at Woolworths far superior half price Kettle Chips

You do realise people like this for the taste, right. Telling them Kettle Chips are superior is pointless because the selling point of these is that it tastes like Mi Goreng.

      • it's like recommending helicopter lessons in a post advertising cheap jetski lessons . sure they're both lessons but completely different

        • Does anyone need jetski lessons. Really?

  • Wasn't super impressed. Bought a bag to take a look and that will do. Seems that is the general consensus as they can't give them away now that everyone has had a bag and gone 'yeah, not bad.'

  • +1

If you like Indomie Mi Goreng, you'll like these. They really nailed the flavour!

  • If you liked nailed it, mee goreng they really the flavour get this.

  • they really nailed it, and didnt skimp out on the flavour enhancer 621

  • Tong Li (or other asian grocers) have this for 1.3$ consistently.

    • Miracle at world sq selling for $1.9 though

  • Is it better than eating a Mie Goreng dry by crushing the noodles and pouring the seasoning on top then shake?
