Amazon AU Prime Trial for 2 Months (Initial 30-Day Extension for Another Month)

How I unlocked the second month Prime trial:

  1. Opt in for 30-day Prime trial
  2. A day before trial ends, go to cancel and when a message to change a plan appears click the button to switch to annual ($59)
  3. Right after changing the plan go back to cancel the plan again - a message to extend the trial for another 30 days will appear
  4. Click the button to extend the plan

03/05/19 UPDATE:
How it might work as well:
1. Opt in for 30-day Prime trial
2. 3 days before trial ends, go to your account to cancel membership.
3. On the second page of cancellation process notice an offer for a 30-day extension and accept it.

  • Hi OP, does it only work when it's 1-2 days before ending? i am 3 days away from ending and there's no message showing me to extend membership for another month.

    • I did it a day before the last day of my first 30-day trial period. Maybe try tomorrow? Otherwise this might be no longer working.

  • Not sure if this works any more, I tried yesterday and Today my last day until my membership expires. I get this message come up - Important message
    Due to a technical problem, we could not process your request completely. Please check after a few minutes.

    • Means they have a technical problem. Try again in a few minutes, then let us know 😊

      • Been trying at least 15 times yesterday and Today still getting that message.

          • @alexshel: Yeah tried on different devices and still having the error, thats all good, luck for the ones who got the extension, I didn't want to get charge the $6.99 so I cancel it now, its was worth a shot, tried almost 30 times but I gave up.

            • @cr12330: So the error appeared when you saw the offer to extend for another month, or it was something else? How did you manage to cancel at the end?

                Once I switch to the annual $59 offer, Then it took me to the main page for prime, that when it had in red.

                "Due to a technical problem, we could not process your request completely. Please check after a few minutes."

                Could not get or step 3 at all or further, unfortunately :(

                At the end I just end the membership, so instead of clicking the 59 annual offer, just decide to click end membership and it went to another page saying are you sure etc and I just confirmed, end, was hoping maybe there was another page for hope but nah, it actually ended the trail and say your Prime will finish on the 6th of April 2019.

                  @cr12330: It might be that the campaign is over :( thanks for letting us know. Let's see how other people go, then might mark the deal as expired, if doesn't work for anyone

    Don't even need to change to the annual plan anymore, just comes up with a message to extend by another 30 days on the 2nd screen during the cancellation steps.

    It still works, did it 7 days before it ends. The extension will be 30 days added to the payment due date not the date on which you extend.

    • Did you need to click Switch to annual payment buttion?

      • For me, I wasn't getting 30 days extension on monthly payment. I switched to annual first and tried again, got 30 days trial extension this time and then switched back to monthly again. :)

          • @Meovel: Ok I gocha, the reason was because I used a prepaid card for revew, after switching to a debit card it worked without issue!

    It's still work, but need to tweak it by cancelling the membership first, and then accept the monthly membership suggestion. Then go back to the membership page to change it to yearly, and again cancel the membership, it will then offer the extension before you confirm your cancellation.

    • yep can also confirm this worked.

      It didn't offer me when I cancelled the first time. Then i went back and chose "Continue membership" to resume the trial, then followed the method above and it offered the extension this time.

      I'm actually happy with paying for Prime membership, but hey, another free month, why not!?

    It was not worked at the first time with error message saying "Due to a technical problem, we could not process your request completely. Please check after a few minutes." I kept trying and change Payment methods to AMEX card then it worked!.

    Steps:

    1) If your trial is a Monthly subscription, switch to Annual subscription.
    2) Click [End Trial and Benefits] button on left bottom corner, on the second screen, you will "Consider extending your free trial" screen.
    3) Click [Extend Prime free trial] and you should have an extra month.

  • Switching to annual and they trying to cancel didn't work for me :(

    Just lets you cancel and says your membership will end on the specified date.

    Having said that I opened my account in late October to get the Maccas $20 off voucher. Didn't join Prime free trial until late November when the account got targeted with a "get $10 for joining Prime" voucher.
