[ACT] iiNet VDSL2 Renewing Pay Half Price for The First Year and Full Price Second Year for Existing Customers

60

Hi

Not a new deal but for existing customers coming to the end of their contract with iinet you should be able to renew on the same deal as before. I called and hinted at moving elsewhere and the customer rep offered to sign me up for another 24 month contract on the same deal as before. The setup cost was also removed when I queried it.

Hope this helps others out there and apologies if I've posted in the wrong place.

"VDSL2 is only available within the ACT"

    • Yep - but if you've signed up for a deal elsewhere then this info may help in getting another good deal.

      • Nope, plans are fixed they don't make any adjustment no matter what and if they say they do its sales bs.. (ex staff) (Edit)- Unless you mean another company?

Probably didn't explain myself too well. If you are on an existing deal with iinet other than VDSL2 then maybe you can also get another deal when your current deal expires.

  • iiNet? No thanks.

I've had decent customer service from them and at $60 for unlimited 80Mbps download speed not bad value.

Good speeds, useless service for anything beyond "please reset your router".

      • Where did you get that kind of price? It says $80 on their website.

        • $40 for the 1st year, $80 for the second year which gives an average of $60

Calling fiber to the node fiber is like calling normal coke 90% sugar free

    • IKR. That has never made sense. The weak point was always the "node" to the house, not the fat cables connecting the exchanges. Yet the fat cables got fatter and the weak link remained intact!

      • To be fair, the weak link got a whole lot shorter. But it does still remain the weak link. Still I get 67mbps, which is better than the 2mbps available with adsl2 lol

        • Yeah but just remember 67mbps might seem fine for the next 10 years but after that….. but lets not get into politics

  • Thanks OP! I think I expire next month.

  • They flat out refused to wave the setup fee for me. How did you pull that off?

    • Ask Aussie broadband, they have the same 50% off for first 6 months.

    • I just stated there shouldn't be a setup fee because I'm an existing customer. Simples
