  • Great timing! I've almost finished the 4 jars I bought last time Coles had these on special…

      From 2 weeks ago?

      • I drink a (probably) unhealthy amount of protein shakes… Milk, 2 spoons of the protein peanut butter, 2 scoops of protein powder, a banana, and ice. One of these once a day means a LOT of peanut butter usage.

    • ALDI have an equivalent (100% natural) at around the same price all the time.

      • LOL, it's about as equivalent to Mayvers as I am to Katie Perry (human).

When will the cacao super spread be on sale again :( mumma needs her sugar

    • +1

Yeah I have been waiting for that too.

Why did someone down vote you?

They don't know that dates are essentially sugar?

Thank goodness, thanks OP, getting desperate in our household

    • About time :) have been waiting as well.

5 star health rating for PB?

    • +2

Why wouldn't it be? Peanut butter's extremely healthy for you.

    • Very healthy provided there are no added oils. Always go for the natural stuff.

    • Tub a day keeps the doctors away.

SO long as you aren't consuming a jar of it in a day, it's perfectly healthy. I have a generous teaspoon of the Hemp variety in my protein shake everyday! :)

      • Nice! I was wondering about doing that also, so will give the hemp one a shot - man :)

Have you tried the 5 seeds mix too? How was the flavour with that? Not too overpowering/weird?

        • +1

I've been using the 5 seeds in my shakes for the past week, and the difference isn't too bad. It's got that multigrain taste, but it's not overpowering at all and I actually quite enjoy it.

      • What's the taste difference like between the hemp and the normal ones?

  • It is time

    • to duel?

False advertising 😑😥 in store at the Richmond Woolies. It's not on sale at all.

  • Whats so special about this brand compared to other peanut butter brands?

From the smooth pb, which is similar to the crunchy and I hazard is reflected in the other pb pages:

Mayver’s world-famous Natural Smooth Peanut Butter is made in Australia from nothing but roasted peanuts and a pinch of sea salt.

Like all our other natural Peanut Butters, it contains absolutely no added oil, sugar, gluten, dairy, cholesterol or hardened fats. The peanuts are carefully selected then lightly roasted, mixed with the finest sea salt and ground to perfection giving it a naturally sweet tasting, smooth texture with a tiny zing!

      From their FAQ:

Mayver's Super Tasty Peanut Butters and Dark Roast Peanut Butters are made in Victoria, Australia from at least 50% Aussie peanuts that are grown in Kingaroy, Queensland. All our other spreads are made from the finest, raw natural ingredients that we personally select from farms around the world. We try to use Australian ingredients wherever possible however sometimes there simply isn't enough Australian produce available which means we need to source it from other farms that adhere to our strict quality standards.

TL;DR - peanuts (99.3%) and a bit of salt, made in Australia from a lot of Australian peanuts

      • So…do they taste much better than other brands or something?

        • Hmm I suppose it's a matter of preference? I like it, and find it less 'sticky' to the roof of the mouth than your regular Kraft. It also has no added sugar vs Kraft, so might be good for those who find regular pb too sweet.

Given this works out to $0.67/100g, and bulk Bega/Kraft is $0.83/100g, this is probably a good time to see if this type of pb suits you. Please remember to stir it up though, as the pb's natural oils will have separated a little to the top - for families with impatient members, this would not be a good product choice.

          • @kwchaz: Or you could tip the jar upside down, a day prior to using, and store in the fridge.

so I got an unsalted one scanned at $5. I told them I thought it is half priced for this brand? Apparently unsalted one is not selling on their website so they forget to adjust the sale price. The manager gave it to me for free according to scanning policy.
