  • Could you add the price to the title/description?

  • I just bought a body/fat scale yesterday from BigW: http://www.bigw.com.au/home-garden/bath/bathroom-accessories…
It was hard for me to decide because they were all brandless.

  • how accurate are these at measuring body fat?

    • i don't think you can measure in absolute terms. but it might be useful as a relative measure, ie, if your body fat % goes down then you know you are losing fat.

stand-on ones are simply estimating the body fat in your legs/groin. you could have a huge gut and it wouldn't be any the wiser.

i picked up my scales from aldi a short while back for $14.99. they're probably in the reduced section by now :)

although it is a couple of years old, this might be useful: http://www.choice.com.au/reviews-and-tests/food-and-health/d…

    • They measure it by resistance. It sends a very low electrical charge through your body and calculates how much electricity comes back.

The more fat/mass, the less electricity.

Then based on your height and age it determines an approximation of your fat.

First thing in the morning usually gives you a higher fat reading as opposed to just before bed too. It has something to do with being dehydrated first thing but I'm not fully aware of how this works.

mattgal is correct in that it's primarily used to determine how your fat percentages are going - not specifically an actual figure.

  • Looking at the website and their quoted original prices, it doesnt look too bad…. 40-50% off and what looks like free delivery as well.

Very surprised this isnt mentioned in title, might get a hell of a lot more votes. I'll refrain from giving any votes until updated.

There is no bargain here, just advertising/spam.
At $20 plus $13 delivery, there is no bargain, as similar generic scales pop up regularly cheaper elsewhere
    (for example COTD: http://www.google.com.au/search?q=catch+of+the+day+scales )

I'm not negging this deal as the scales aren't identical, but hunting around you will find cheaper.

I guess it's up to everyone to neg vote SPAM as we've been instructed to do.

They can't even be bothered following the site rules and adding a price to the title.

so much alliteration…what a literate genius

just finished Shakespeare Unit @ school today!

  • Sympathizes?

so if I don't like my weight it'll play a soothing melody?

Neg for no price in title. this seems more like an ad/spam to me.
