Hah, that price is a joke

    • I used to pay $$$$ for Samsonite when hard cases were an oddity. Now I just use kmart.

  • +5

Seems to be just over the Qantas (as an example) on-board luggage dimensions.
And weighing 3.86kg eats into your on-board allowance.

    • +1

It's OK. Qantas is raising their onboard allowance to 10kg starting from Monday 25 March

      • -3

Yes, 10kg in total but each piece can only weigh 7kg maximum. So for this item you could only pack in 3.14kg of contents.

        • +2

          No it's 14kg total, 10kg + 4kg.

Qantas passengers on domestic flights will soon be able to board their flights with a carry-on bag weighing up to 10kg, plus a second personal item or bag weighing up to 4kg.

          • +1

            @happychild100: Apologies, you are correct.
For this item, you could now pack in 6.14kg of contents.
Except the dimensions exceed the Qantas limits.

I'd just get a Samsonite ARQ 55cm Spinner which on sale is similar priced.
May not have as many compartments, but their 10yr warranty is pretty good. Recently got my Aerial one replaced with a ARQ free of charge due to issues with the Aerial one (zip broke).

Looks like the one Kmart sell for $39

Made with advanced Bayer PC material and oxford fabric
And made with advanced Bayer PC material and oxford fabric
Not to mention Made with advanced Bayer PC material and oxford fabric

    • +2

      But no Band 28.

  • +1

Meh. For carry on might as well go with the Samsonite 72H 50/55cm for half the price and less than half the weight.

  • do Xiaomi make bottled water too?

  • I have a similar Xiaomi 90 Fun case and it costs me $80. It's cheap enough but it's relatively heavy so that occupies your carry-on allowance.

  • if made from titanium i get one at that price

  • +1

    too heavy

  • It's too heavy you get 2.6 kg suitcase in market air luggage costs 20-30$ average a KG which is very expensive you spend like 300$ for 10 trips.

  • I have one of these and used it as a carry on along with a smaller backpack across Iceland, Croatia and parts of Asia. Flew budget airlines (Ryan air and easyJet) and full priced carriers (Qantas a few weeks ago), was never stopped to weigh it.

It fits in the overhead lockers of smaller planes horizontally (i.e. wheels pointed to the side).

Quality is good, saw decent abuse in Iceland while being packed to the brim and performed flawlessly. Wheels are very quiet and laptop compartment is handy. Just beware putting a laptop in it eats into the main storage area.
