Not a bad price overall. Tempted to get it but will probably purchase the p7 when i can afford it.

    • Nice price. Does this model do HDR10? I can't see any mention in the specs. I have a couple of Hisense 55inch sets (6 and 7 series) and they both do HDR.

      • Its HDR but not HDR10/Plus. Picture quality between this and the P7 is near on indistinguishable according to feedback on whirlpool when i was reading. Exception was for good quality HDR content where P7 was a tad better probably due to WCG. Im still using a 65M7000 myself ele would happily get a P6 or P7.

  • Is this the model that everyone thinks is good value for money?

I could be wrong, but i believe everyone gravitates to the P7, this is the model before.

I'm often told the P7 has much better picture overal, but it's also around $200~ more when on sale.

      • P7 was $1200 not long ago.

Yes i was quite guttered. Got $1,000 in the tv fund atm, only needed that $200. Pleaded with the missus but she assured me i can wait lol.

          • @Frayin: Wait for a year. P7 75 would be $1.2k

            • @Jamesx: This is exactly what i might do now. Great idea.

When you compare the power ratings, P7 is better choice.

My plasma uses around 400W… Has a heavy duty power cord. Whenever I watch a movie, there's a news report the next day that another huge ice sheet broke off somewhere.

@Make it so: My old plasma used to double as a room heater. I didn't like watching tv in the summer, but winter was binge time.

            • @Ge3ks: Exactly my situation lol Panasonic tank still goin strong. Run on eco mode to minimize temps but still..

  • Can anyone indicate how does this unit compare to the Sony Bravia X83F?

    • The X85F side by side with the Hisense has a much better picture, particularly on FTA. Recently we were looking at a Hisense after reading forums like this, but went with the Sony X90F 55" for $1430. Viewing FTA and going through the channels quickly sorts Tv's from good to bad, if this is what you watch.

  • I maybe wrong, but from a layman's perspective who just know what is visually better and the size and the brand, I feel no difference between P6 and P7 when I saw them side by side. People will differ of course.
