50% off RRP of all Vitamin Supplements at Chemist Warehouse

640

I was in Chemist Warehouse at Doncaster today, and they were marking down all vitamins / minerals in all brands down by 50% from the RRP. It officially starts tomorrow - though I can't find anything on their website.

Additional info from other ozbargainers:

Includes the following brands: Blackmores, Naturopathica, Swisse, Cenovis, Bio-glan, Bioorganics, Nature's own, Nature's way

It seems like its instore only.
It appears to be national, and ends next Sunday

Pretty sure it's national, all the vitamins on their website are marked down to 50% of their RRP.

awesome deal, i'm just about to finish my current bottle

    • +2

Looking at their website I can't see all vitamins marked down 50% of the RRP currently .
Many vitamins are at their regular (discounted price). Some vitamins have been marked a bit more.
We'll have to wait to see if prices change
      eg. http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/product.asp?id=55318 Was $11.39SRP now $10.39 save $1.00

oh well the brands i looked up were. swisse, herrons, etc.

guess i didn't check all of them

Amazing how people are happy to sprinkle their "-" comment votes on factually correct statements yet don't put them on factually incorrect ones that mislead others.

Would anyone like care to explain their neg votes on my comment above when I have pointed out that the comment that "all the vitamins on their website are marked down to 50% of their RRP" couldn't be substantiated?

        • +1

I'm not sure how you are getting your interpretation but I'd simply like to understand the reason stating a fact (with proof) to help others is seen as bad rather than positive (as I intended)? Not much of an incentive to help others here otherwise. There was nothing offensive or incorrect in my statement.

no,its not on all vitamins, I just checked out blackmores vitamins and there are a couple at 50%off but most are only about $10 off each item or about 25% off

  • +1

Started a couple of weeks ago. I would say their prices are about 40% off regular prices for many items and 50% off for some.

    • +1

How could it start a couple of weeks ago, when prices were nowhere near 50% off?

    • +5

Definately did not start a couple weeks ago because I was in friday and there was nothing about 50% off.

      • +1

I bought some Blackmores from them two weeks ago and they were definitely 50% off, along with similar discounts on many other brands such as Swisse, Nature's Way & etc.

Can cofirm that deal is available in Perth as advertised in our Sunday paper.
Offer ends next Sunday and, with no stated 'start date', must be available from today.

consider changing your diet rather than taking vitamin supplements. best value option of all.

    • +3

      It's not so easy.

      • -5

        No pain - no gain.

        • +1

People on a healthy diet can also benefit from taking vitamin supplements…

        • Your diet will never cover your complete nutritional requirements every single day.
Supps are a good backup with exact quantities of ingredients known.

        • +9

          No pain - no gain.

Would you say this to someone with allergies? Nut allergy - just eat some peanut butter and STFU already?

How about gluten, dairy or any other kind of allergy/intolerance?

Get your head out of the ground and stop being arrogant - not everyone can have a perfect diet with everything their body requires, every day.

    • +5

the main problem is you can easily overdose on vitamins, esp vitamins a & e. it could actually be detrimental to your long term health. vitamin supplements are medicines. you should not be taking them unless you know you have a deficiency.

Most people are buying supplements not because they have allergies/intolerances etc but for some other reasons. My previous comment related to them. Applying of this comment to people with allergies/intolerances problems is more than just dumb!
Supplements are only supplements and not a substitute for food or panacea. However overdose /improper use of such supplements (as mentioned above by mattgal) might lead to the same mentioned allergies and even more serious consequences etc…

      Conversation flow;

      consider changing your diet ..

      it's not so easy

      no pain - no gain

How the hell are I supposed to know that you are specifically talking about people buying supplements to overdose? I naturally assumed ( I know, m'bad apparently ) that we were talking about people having diets that are hard to change…..

Maybe next time you can put more information into a post, it helps everyone.

  • Does Chemist warehouse stock protein shakes?

  • Its a bit confusing how its 50% off RRP but then the site lists SRP :S They should list both so we can at least see the 50%.

    • They do have the RRP on the website. SRP = RRP. As far as I'm aware the 50% off vitamins is store only.

  • +1

Yes they do stock protein shakes.

This 50% off rrp applies to following brands - blackmores, naturopathica, swisse, cenovis, bio-glan, bioorganics, nature's own, nature's way

Is this store wide? Often they do "Up to 50% off RRP of Vitamins". I really despise being misled by "Up to".

    • Store wide. Every brand i've listed is 50% off RPP not "up to".

  • +1

The Swisse items I usually buy are significantly cheaper according to their website than the normal Chemist Warehouse prices. The only problem is when they discount heavily like this, the shelves are usually emptied out very quickly.

  • +3

I buy Swisse Ultivite 120 tablet packs. Standard supermarket price is $48, and about mid 30s on special.

Chemist Warehouse lists the standard price as $69.95, which is currently discounted to $34.95. I can confidently say no one ever sells this product for $70. $35 is a good price, but it's no where near 50% off.

  • +4

Be aware that this is 50% off RRP (or their competitors price), not off the normal price of their vitamins.
Very very tiny fine print in their print ad disclosed that the products may never have been sold at RRP.

    • not even 50% off thier price as I said earlier, blackmores products coul;d be counted on one hand in the 50% off the rest of blackmores are only about 25%off

Although using this site for over 1 year, but only posting(normally asking advice)I realy cannot believe how many of you attack other posters!
Supplements can be beneficiary so why do some say 'alter your diet'?
I need zinc to prevent the flu-haven't had the flu in over 10 years and I KNOW IT IS ZINC that works in my system.
I suffer from rosacea and I KNOW EPO works in my system tp prevent the symptoms of 'that red face'.
I know because, at times my system has been depleted of the above, and I suffered.Be fair to others!!!!!!!!

sure, there are lots of reasons to use supplements. however, i was suggesting that people examine their diet first to see if they can improve it before resorting to pills. getting your daily intakes through dietary intake has more health benefits than just popping pills. better still, see a doctor to get an opinion on whether supplements are required.

  • Awesome. I'm almost out of tasty fish pills and was gonna venture into CW this week anyway.

  • I noticed a few pharmacies have 50% off their range of vitamins now as well (Westfield Doncaster). Either they are all price matching or all the vitamin brands are putting through some price cuts.

  • No discount on Centrum???

    • Swisse is better…

      • Why?

        • +1

          Because Mark Webber uses it

  • Blackmores chewable vitamin c for only $2.43. I was pretty happy with that!

  • I'm sure I checked the website last night and it was half price for swisse immune and ultivites but now it doesn't seem to be anymore…

  • There's also 30% off RRP of Revlon, Maybeliene (spelling??), Rimmel, and Designer Brands cosmetics and an extra 20% off fragrance and fragrance gift packs :)

  • 50% off swisse range for coles qld starting 18 may
