  • Xiaomi Mi Roborock S50 Robot Vacuum Cleaner 2nd Generation Australian Version is coming around $485. Is it a good deal boss.?

    • +1

Depends on when you want to make the leap

    • +1

The last deal in Feb was $449. I'd wait mate.

  • +4

    Plug: CN Plug

I'll buy the Dreame vacuum in a heartbeat once it has an AU plug

    • -2

CN plug is AU plug, only upside down

      • +2

Depends on which hemisphere you are in.

      • +3

Na the one I got has the 2 straight pins. Same seller.

        • Pro tip: You can actually bend the pins using pliers so they line up with an Australian socket. It looks dodgy af, but works fine.

          • +8

@hikarikami: Don't do this. An adapter costs $1.

            • @lostn: Any reliable adaptors you can recommend?

              • @Hunter14: Just any travel adapter.

When you buy goods from CN, they usually throw one in for free.

            • @lostn: I've bent the prongs a number of times on different devices; you have to be careful but its doable and means no need to have a loose dodgey adapter plugged into the wall.

              • @[Deactivated]: You don't get full contact with the socket. It doesn't go all the way in. Part of it sticks out which means it will be a bit loose. This isn't safe.

It wasn't intended to be used like this.

Is it worth it to save a dollar?

          • @hikarikami: I bend the tips on my Dreame power adapter, very happy with the result. For a laugh look at this video https://youtu.be/GYbkUGJt1js

      • CN Plug has Thicker Terminals and will not fit Aussie socket. Have tried

      • That is the least correct, and therefore least helpful piece of information I have ever heard

    • +3

Yes, so will I. I had been waiting for AU plug since I last asked and Gearbite said it will be AU plug in March.

    • +1

    • +1

Pardon my ignorance, but what are some issues with having a non AU plug?

I'm quite keen on this, I've been hanging out for another ~$500 Dyson V8 Absolute deal, but if this vacuum is just as good I'll get this one

      • If you get a two pin CN plug, you need an adapter. A three pin CN plug is like an AU plug, just upside down.

      • its quite easy to cut the plug and put an AU plug on it and im the furthest person from a tradie type handyman i know

    • Does anyone knows if the CN plug for the Dreame is just a figure 8 cable that can be easily swapped like the Xiaomi Mi Robot vacuum (Gen 1)?

      • its not an 8 its a transformer

        • Do you own one? Could you please share photo of the power supply?

          • @trex: Not figure 8, cable stuck adapter's.

            • @zorrt: Thanks. Do you know what barrel size and output (Volts and Amp) it is? Thinking whether it is possible to swap it with a AU type adapter.

          • @trex: Hey mate I have one and just took some photos for you. How should I send them?

            • @ttam87: Thanks heaps! Probably Imgur or photo bucket and share the link?

            • +4

@ttam87: You can upload them to Ozbargain by clicking 'My Account' >> 'files' >> 'Upload New File', and then sharing the link it generates here.

              • +1

@ragrum: Thanks for that. Will remember for next time.

    • Dang it, I don't know how I misread these comments, but I thought I was receiving at least an adapter, if not an AU plug.
I was about to lodge a complaint threatening negative feedback, but thought I'd better check first.

  • +7

With a strong power, the robot absorbs all the debris, steel beads, soybeans, dust, millet or any other wastes all in a sudden

Ah, finally! Can shift those steel beads and soybeans from my floors..

    • Have you tried it over the carpet? Does it come with carpet brush?

  • +3

Do us a cheeky meal deal price for buying both Gearbite? 😏

  • 20000 pa = 20kpa = ~3psi = not much suck

  • Seriously considering the Robot Vac, torn between this one and the Deebot N79T. Anyone have any experience with either or both?

    • +7

I have the gen 1 Xiaomi, can't speak for the Deebot but the xiamoi has made my house so much tidier.

It forces me to not be lazy and leave stuff on the floor it'll tangle up, and collects a decent amount of dirt and fluff (have 2 super fluffy cats) every day. I've a relatively small 4x2 and it can do the majority of the house on one charge. Only drama is a sunken living room, but that'd also be off limits to a wheel chair user.

I didn't realise how much I hated vacuuming until I got the robot vacuum and it makes my life a ton easier. Sound like a shill but highly recommend one.

    • +1

Do you have shaggy rugs or similar long pill carpets?
If so, they won't do them, get stuck or won't even go onto them.

Otherwise I like my xiaomi robovac. Great unit.

  • how does the stick compare to that other Xiaomi stick? The one that looks like the V10.

V6 is the same price at BigW right now. How does it compare to that?

    • I too would like to know.

      • +1

I saw that before. But I get a feeling it's a sponsored video and we don't know all the details of the setup (e.g. are they both set to the same power setting?), so I have to take that with a grain of salt.

  • How is the performance of the V9 over the carpet? It seems to be good package to resists. Does this comes with the carpet brush? If not, Does anybody know when would be available?

    • Just comes with fluffy head so wouldn't use it on carpet. Seller said carpet head comes out in may on one of his other posts.

  • +4

come on rep! give us a gen 2 deal!

I bought the Dreame one from the same seller two weeks ago and I was surprised of how powerful it is. I have a Rainbow vacuum that I bought for $4000 and the Dreame had a similar suction but less than 1/4 of the size.

I have only used it 4 times so far and it seems to be a good quality product. It does what it has been designed for. I vacuumed my 3 bedroom apartment and 3 classrooms in one charge (2nd power setting). The maximum power seemed to be overkilling the machine for no reason. I used it on some spots but in most cases I felt it is not needed. I was rushing a bit too so I can finish quickly before it stops. I think I spent about 25 minutes. I have to say though that it takes a very long time to fully charge again.

I found the dust container very hard to clean if you fill more than half of it. I had to empty it three times once after each classroom.

I guess it is ideal as a second vacuum for times you need to vacuum quickly or as a main vacuum for small apartments or offices. It won't certainly replace my Rainbow but I don't have to use the bulky rainbow as often as I used to.

It was helpful for me to keep some classrooms I hire nice and clean. So if you are looking for something portable the product is perfect for that purpose.

Plug is CN not AU, I had to use an AU plug. It would have been much better if the charger had a longer cable in case where you decide to store it where there is no close power point.

    • +3

Please check manual regarding to clean the dust container. You can also check picture Here

  • @gearbite, could you please advise about my cancellation for cordless vacuum cleaner. I am going to purchase gen 1 mi robot instead from gearbite. I cancelled the order at ebay and waiting for your reply. Thanks.

    • +1

      i will follow up.

      • Thanks @Gearbite for speedy refund. Ordered Mi Robot. YaaY.

  • +6

@Gearbite Should chuck the Xiaomi Mi Roborock S50 Robot Vacuum up on sale too ;)

  • Hi Gearbite. The 30 days money back guarantee is even if you are not satisfied with the performance and not that it is faulty?

  • i managed to get a good comparison review for Roidmi F8 and Xiao Dreme V9. Unforunately, it is in Chinese.

    https://post.smzdm.com/p/a78ek75g/p3/

Can someone translate the last part to show the conclusion of these two?

    Hope this helps.

Main concern i have for Dreme is you have to hold the button while cleaning which is why i didn't pick a Dyson :) Very tiring for a long period of cleaning.

    Cheers.

    • Add on to this, Roidmi suction head has a torch light and turned on automatically when you are cleaning under the cabinet/sofa/desk etc.
It is quite handy for some.

    • this dreame is pretty heavy. I don't think my wife's gonna like it. Haven't been again show her yet.

  • +1

The PULL10 code has expired. I used PRINCE10.

  • Got one gonna replace Dyson V6

    • PRINCE10 did not work for me.

  • I really want to get this but unsure if I should drop the cash considering half my house is carpet.

    • Carpet: No

    • They’re supposed to bring out a carpet head eventually. I found that it depends on how thick the carpet is and how dirty it is. It’s fine on thin carpets (I’m happy with how it cleans a thin rug I have), just not so well on the plush thick carpets.

  • Just received it. This product is complete copy of dyson v6 even accessories look the same lol
