Extra controller at $17.10 seems alright also

    • thanks . I have added that to the description as well

  • Just ordered! I also read if you have SNES classic controller it works on the NES.

Yes the snes controllers do work on the nes although i recommend getting an extra nes control for that authentic feel. The controllers feel great in hand and are part of the nostalgia trip if that's why you are buying this.

  • c64 mini from Amazon.com via Amazon.com.au too = $62.68 with Prime

    • Well recommended.

  • Does this have matio brothers?

    • Yes. Includes Mario Bros (1983), Super Mario Bros (1985), Super Mario Bros 3 (1990).

See the official Web site for further console details and all included games.

I dont understand why people would go for thid kind of thing as you van easily emulate this on laptops, Raspberry pie etc. Or just save up and get a ps4 pr switch , better graphics and games

    • Everyone's different…

  • +2

Some people still enjoy the classic gaming experience they had when they were younger. Old controller, TV, simple but fun game play, and they are much cheaper compare to ps4 or switch.

  • If they were smart they would include The Wizard DVD movie as a bundle, they could move a lot more units by doing it.

    • +2

It's a fun thing for us, but lets be real, the vaaaaaast majority of people have no idea what that movie is, and even if it was included, they wouldn't care.

    Typical buyer scenario:

    • unpacks and excitedly powers on
    • plays first nostalgic game for 5mins and realises its shit afterall
    • tries a few more classics and suffers the same fate as above, boring, visually-unstimulating, and overall shit
    • packs it up and tries to see if it can be sold.

100% on, it's not difficult to download an emulator and download all the games on a PC, can be done on a smart phone as well but a little harder and realise nearly all the games are crap and not worth playing for more than 5 minutes. I would have to say Super Mario Bros 3 is a fine game and worthwhile to play to completion but most games on the NES are rubbish.

      • Don't get me wrong, NES, SNES and all that have unforgetabble classics.
But would you really sit down and play them with full intent to finish game? most answer is not.

I have the WII U and (paid) downloaded a few Virtual Console games from the eShop, namely Zelda Link to the Past, Final Fight, Super Mario World, etc
I played Zelda for 2mins and quit it, although it's a game i'm very fond of - we've moved way too much in gaming for us to play 16bit games and all.

Given most people buying these mini consoles have nostalgia, just emulate it for 5mins.

Yeah I got the snes and this was my exact scenario.

      • HAHA thank you for being so honest..

  • Aren't these at Kmart for $59.?

    • Were

      • +1

Thought these were less popular compared to SNES. Saw a few of these at Kmart last week (Tarneit in Vic)

        • You are right as NES is compatible with SNES but not vice versa and with one additional controller cost for two is comparable
